This was our first visit to Florence and staying at the Argentina was very central for our stay. The staff were wonderful. They were so helpful in giving us directions and other helpful hints. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We arrived to Florence by train. The Argentina hotel is conveniently located 5 minutes walk from the train station and minutes from all the sites. Rooms are clean and service offered is great for the number of stars the hotel is claiming. The hotel staff is courteous and the price of the room is right - in a few words - great value for your money. I would definitely consider going back one day.

The location close to the traiin station is excellent but better walking directions are needed. We couldn't figure out what street to start walking on and ended up taking a cab for the 4 blocks, which in Italy the cabs never take you the shortest route. The beds are very old and lumpy. The rooms are very noisy. There was mold in our bathroom. The breakfast was good. There are not any good restaurants in the immediate area. It was an enjoyable (and somewhat long) walk along the river to the Uffizi. I was not totally disappointed in the property but next time I will find somewhere else to stay, hopefully with more comfortable beds.

To start off on a positive note, staff was pleasant and the hotel was only 5 minutes from the train station, which was necessary for our group. Now the bad side, we had two rooms and both were terrible. We had four hard nights there. In both rooms, no hot water the first night (cold showers not fun). The air conditioning did not work the entire time we were there and was never fixed even though we complained everyday. We tried opening the windows to get air, but it was very noisy so the only way to sleep was to close the windows and tried to sleep in a hot muggy room, not to mention on very uncomfortable beds. I guess you can say, you get what you pay for.

We were disappointed with the price of the rooms especially when we had way better rooms at a cheaper price in Rome. We weren't expecting high standards but the tile floor was pretty grimy in our room (didn't want to talk on it), the bedspread was so dirty and had cigarette burns in it (didn't want to even touch it). The bathroom was renovated but not that clean. The breakfast staff were very helpful and friendly however the front of house staff seemed a little bit unsure of what they were doing and weren't that welcoming. They did speak good English which can be really useful for those who don't speak Italian.

Very friendly people. Good breakfast. Really easy to arrive by any mean. They had a single computer fot Internet but it was out of service (and they didn't seem to care much). But it was a very clean and cosy room with air conditioning and nice TV. Will go back again.

I was expecting for the room price, that the quality of the rooms would have been of a slightly better standard. Cleanliness was good, but the carpet was old in our room and had a few stains and marks on them. Also our shower hose holder was broken and you couldn't move it high up. The rooms we were in were also right next to the breakfast area so noise was quite loud from about 6:30-7:00am onwards when staff were preparing. However the staff were very welcoming and approachable at all times. Apart from these minor issues I would recommend people to stay here, as they did not detract much from our enjoyment of FLorence - afterall you don't want to stay in your room and bed all day, you want to be up early and out!

Great Location...can walk to everything, okay cleanliness, room was a little stuffy, when we opened the windows we could hear LOTS of street activity, xmas morning we did have some interesting character loudly proclaiming a 'Buon Natale' to everyone - I guess you get what you pay for, mattresses were sagging, and bathrooms could have used some bleach to clean the mold, but the staff was VERY friendly and helped whenever they could - thank god for the open space right outside our room where we could sit and enjoy some beer and wine - overall good, but not excellent

Stayed in small, downrun double bedroom (but with excellent new bathroom)facing very noisy street and noisy outhangers from bars opposite late at nigth. Staff (except for one)did not know anything specific about the neighbourhood, weather, or transportation. Phonebooks unavailable and wired internetconnection from centrally placed PC broken throughout entire stay. Worst, however, was the breakfast. The same plates/dishes of salad and cheese went in and out day after day seemingly without replacement and one day the ham was "off". Decided after two days only to eat bread-rolls and "sealed" food from the buffet. The over-all rating for this 3-star hotel is "very average" with a thump down for the breakfast.

A really great location, within walking distance of just about everything, and so close to the Arno! Probably the best place we stayed in Italy, however the door to the room would not stay closed over (had to be shut), or it drfited back, causing a few problems. The hotel and service are exceptional for the price.

It is a good location and I would stay here again as the price was very good. Breakfast is fine and there is a great cafe/bar next door to the hotel. great location for the station and the bus station where you can get a bus to Sienna and San Gimignano for about 6 Euros.

My general experience was favorable, though I would not stay in a single room that faces the interior of the hotel again. Room was clean, but carpeting in need of changing & there was a slight smell & a little noise (possibly from bar next door). Also, window faced inward (no outside view) so it was somewhat stuffy & had a slight mosquito problem. However, bathroom was very clean, hot water, etc. Staff were very nice, knowledgeable & make great restaurant reservations. Property is about 1/2 mile from train station & located near many restaurants, shops, the Arno & car rental offices. Breakfast was fantastic. Pictures of hotel property & interior shots (taken by client) are pretty accurate. Single room is smaller than the triple (photo) but still roomier than other singles I stayed in (7 during a 2-week stay).

