This hotel is fabulous! The room is huge with a balacony. Decor is 14th century. The staff are very friendly. On our arrival we were a little weary and the lady straight away made us a cup of tea & cappuccino. She gave us a map and showed us everything we needed to know. It's not right in the middle of town, which is fine and about 10mins from Ponte Vecchio. There are places to eat nearby it you don't want to go over the bridge. It's about 30mins from the train station and that is carting luggage. The hotel is not on the ground floor and there are two flights of stairs to main entrance. The stairs are not a problem and sure a bit bugger with luggage, but it's not as if you are carting them everytime you go & down the stairs. Breakfast was included in the price. The net was 4 euro's per day which as I found out whilst travelling, was very reasonable. I cannot fault this hotel or it's staff. It was our favourite hotel while we travelled through Italy. I would happily stay there again and recommend it to everyone.

We originally picked this hotel because it is just a few blocks from the home of our friend whom we visited in Florence. She told us it looked like what we wanted. We arrived at Hotel Annalena on our fifth week of European travel and were prepared for almost anything. This hotel was amazing. Everything we wanted to compliment our Firenze experience. We spent seven days at Annalena. I had gone there in "street view" many times, however, I was still unprepared for the thrill I felt when the taxi pulled up directly across the street from the Pitti Palace on Via Romana just a few blocks from the Porta Romana! The hotel staff greeted us as if we were family. That attitude remained throughout our entire stay. We splurged a bit and booked a balcony room and that was a great choice. Our balcony overlooked the gardens and we took breakfast there daily. Our room was bright and airy and spacious. There was a leaky faucet in the bathroom, but nothing to even mar a moment of the stay. We had a small fridge so we brought fruit & cheese from the market for light meals in the afternoon on the balcony shaded by olive trees. The Annalena is located in the midst of everything we wanted to see. Just down the street The Santo Spirito Plaza became our "meeting place", were many of our adventures began and ended. We went on to Switzerland, France & Spain but our hearts remain in Firenze. We will definately return to Annalena.

Hotel Annalena was inexpensive and clean, and the service was quite good. The prices I got through venere.com were much cheaper than the prices on the Annalena website (I paid 50 euro a night for a double bed with private bathroom in July). The location is within walking distance of all the major attractions but far enough away that there is no problem with noise at night. The free breakfast was simple but good (cornetto, coffee, yogurt, cereal, juice).

For a couple who are going on a romantic vacation, this 3 star hotel is far from being accepted, and far from being a real 3 stars ranked hotel; quite far location from city center (definitely not within the advertised 15 minutes walk from station (unless you are making an athlete sprint run), very very very poorly furnished rooms (they advertise that rooms are classically furnished, but what's it truly is is just old unmaintained furniture), unclean walls (but clean bed sheets), poor flooring, and to top it all very lousy personnel who have totally missed the meaning of customer service. However, this might be a good budget hotel for backpackers or youth who would otherwise sleep in hostels.

Situación fantástica, fuera del ruidoso centro. Habitaciones limpias, y algunas con terraza privada!!! si volvemos a Florencia, volveremos a este hotel. Aquí, como en muchos hoteles de Italia el desayuno es ridículamente escaso.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Annalena. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was included which was awesome and our room overlooked a lovely garden. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends traveling to Florence in a heartbeat.

The hotel is on a narrow road as is most hotels in Florence. The map printed through Venere was confusing. Get a real map of Florence and find the way if you want to walk to the hotel which is a good 20 minute walk. Lobby is on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator. If you have luggage on rollers, better get a taxi as side walks are very rough. The single room I was in was very small but clean and had a nice bathroom.

Expected one triple room, was given a two bedroom suite which was spacious and clean. Room was somewhat noisy at night due to street traffic. Breakfast buffet was quite nice but you needed to get there early before they ran out of some items. Was relatively close to Ponte Vecchio. Great place for the price.

This was our first stay at Hotel Annalena, and the rates during the week were a fantastic value for Florence. The hotel occupies the whole floor of a building, and the lobby is tastefully decorated and has soaring ceilings and an airy feeling complemented by the soft classical music they play and is a pleasant place to sit and read or unwind after a day of sightseeing. The room we had was clean, warm & spacious with very high ceilings & a window facing the back of the property with greenhouses and gardens. There was some occasional noise from the neighboring rooms which you could hear mainly through the bathroom & hallway due to the fact that it is in a historic building, but the hotel wasn't full, so it was mostly quiet. the best part is the breakfast, which was the best complementary breakfast i have ever had. there was bread, croissants, cheese, ham, butter, cream cheese, plain yogurt, fruit yogurt, fruit, honey, preserves, cereals, milk, juices, water, a selection of tea, espresso, excellent cappuccino, even pate - all beautifully presented on silver serveware. the staff was young & friendly, speaks enough English and they have internet access in the rooms. the sign outside is very small and you have to walk up one flight of stairs and through a gallery to reach the property, but if you have the street address, you should be able to find it ok as we did. it is very near the Palazzo Pitti and a short walk to the Arno river and Ponte Vecchio. The street has many antique shops, and there is a popular pizzeria nearby as well as a hairdresser, taxi stand and a tabaccheria to buy stamps. This was the best value for Florence and we would definitely stay there again.

Pensione molto tranquilla e vicinissima a Palazzo Pitti, non lussuosa, ma con un ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo per la città di Firenze! Tutte le stanze hanno il bagno in camera. La consiglio

Friendly, very competent staff, willing to go the extra mile: I had an early flight out and they made breakfast for me at 6:00 AM (regular starting time 7:30). Perfect location in centre of city, easy walking distance to every important site.

The staff were kind, friendly and welcoming and we were upgraded to a room with a balcony. There was a little noise from the road in the mornings, but generally it is a quiet area and the quietest hotel we have found in florence. lovely atmosphere and reception areas. would recommend.
