Good location within easy walking distance of the train station, as well as significant tourist sites (Uffizi, etc.) and local markets. Sitting on the rooftop was a bonus, although we were told on a Friday night that it was closed at 11:00p.m. even though we had been up there after midnight the night before. Rooms & bathrooms are small, but clean and comfortable. No additional amenities, but none needed since you are so close to good food, drink, internet cafes, etc. Good value for the price at the time of year we visited.

Well, we didn't get a very welcoming reception. Arriving at 8 in the morning after spending the night in the train, we were roughly asked to come back at check in time which was 1PM. Although it was kind of them to let us leave our suitcases there, there was no mentioning of "Sorry, all our rooms are full at the moment, you need to come back at 1PM" or even "We can give you an early check in but because this is very early, you'll need to pay a little extra". It was mere "Check out is 11, not 7 or 8". Apart from that.... Good: Location (very close to SMN). Room was clean & spacious. Fair price. Bad: Customer service. One tip on finding the hotel: After turning left at largo Allinari, you need to take the first RIGHT (not left as instructed) into via Fiume.

My boyfriend and I really liked our stay. The room was a good size not huge but decent and we had a balcony. This hotel is not luxurious but after traveling abroad many times I realize how convenient it is to stay close to the train station. This hotel is in a great location with a lot of good coffee shops to get breakfast, a grocery store around the corner a well as easy access to the train station, bus station and to bike rentals. We did not have breakfast at the hotel because we felt that 7 Euros was a bit to pricey. Don't worry there are lots of places to eat. On another note while walking around we discovered many other great accommodation for around the same price. Check out Hotel Botticelli. It looks very nice.

The hotel was extremely well located, one block from the train station so it was easy with dragging luggage. It seemed like a safe spot with a short walk into main areas of Florence. We were 5 adult family members traveling together and had a double and triple. We walked all over Florence from there. The bus station also was located within 1 block for side trips.

The hotel is just a few steps from the main train station but do not get worried because it is very very quiet. The location is perfect, close to the city main roads and restaurants. The bathroom was very very clean and new. The A/C was working fine but without temperature control, you can cold during the night. Breakfast is OK for this tourist level hotel. The staff was very helpfull. The hotel is at the 3rd floor of the building but there is an old but very convenient lift. I really recommend this hotel and I would stay there again. PARA OS BRAZUCAS: Vale a pena pela limpeza e pela comodidade de estar perto da estação de trem. Fomos no verão então o ar cond quebrou um galho. Tudo é bem novinho. Vale a pena.

We were lucky and were given a very large front facing room. The hotel is nice and staff very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect as Florence is so small so its great to be just round the corner from the station yet still near to the sights and in the main tourist area. very happy with the hotel, bit lacking in period character - the hotel and the street - perhaps, as some other places I have seen nearby seem to be a bit better in this respect!

Amazingly quiet for being so close to train station. Easy five minute walk with rolling carry-on. Very close and convenient to many good restaurants and internet cafes, as well as an easy walk - about as direct as can be had in Firenze - to the major sites. Blessedly quiet and efficient air conditioner. Loved the little elevator, but once up to reception, you may have to negotiate stairs. Internet rates were a little high. Our room, booked on this site, included breakfast, but another guest was quoted 7 Euro, which I thought was an outrage for what was offered. I would absolutely stay here again.

Perfect location! One block from train station but clean and quiet place, just few minutes walk from all tourist attraction. Big and recently renovated rooms, cleaned daily. While bearing 3 stars, it is actually high-end motel per US standards. Do not expect fancy things here, it is place to sleep. But we came for sightseeing, not for hotel dwelling, correct? What was disappointing that breakfast was not included and cost 7.0 Euro/person; just skip it and have a snack on the street or bring something from the supermarket as we did.

We were 2 young couples to stay here and travel together. The staff is nice and can keep your luggage after your check out. The rooms are nice, well located, clean, safe, quiet. Just something wrong for travelers: Despite I paid a little for it, the WiFi network doesn't work (strong radio perturbation, so you can't really connect to it). I tried in two different rooms and in public area around the rooms.

Hotel very well renoweted, with a touch of beautiful decoration. Clean and confortable. Only two sugestions: 1) the shower should be delimited because the water when you make shower gose everywhere. 2) the closet should be better placed (there is so large space in the room) because when you open the door, inevitably this hurt the closet. This commentary is only made to suggest, because nothing take off of the general beauty and management of the room

The location was excellent - very close to the train station, albeit a little difficult to find because it is on the 3rd floor of the building. We were able to drop our bags off early and then we were on our way exploring Florence. The rooms were VERY spacious (we had a triple). We had a room overlooking the street so it was noisier at night. The hotel staff was so-so, 1 of the front desk clerks was completely competent while the other was quite rude. I was surprised that breakfast was not included in the rate as it was in other hotels I stayed at in Europe. All they had was a continental style breakfast - you're better off hitting one of the food places on the surrounding streets.

