Poor value for money. No room at that price should be allowed when the electricity has to be on all the time in the day as the light is so poor. No tissues or make up/shaving mirror and have to get a special key from reception for the safe in the room and fill in a questionnaire. Staff at reception staff are very sure they know what is best to the extent of being rude, they also do not pay immediate full attention to clients.

We were very pleased with our stay. The location was great, we even had a great view of the river and Ponte Vechio and the room was the largest I've seen in our travels in Europe. Breakfast was very convenient and a great selection of offerings. This hotel definitely has earned their stars.

Enchanting hotel, perfect location. large, very comfortable room, very good bed. excellent breakfasts. staff was exceptionally kind: i became sick the last day of our stay, and they let us keep the room until 6PM instead of 12AM.

This is a very nice hotel with wonderful bathrooms and a great nice breakfast. The staff were very good. The location is outstanding - about 1/2 block from the "golden" bridge. The staff were very accomodating in booking our museum reservations but charged us a substantial service fee to do so.

This is a great retreat in the heart of the tourist area; easy walking to everything. One of the best breakfast spreads of our entire trip. The bed was extraordinarily firm, which I like, but a bit much for my wife, who compared it unfavorably with sleeping on marble.

This is a very comfortable, and well located hotel. The staff are very polite, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was included and was great. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Florence.

The location and services of the hotel are great. It was very easy to walk to museums and shopping. A wonderful day tour to Siena and San Gimignano was easily arranged through the conceriege. A special treat was the very professional and excellent piano and opera concert (for just 15 Euros)at St. Mark's English Church, a five minute walk from the hotel.

Great location: The hotel is less than 200 meters from the Ponte Vecchio, located on the North side of the River Arno. Our room, a deluxe double with Queen bed, was located on the second floor facing the river with view of the Ponte Vecchio to our left. The street below is consistently noisy, but the double pane windows kept the room fairly quite while sleeping. The hotel staff was friendly and multilingual (we didn’t get much practice speaking Italian in the hotel). Good value and location for the price, and would not hesitate to stay at the Berchielli again.

We felt very lucky that our entire 2 week trip throughout Italy went so smoothly, booking hotels online can make you nervous and not sure about what to expect, but once again we were extremely pleased when we checked into the Berchielli in Florence. The hotel could not have been in a better location with the view from our room being stunning, overlooking the Arns River. As we did at all of our hotels we spent the extra $50 or so to upgrade to a bigger room, since the rooms in Europe are known for being small. That was the best thing we could have done! The hotel has a great bar where we were able to meet people from all over while we had an after dinner glass of wine. Breakfast was one of the best we had on our trip with a great selection of fresh fruit, breads and juices. I wouldn't stay any place else in Florence and can't wait for our next trip!

We had stayed at this hotel some years ago and this was the reason to come back for two nights. However, this time we were given a room towards the river. Due to the street passing in front of the building this was extremely noisy during the whole night. (cars, motorbikes) The second morning there was no warm water - not really what you expect for a room rate of EUR 235.--

Overall we had a great time in florence and our hotel was an excellent part of our stay. we looked forward to heading back to our room after walking the city. the welcome desk accommodated our request for a river view (which was absolutely worth the stay alone). the housekeeping staff is excellent. the breakfast is average. the concierge staff was mixed. one young woman (with a british accent) was very resourceful and courteous. one man (with a beard and glasses) who worked on sunday morning was unfriendly and unhelpful, bordering on rude. i tried to wait him out if i had any questions.

Hotel Berchielli is a Beautiful Hotel. The service is not real friendly as they don't seem to have the time to talk to you. But don't miss the charming 4th floor garden which we discovered by accident. Be prepared to ask questions about breakfast which again they never told us about and it is included in your stay. Great Hotel, not real helpful receptionists.

This is an excellent hotel in a fantastic location. Very close to Ponte Vecchio, with the rooms of the front face overlooking the river. Our room was big, bright and have fantastic views of Ponte Vecchio. Excellent value for money. Will call again.

I hesitate to recommend this hotel only because I don't want them to raise their prices in response to full bookings. This has to be the best value in Florence. The location can't be beat and the hotel , while not luxurious in any way, is clean, comfortable and very pleasant.

The location of the Berchielli Hotel is ideal, 100 meters from the Ponte Vecchio. Amenities are fine though probably more of a 3-star than a 4-star hotel per international standards, but this is Italy... Request a room with a river view, otherwise you may well overlook a narrow and dark back street. Nice roof terrace which must be great in Summer. Staff are friendly and helpful especially at the reception desk (many languages spoken). Overall a very enjoyable stay.

From the front desk to the bell hop to those who served the beautiful buffet breakfast, everyone was helpful, professional, and courteous at the Berchielli. Our double deluxe room had a beautiful view of the River Arno and its bridges. Our room was spacious and although it faced the street it was very quiet at night. Everything was spotlessly clean. A great way to begin our day in Florence was with the wonderful breakfest buffet beautifully served in the formal dining room. We would return to the Berchielli in a heartbeat and recommend it to our friends. Also, Berchielli has a nice little lounge off the main lobby where you can enjoy a pot of tea, a snack or an adult beverage.

Excellent location, right on Arno and near Ponte Vecchio, but noisy in the morning. Good size rooms with views, but starting to show some wear. Service generally good, but front desk a bit stuffy as compared to tother hotels on this trip.

We found the Hotel to be extremely good in terms of the quality of the accomodations, the highly helpful and competent staff, the location and competitive price. In fact, in our four city trip we found our stay at the Berchielli to be most enjoyable of all our hotel experiences. Would definately stay there again
