The bathroom was a bit small, and the shower difficult to get in and out of, but apart from this, it was all excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful, with good English. The breakfast was a bit better than the average Italian breakfast, making eggs and bacon to order, if you wanted it. We did have a couple of large party of teenage school children during our stay and inevitably they were a bit noisy, especially when arriving. You need to take a C2 or C3 into town, but they are reasonably frequent, and cheap, although they stop running at about 8.20pm.

Very nice, good location w restaurants near, close to river. Room & bathroon were large, had a nice view of back garden. The breakfast was very good, room large & nice, as was the sitting room, nicely decorated. Good value, I would highly recommend it. Caution in Italy, when they give directions, they are facing the building! Has an elevator.

This was the best hotel I have stayed in when I have been to Italy. The value for money was excellent.

The property was in a nice area of town 1 block from the Arno. It was an easy walk to the heart of Florence and from the train station. Common areas and the garden outside made a nice reprieve from all the sightseeing. The kids liked keeping up with friends via internet access. Staff not very friendly.

Somewhat oldfashioned hotel, nicely situated close to center (10 min walking)and close to river Arno. Spacy room, but not much place were to put things in bathroom. Heating-possibility and hot shower o.k.

We stayed for four days in Florence and were very lucky to have found and booked Ariele through venere, because it proved to be an exceptional little hotel and excellence in all possible directions. We did not know Florence and its bus routes, so we walked from Ariele to the center back and forth several times during the day, but this is perfectly ok for relatively young and fit people who are crazy about history and culture. We considered ourselves lucky with Ariele also becuase of the noise in the center where the rest of our group was staying. They were complaining about it all the time, while we had the best night-sleeps ever in Ariele.

The staff, especially the young lady at the reception, was rude and not at all polite. When I can yould not find my room at first, I was yelled at! The room size was ok for the rate, and the advertised amenities were there, but the place was VERY dusty (I have a house dust allergy, so I notice this kind of thing). I looked for a new hotel immediately and, altough your (Venere) cancellation policy says that the cancellation fee is 1 night, the hotel demanded two nights (first, they wanted all four paid) whiyh I finally paid just to get away from there. I can cannot recommend this place. The Hotel Roma, where I stayed after, is very nice, however and recommendable.

The hotel public areas are very nice. The staff did not however offer help in tourist spot locations, where to go and where to eat. The breakfast was good with a lot of choices. I am not sure if it was language barrier that they did not offer to help when I asked for train schedules.Reception told us to look at the internet, when the train schdeules are in French. Other than that, the hotel is rated as it should be- 3 stars. It is also a long walk from the train station. Taxi costs 10 Euros

Don't expect aircondioning until after june first, the hotel does not have individual in room A/C. God knows when they turn it off/ Be aware that the hotel is a long way form anything. 15 minute walk from the termini, 15 minute walk to any museums and worst of all no bus lines are near by. Florence is full of good hotels with good location, this is not one of them.

W've stayed in a good and spacious double room, very comfortable and clean. The hotel is in a residential area, a 10min walk from the city centre, and the same from Sta Maria Novella Station. We arrived almost at midnight, and it was safe to walk to the hotel. I would stay again in Ariele, and recomend it.

I was positively impressed about this hotel. The room was huge (about 5 meters room height) with a large bathroom and very clean, compared to many other 3 star hotels in Italy. It is situated in a very quiet area near the center (15 minutes walk along the Arno river to Ponte Veccia). The hotel looks a bit old-fashioned but is well equipped with a nice breakfast room, a beautiful little garden and a drinks selling machines. The only disturbing thing is that you can very easily hear noisy people in adjacent rooms. The staff is friendly but not really well english speaking.

The hotel as a property is a little bit old fashion with no luxuries; they have a really helpfull staff and some great features as free internet access and a good healthy breakfast included, an excelent location (within walking distance of all the important places) and good price/quality relationtip.

We took a taxi from the train station to the hotel when we arrived as we were not able to figure out where the hotel was with the maps we had. Turned out that it was too far for us to walk comfortably with loaded backpacks. Walking into town for sightseeing was fine though. Breakfast was good, public spaces nice.

This is a snobby little place and to be honest you can do better for the money. We stayed in August 2006. Like everywhere it has pros and cons The cons: - It's next to a building site and the builders start at 8am - It's a 15-20min walk from the train station through windy narrow streets that didn't feel safe after dark. Taxi 7-10 euro depending on time of day. - It's close enough to the river that the Tiger Mosquitos bite you in the garden - The staff have variable levels of competence with English and none are friendly or helpful! Watch out for the passport forms on arrival - if you don't tick to say they can't pass on your details, they will pass them on. This is not explained to you as at other hotels. The Pros: -Aircon works from 2pm to 9am at 20C. -Rooms are ok in size and you get clean towels daily etc. but they are more old than antique. The room we had was nothing like the picture! They have twin rooms available. -The internet point is free, but colonised by bored american teenagers. -Breakfast is good, truely self service, right down to the hot drinks from a machine, reasonable selection of cold stuffs and cereal. -Free map available on request and can book tours from reception. -Lift to both floors. -We paid cash, but you can use card during day - receipt provided.

Nice hotel. Spacious room, good value. Great breakfast, pretty courtyard with hydrangeas. Free internet available. Within walking distance to most attractions. Parking is a little inconvenient, but that's Florence. Had to park a block away in a pay lot. If leaving early in the morning can just park on the street next to hotel. Recommended.

The employees were good English-speaking, very friendly and obliging to us. A remark: the bedside rugs were dangerously slippery on the floor.