Our family really loved Hotel Annabella. We stayed in many three star hotels on our trip and this was by far the best. The rooms were very comfortable, up-to-date, and clean! I have no complaints about the hotel room. The staff was relatively nice, not overly excited but just friendly enough. The area directly surrounding the train station is a bit seedy but this hotel is one street away and seems to leave the train station atmosphere behind. We wish we could have stayed there our entire trip. I would go back again!

Booked with garage (like offered on the websie), but the hotel doesn´t have one, so that i had to drive to the next autosilo. The young man at the reception was only nerved, nearly unkind. Only one of the three persons of the staff had the kindness for the guests that I would have expected.

Excellent value and great hotel. Our triple occupany with myself and 2 adult sons were spacious. Shower stall in bathroom was tiny but overall bathroom was very clean. Small elevator leading up to the floor but that's typical European size anyway. One minor thing was there is no signage on their door nor on the elevator on street level for Hotel Annabella but there was a sign for a sister hotel next door. Apparently staff said they intended to put one up soon as they were doing some remodelling and hadn't put one back up.

The very best about hotel Annabella was the location .next to the station and walking distance to everything .Then the spaciousness of the room with our own balcony and its confort it was a treat after the small rooms we got in Rome for similar value. We highly recommand to stay there if you travel by train. We also booked a tour at the hotel :the best of Tuscany tour in one day ,leaving from the station it was great

Annabella was ok but we were very annoyed by the people there. They quoted a price for two adults on Venere and when they found out about our 18 month old baby they wanted to charge us for a triple bedroom even when we said that she would sleep with us on the same bed. WE stayed at other places through Venere and none of them caused us any problem. WE had to bargain for a better price, wich they lowered but still was not the price for a double bedroom. Price of the breakfast is 5 euros even though they do not specify on Venere. WE didn´t have breakfast there. Besides that the hotel is nice, rooms are cute, bathroom is clean, but the hotel is not a three star as they claim.

We were very pleased with our four day stay at the hotel. It is very close, right around the corner of the train station, for quick trips out of town. Many restaurants and the market to the north within a few blocks. The town if very easy to find places within walking distances. The hotel is up a few floors, but a great place to stay. Great rates also for the dollar exchange rates. Meals are high in Italy. Breakfast was fine for a small and quick bite.

I stayed at Annabella for 4 days in Aug 07 with my wife on our first visit. We both felt that the hotel has been overrated on venere. The room was clean to start off with, but wasn't properly cleaned throughout our stay (floors not dusted, towels and sheets not changed until we asked to on our third night of our stay!). The counter staff were really not helpful and every time we asked for help, we were handed the Yellow Pages. The bathrooms were very small and you had to literally squeeze into the bathroom as the door wouldn't fully open. On the bright side, the hotel has a SUPERB location. Close walk to the train stations, and a convenient location to reach all the major attractions in the city. The price is also quiet competitive for 3 star hotels. Basically, if you need a place to stay for a 1/2 days stop over in Florence at an attractive price, Hotel Annabella is for you. Any longer stays and I'll look elsewhere. NB: The directions on Venere from the train station are WRONG! Once you've exited the train station on the left, crossed the street, walked towards McDonald, made your first left... You have to make a LEFT onto Via Fume (not a RIGHT as per the directions online) and the hotel will be on your left!

We stayed three nights at the Hotel Annabella and really enjoyed our stay. It is close to the train station but still an easy walk to everything in the central area. The owner was extremely helpful and went above and beyond what we expected. She arranged for reserved time at the Uffizi and Accademia museums. The breakfast was an additional 7 euros, and it was adequate. An outstanding place to eat was the wolf and the cat (El Gatto, etc.) It was highly recommended by some American students studying in Florence and we're now happy to recommend it to our friends. Don't let the arrival at the hotel turn you off to the property. You enter through a dimly lighted entry hall and go up three floors in an antique lift. Once arriving at the hotel, it is very nicely outfitted. The bathroom was especially nice and we had a balcony room that was very pleasant.

This was a rather odd hotel on the 4th or 5th floor of a building on Fiume Street near the train station, with another hotel sharing the same floor, both serviced by an ancient cage elevator. Quite interesting. The desk people were great, the rooms and bed and bathroom were great and it was very quiet.

We are a Dutch couple and we enjoyed our stay at Annabella very much. The room (nr 35) was excellent, the staff was friendly, helpfull and spoke very good English. We certainly will return to this hotel when we visit Florence again. Only two remarks: 1. the cost of the breakfast was not included. This was poor indicated on the Venere.com site (cost 7 euro) and 2. The parking cost for your car is rather high (24 euro / day). The hotel (better: Florence) should find alternative for this (free parking outside the city and commute by bus/train). Overall: very good hotel!!

The hotel was near the railway station and it was easy to find. The room was quite clean and comfortable. It was quiet at night, but a little bit noisy in the morning. Receptionists speak English. They were willing to answer our questions. But the problem was that their information was not always accurate. We asked the reception lady how to reach the outlet and her information directed us to the wrong railway station. Generall speaking, the hotel location was good, the room was satisfactory and the staff were friendly.