When we get at the hotel, we were told that they had an electrical problem with the room that we were suppoused to stay. They relocate us to a nearby hotel, same category and price. They paid for the cab and in matter of 20 or 30 minutes we were settled at the other hotel. The only thing we can tell about Hotel Argentina is that their location is very close to the train station.

From reading all the reviews of European hotels, it seems it hit or miss in terms of what you get. For me, this one night stay was a hit. The room was clean and spacious. I had hot water to shower. The breakfast was typical, but I especially like the made to order latte I got at breakfast. The staff spoke english which was a plus. It's about a 10 minute walk from the train station. I would stay again.

I found this hotel to be fantastic, I requested a room on the second floor with a balcony and lovely wooden shutters and this is exactly what i got. room 104. The room was a triple room and was really light and spacious, the balcony was lovely. The sir con unit in the room was the best i have come across in my recent stay in italy. The staff were excellent and eager to assist with any issues. The location was also great 1 block from the river, the train station was less than 10 mins and 10min along the river to the centre of Florence. You can get a regional train for 11euro return to pisa which was great trip a must. Overall i really loved this hotel and really couldn't have honestly faulted it.

Hotel Argentina was very homely, though may require refurbishment. The breakfast was lovely. We booked a double room and after 1 night realised the air-cond was faulty. Upon reporting the next morning, we got moved to the next available room, a triple room, but at no extra charge. That was fantastic service. Location is within walking distance from attractions though not right in the centre, but that's what makes it a little quiet. Florence streets were well lit, so walking back to the hotel felt safe. Will always go back, no doubt.

Volveriamos.

This place was a dump. The photos were very misleading. The common area was fine and the receptionists were friendly. The room was the problem. It was ugly to say the least. The wallpaper was falling off the wall. The air conditioner would not work very well. The bathroom was like stepping back into 1960. It was just not what the photos lead you to believe. Plus you could hear everything from the people next door. The doors were so noisy that when someone shut their door you could here it. It is time for this hotel to get a face lift. But I don’t plan on going back to see it.

I once lived in Florence for almost a year, but have only stayed in hotels there once or twice. I found the Hotel Argentina/Curtatone to be every bit as good as the site and its photographs say it to be. While a 15-minute walk into the city centre, it is very close indeed to the important public transport hubs of the main train and bus stations (like a < 5 minute walk). Overall a good, friendly, clean and respectable hotel. I would certainly recommend it to others going to Florence for a spell.

First impression of Hotel very nice enterence, friendly welcome. Our room was on the 2nd floor, No 108 which was a disaster, wallpaper peeling off wall. Old "tatty" wardrobe, wooden floor in disrepair, air-conditioning not working, unable to use bath as it was so narrow. Hit of sides of wall when having a shower as bathroom space so restricteed. Window looked onto a terrace that you could not use as it was the drying area for the Hotel. On complaining we were offered another room on same floor which was smaller and no better. We were then shown another room on same floor but staff realised that air-conditioning did not work in this room either. Eventually we were moved to a different floor Room 3 which was like a different Hotel, as it was really lovely, furniture, bedding, flooring and even the bathroom was more elegant and roomy. Staff on reception very helpful especially Andre. Girls in Breakfast room were excellent. All Hotel Staff were very pleasent and accomodating. Would definately return only if we got rooms on the 1st floor or perhaps they even had better rooms.

Excellent location, the hotel is located just a few steps from a posh neighborhood surrounded by 4 and 5 star hotels. We felt very safe in this part of town at night. Our room was in need of a good cleaning & airing out. The room was dusty & there was some mold between the grout lines in the shower. My in-laws room was very spacious & clean, definitely the better of the two rooms. We only stayed one night, & thank goodness for that! I think the adjacent building is apartments because we heard people coming & going all night. Our windows and doors were closed, air conditioning on (although it didn't work that well), and it was still loud. It was as if they were right there in our room. We should have complained about the cleanliness of the room, barely working air conditioning, loudness, but it was our last night in Florence before going home, & I didn't want to end our trip on a negative note. Thank goodness we're young, flexible, & that I brought earplugs, or it wouldn't have been pretty.

I asked for a room with balcony and i get 2 options right away. Information was so good than we went to Pisa and Lucca. Worth places to visit if you are in florence. Everything is really close, we walk all the time, but if you don't want to you can take the bus, easy and often. A lot of restaurants near (really near) to the hotel, try "Pastarito" at the SMN-station, best italian food i ever taste and cheap. Of course the hotel was really clean and breakfast really good(Juice could be better). Argentina Hotel is a nice place to stay for visiting Firenze, very convenient: 10 minutes walk from major touristics sites. Very kind Staff alway ready to help and to provide good advices for the surrounding sites to visit. You can left your car at the garage without any trouble, even if in the night you have better to use the driver service (free) to avoid the walk in the Whore area. It is quite perfect, except the cost of 32€ /day and the fact that it close at midnight. The only thing I have to complain is that you can't have breakfeast before 7:30 witch is about 30 minutes too late if you want to be in the museum at the opening hour (8:15)with about 3 quarters of an hour queueing.....without even a cappucino.

