Air Conditioning does not work in the hotel - for some time now. It was 38-40'C in Florence during the 4 nights stay. We were not even given a fan on the 1st night.

The Hotel Bonifacio was a nice place to stay for a couple of nights. The room was clean and comfortable, plus it had a large bathroom. The breakfast, which was included, had a very good selection. As others have mentioned, the coffee from the machine is not the greatest, but I've had worse. You can always stop at a cafe in town on the way to the sights, which is only about a 10 minute walk. My only complaint is that the directions to the Hotel Bonifacio provided by Venere.com did not include one short street between the train station and via Nazionale. After circling the station, we finally had to take a taxi.

Very nice staff throughout. One desk agent spoke excellent English. It would have been helpful if the English of the other desk staff was better (not that that will help guests who don't speak English). Quad room was spacious, as was the bathroom. Great towels and shower. Breakfast was pleasant and acceptable with a very helpful and friendly attendant. The biggest problem, for us, was advertising free WiFi, then, having it work decently only if you sit in the lobby next to the front desk (my experience).

The Bonifacio is no doubt a wonderful hotel in the price range, well maintained and reasonable size rooms, very pleasant breakfast area and selection. Our stay was significantly marred by an inadequate air conditioning system which never made our room comfortable - granted it was over 40 degrees outside. Would stay again only in cool wheather.

Our stay in Bonifacio was OK. The location is as stated on the web-site, but if you have large suitcases, the walk from the train station to the hotel is difficult due to the uneven narrow sidewalks and the number of people; take a taxi. We were on vacation so the time spent in the room was minimal. The room was dark, the air-conditioning was turned off because of “end of season” and with open window there were a lot of mosquitos. Apparently the mosquito problem was not new since there were numerous splattered mosquitoes on the wall (this is what bothered us the most). The hotel staff was very helpful and kind. There are two restaurants nearby (a 4 minute walk) that were very good, one is Chinese and the other is Greek, highly recommend both.

Very welcoming hotel! It is situated in about 15 minutes by foot from Duomo.. that is not a great inconvinient.. regarding the price paid.. Wi-Fi is Free, but there were problems with its functionning.. we could use it just from time to time on out IPhone.. (no computer station) In a double room, there is no one big bed, but 2 small beds linked together.. that is not very comfortable.. The breakfast is ok.. unfortunately, at the end of breakfast time (9.30 am) there is not much left to eat.. you need to come earlier.. In general, I would recommend this hotel with pleasure.

the only negative aspect is taht the room, though large and clean, had the main window closed so that only artificial light was available. Foa 1-night stay it is ok but for multiple days this may be a minus. I don't know how many rooms have the window blocked or if only my room was blocked. In all cases the Quality/Price ratio is excellent.

The main issue I had with the room was that it was very smoky smelling. Definitely had to have the window open each day to air out the room. (I think the managers and/or maids are heavy smokers and even the towels smelled of smoke. Breakfast was one of the best of all the hotels we stayed at in italy. Had a good variety and coffee/cappucino was very good. Hotel was close to train station and in walking distance from all sites and museums.

We loved this small hotel. The location was fantastic - about a 15 minute walk from the main squares, which felt very safe even late evening. The staff were very helpful and polite. We had a family room which was clean and spacious and we loved having breakfast in the courtyard area next to the little garden. We felt that this was a real taste of Florence and our 10 and 13 year olds really enjoyed the stay too. Just one tip: if you park outside the hotel to drop off luggage you are just into the 'central parking zone' this means you have to give your car registration to the staff on the desk to avoid receiving a fine. (They explained all this on our arrival.) There was a nearby underground carpark, but we parked on a blue meter a couple of streets away, outside the central zone, which was fine and worked out slightly cheaper.

The Hotel Bonifacio was the best hotel we stayed at in Italy. The location was perfect, a fifteen minute walk away from the busier part of town and short walk to the Accademia to see the David. The Bonifacio Hotel is a really nice hotel, but its location is a bit of a drawback. Every time you go into the interesting part of Florence, there is a 15 minute walk to be made. There are bus services, but they dont go too close to the hotel, so you need to be quite fit. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, mostly quite good, and of course its fairly handy for an early morning visit to L'Academie. An early morning visit is an essential if you want to get in before the crowds, which are huge.

All of the staff were friendly and very helpful. The location was in a quiet area. The walk to the centre of Florence was safe and quiet. There were good shops nearby and en route to the city. Breakfast was fine with a good range of food. The only issue for us was that some of the linen wasn't inspected prior to being put on the bed e.g. some 'clean' sheets that were put on the bed that still had an old red wine stain on or others that had a rip in them. The sheets were changed when staff were notified. We would recommend Tito's nearby for an evening meal.

I would highly rate this hotel. It is a 15-20 minute walk to the Duomo, with the Galleria dell'Academia about half way in between. The hotel was excellent except for one minor incident. On our second night the electricity somehow went out in our room and the night desk man could not fix it. Somehow it came back on in the morning. This was our first visit to Florence but we were able to choose nice neighboring restaurants and we did not miss places to visit near by the city during one week staying there because of heart-warming helps by the hotel staffs. The hotel room we stayed was extremely quiet and well cleaned up everyday that made us comfortable. Perhaps, the hotel is not located in the very middle of the central city, but you can reach Duomo or S.M.N. central station within 10-15min by walk. In our staying, the distance was not pain for us at all. Breakfast was a little bit simple with no vegetables but this could be because of the Italian breakfast like someone else in this review said and we got used to. If we stay in Florence again in the future, I will choose this hotel and I can recommend this hotel to people looking for a nice quiet room with reasonable price.

It is a little far from the centre of the City and not on greatest bus routes but for the sake of a little walking each day was very good value. Being English we would have liked a Bath and not just a shower! Breakfasts are Italian - not really worth getting up for apart from the coffee! but that goes for every other Hotel I have stayed at in Italy! I would book this hotel again without hesitation. At first the walk from the train station to the hotel was daunting. Trying to wheel your luggage on narrow often very crowded streets is a challenge. Once at the hotel I was not overly impressed by the lobby or facility. As I got to know the staff and the area I came to the realization that this hotel is really a great bargain. It is away form the crowds, it is in a very quiet area, and there are several nice restaurants near by. I was particularly impressed with Fabio who was very helpfull. My wife and I stayed in room 18 which was rather plain in side, but, when you open the window and door to the terrace offered a nice view. We visited Venice, Florence, Siena, and Rome. Florence was by far our favorite.

Breafast was expensive for what it was. Location was good - close to train and a few minutes to the centre of Beaune. As described on the webpage, the hotel is a 15 minutes walk to most attractions (Duomo) which made the hotel quiet and out of heavy traffic. This allowed us to relax in the lovely backyard/garden in the evening and to have a peaceful sleep at night. The staff was most helpful, knowledgeable and very friendly. The reception staff was welcoming and warm as well as the breakfast staff. Fresh/luxurious towels provided daily. Breakfast is simple (yogurt/fruit/cheese/ham/cereal/croissant/rolls/etc). We made this hotel our base in Italy for 6 nights and would have no problem staying there again when we return to Florence. Also, located 2 blocks from a laundromat. For our first time in Florence and just coming from a cramped hotel in Rome this was the most spacious room and bathroom we had in Italy. The hotel was a ten minute walk from the train station which was in a real nice area and close to all the sights and sounds of Florence.
