Andrea is a cozy bread and breakfast. Our room had a wonderful view of Florence's marvels. It was in a quiet place, but you could reach all the attractions by walk. It is a very charming place and its staff is very friendly and helps you to find what you want to do in Florence.

We stayed for two nights and enjoyed our stay very much. Having rooms that overlooked the Piazza was well worth it. It was hard to find initially by car, but it is very well located for seeing the historic parts of Florence. Breakfast was okay, although my boys found it hard as once again there was no cold milk - this is a problem we have had everywhere so far. Overall, it was a very good place to stay and enjoy the ambiance of Florence.

Really a great location and perfect for a night or two where the main intention is to sleep and have a little breakfast in the morning. We stayed in one of their simpler rooms for 80 Euros on a Wednesday night and it was was perfectly adequate (and we're picky). We may stay in one of their 105 Euro rooms next time but again, smaller room was perfectly adequate for a night or two. Price always depends on time of year and time of week just like in New york where we're from. Really great neighborhood and truly walkable to the Duomo (4 short blocks). Hotel says they are 300 meters from the train station but they are really about 1000 meters, but still, a relatively short walk of 10 minutes. We will defintetly go back when staying in Florence again. The staff was great.

Although the hotel is not as close as one would think to the station, it is in a relatively quiet area which overlooks Piazza della Indipendenza. From here it is easy to access all the tourist areas of the city on foot. We stayed 3 days and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and the room we were in was very spacious. My daughter is in a wheelchair and although the hotel is not really equipped for disablity (they forewarned me of this) we found that the staff made an effort to accomodate her needs as best as possible. The breakfast was quality rather than quantity - simple but very good. We enjoyed our stay.

The panoramic view was the best part of the stay. We overlooked a park and got a flavor of local life. There is some street noise for such a busy town and we had windows wide open for air movement. Washing facility was tight fitting but expected for such an old building. Each and every staff member was very kind even though I could not speak their language. Buffet breakfast with fresh made capucino to order cannot be beaten anywhere!

Great Meal at the pizzaria/spagettiria nearby (across the park.) Map provided by Venere was not accurate. It took quite a bit of searching to find the Hotel which was very nice once we found it. NOTE-Lobby is on the 3rd FLOOR of the building (It does have an elevator)

Small cramped rooms and breakfast area. Entry a bit confusing through a large wooden door then up a long passageway. It was very cheap so can't complain too much. Would rather pay a bit more for better facilities.

We were hot and tired and the hotel was much further from the train station than advertised. A long trek for seniors. It was also hard to find from the directions. (Others had said the same about it). The hotel itself was charming and the personnel very pleasant and accommodating. The bathroom needs some hooks and shelves for toiletries. Once we were established, it was very convenient to all sights and the market and restaurants. The breakfast was delicious and very sufficient. We would stay there again.

Hotel is further from station SMN than advertised and is on 3rd floor of a 4+ story building. If the lift doors are not propoerly closed, one must walk up or down. One must look for the address on the large Piazza d'independenza. Small, nearly primitive room, unable to use bathroom and close door, water-logged cigarette and empty shampoo bottle from previous guest were still in room and clearly visible on top of mirror and shower. Compressors for air conditioning are on balcony in front of room. A/c in room did not work. In a phone call, staff could not explain their location. How do hotels in Florence justify such high prices. All out of line.

The breakfast is poor at this hotel. The location is ok. The hotel is in the 4th floor in the building. There was a fire in the TV in our room. The room was smoke-filled and a terrible smell of melted plastic and wiring. There was no smokedetector. We had to stay at this room the rest of our stay. In this case the service was terrible..

Very nice staff. Lovely room. Great selection for breakfast. I had booked a single but was given a very nice double with a nice view of city. Unfortunately,my room was close to reception so could hear all conversations. Also could hear people walking across floor in room above as wooden floors, could do with noise insulation as the noise does carry in this building. This is a shame as would prevent me from staying again.

I'm so satisfied regarding queality price, is near to the train station, near to the market, I'd would like to walk and for me the distances were great!, the people very gentile and a good service, molto amabile tutti. You know, the payed price is exactly you receive. Probably I improve the breakfast. The room are cleaned but not big, the neccessary for a tourist as me.

This hotel is in a good location relative to proximityto the train station and in a quiet safe area. Its also reasonably close to the main sites of Florence. Do request a room upstairs with a view of the Duomo however. Overall its a reasonable hotel for the price indicated, with breakfast included.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Andrea. I would recommend it highly. My room (103) was very comfortable, clean and quiet. I was particularly pleased with the lovely view! Also there's a very nice little park just a few steps away. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Lots of nice little places to eat nearby. The hotel is close to the Mercato Centrale, train station etc., Very nice location. I will be going back!

The hotel was very nice, the location is great, very close to the academia (4 blocks away) and the rest of the town centre. The people were very nice, and polite. Good breakfasts, few options but enough. The rooms: we got a family room and that was spacious (but only for two people), very clean when we arrived, but during our stay (5 days) they didn't clean the room very well, and you had to ask for the towels to be changed. Another room, for two people, was a bit small. Overall, we enjoyed staying there.

It is relatively old hotel, basically inside of a residential building. It is pretty quiet, it has nice view, but too many mosquitos and flys... my room had a very high ceiling so it was not easy to kill a mosquito. My wife didn't like the furniture and toilet, but she did like the breakfast room. Breakfast was great. I am not sure if I would go again, especially because we got much nicer and newer hotel in Rome for 25% lower price.

This was a friendly, homely kind of hotel - nice quiet area, yet still handy for main sights of Florence - also lovely view from room. Price was excellent value. This would be a little gem of a hotel, were it not for the internal noise. Lack of soundproofing meant that even low level noise from other rooms was very audible, and noise from doors closing, stairway and entry buzzer system was also very disturbing. If this could be rectified we would love to stay at this hotel again, however the disturbed sleep would definitely give us pause for thought.

If you are driving, you MUST get good directions before going to Florence. Don't try to find it on your own unless you have been there before and know how to get around with all the one way streets. Also, weekend free parking in the city is nice. The Andrea is situated on a nice Plaza but there is lot of activity at all hours of the day and night. We didn't have any trouble with noise for the most part, but the late activity concerned us from a safety standpoint. The room was spacious and the bathroom clean. I have no complaint about the rooms or services. The price was about what can be expected from hotels in Florence.

We arrived at the train station late afternoon on Sunday and walked to the hotel which was a good 10 minutes. This is not a big hotel but it met are needs perfectly. The location was just right, the views from our room were spectacular and the attedntion from the hotel staff was excellent. The gentleman at the front desk was very knowlegable and very helpful. He gave us information about the city and siteseeing on our own. We took advantage of the Hop on Hop Off Guided busses for 11 Euros per person (all day) It takes you to the important sites in in Florence they also have these busses in Rome. I would definetly do it all again. TY, Venere

The hotel was advertised as recently renovated. We obviously got the only quad room yet to be renovated. The bathroom flooded and the toilet seat was falling off. When I reported it next morning to who I believe was the owner/manager, he implied we must have damaged the toilet. He backed off when I said I had reported it to the staff the previous night just after we had arrived. We were moved to another room after a night in a cramped double box, which was much better and actually had a view. The other staff were very helpfull, especially the breakfast lady- she was lovely. We used the in-room internet network, which was expensive and slooooow. Much better to pay half the price and use one of the many cafes around the area. I'd probably stay there again (devil you know)but would make sure the room was renovated. The location is good. Advertised as 200m from the station. Yeah right!! At least 600m more like it.