They knowingly gave us a room with a broken air conditioner. After we complained, they brought in a portable one that did not work well and we heard the street noises all night. They told us there were no other rooms available. They did not discount the room price knowing that the air conditioner was not provided as they said they would. Room was old and needed paint. Bathroom nice. Breakfast excellent and web service a plus. Rate it 2 as it should be.

This hotel is a good place to spend 2 or 3 nights. Room and bathroom are clean and the service is OK. The hotel is 15/20 minuts walking from the center (Duomo and Palaccio Vecchio) and really close to the river. Around the hotel there are different restaurants and an Irish pub. Our room was in front of the Irish pub, and at night you can heard motorbikes and people talking, but it didn't annoys us, because we closed the windows. There are other rooms not so close to the pub.

I would definitely stay in the Argentina again and would reconmmend it to friends. The hotel is well situated for cafes, restaurants and Florence's wonderful attractions. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean, spacious and good value for money. The only minor downside was a group of teenagers on a school trip, who were noisy late into the night, however the hotel staff dealt with this quickly and very effectively! Enjoy your stay!

We stayed there just for a night. The hotel is near Arno river: in 10 minutes walking you are in the center of the city. The breakfast is good and the rooms are really really nice. Great!

Excellent location for train and access to sites. Really odd shower, with shower head reluctant to cooperate, and funny little seat in the bottom. Very small bathroom. Really great breakfast. Free internet in lounge. Close to supermarket and laundromat.

A well located (e.g. 10 minute walk from RR station)moderately priced hotel. Breakfast a bit limited but okay. Biggest complaint was their failure to get reservations at the Ufizzi (sp)despite our overseas call a couple of weeks before. I'd still redcommend the hotel.

There are very thin walls between the rooms, and the staff in the breakfast room could have been more experienced, other then that a very good stay, both placing, pricing and size of the rooms.

This is a lovely hotel. We had a very big room and a great stay there, I would highly recommend it. It is only a short walk to everything from the hotel. The is a cafe right beside it which is lovely.

This hotel was in a very nice location for train travel. We were pleased with our service and accommodations. The breakfast was excellent and the use of a computer was an extra we enjoyed. We would definitely recommend.

My husband and I stayed at the Argentina for six nights and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The employees were competent, helpful and friendly (especially Daniel the 2nd shift desk clerk). The room was neat and clean and the continental breakfast was delicious, serving much more than your typical continental fair.

All in all it was a nice stay. The hotel is a little walk from the center but it was no too far. The room we had had a terrible view of the inside of the building. You should ask to see the room before taking it. I'm sure there were other rooms that were better.

We really enjoyed our staying in the Argentina Hotel. Te reception desk was very helpful and hospitable. They recommended us a beautiful restaurant for the dinner and made a reservation for us. The room was much better than we expected, actually it was the best we stayed during our whole journey covering Rome, Milan, Venice and Florence. I have to admit, the breakfast was great. The only hotel serving continental breakfast instead of croissant and coffee. The hotel is also very near to the public areas. It was a bargain regarding the price. Thanks to venere and also thanks to Argentina.

Unfortunately, public areas are very stinky at the first floor and we had to stop the airconditioning because of the noise. At 6:00 in the morning, 18 Nigerians stood up and were very, very noisy....

Hotel itself was nice, room was clean, bathroom was incredible. The breakfast was great. Fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, etc...great! The staff was ok, limited English. However - the hotel never responded to any of my several e-mails to confirm details and get answers to my questions. I would hesitate to book here again because of the stress associated with their lack of communication.

Terrible hotel, pictures on web page did not resemble the hotel at all. staff, apart from the cleaner and night staff, were totally unhelpful and unfriendly. we almost felt they thought they were doing us a favour by letting us stay. not even a cup of coffee available for guests. bathrooms were really old and the bath was half the size of a normal bath. old hotel with no effort to modernise, not even a safe to keep your valuables-usually standard and required these days. poor breakfast for a continental, not even a slice of ham which we got in all the other hotels we stayed in. cheapest of the cheapest breakfasts.

The hotel was alright. Our double bed was actually two twin beds pushed together so there was a uncomfortable crack down the middle. Also our shower drain seemed to be clogged so we were forced to take quick showers. Other than that the rooms were nice and the location was pretty good.
