Good location, excellent orientation and follow-up by a welcoming staff, room smallish but adequate, bathroom superior. Lots of good choices for eating and drinking in that section of Oltrarno. I would recommend it to value-oriented travelers.

It was our first visit to firenze but thanks to the excellent tipps (especially where to have a delicous dinner) from the owner we were well equipped to see the city. you can reach the main sites north of the arno in 10-15 minutes and and your way home you can have a drink in one of the bars around pizza santo spirito. our room was clean and comfortable, we enjoyed our stay at althea rooms very much and would definetly return

The Althea rooms were a great value. Very clean and comfortable. The owner, Antonio, gave us a very helpful 5-10 minute orientation to the city when we arrived and checked in. There is a desktop computer in each room which was useful- I wish every hotel would do this. Antonio also has useful phone numbers set up as speed dials (taxi, museum reservations, etc). It was an excellent value with many more services provided than even a 4-star hotel.

Very welcoming staff members upon arrival! They were great in providing directions, suggestions, and feedback on our stay. The location was only a ten minute walk (if that) to the Ponte Vecchio. My only complaint was our air conditioner was not very strong and was pretty loud. It got to be pretty warm at times. The windows do not open to the street so it was a tad stuffy, with that being said, it is totally possible that was just our room. Overall, would recommend!

The room was fine. There was a laptop and free internet in the room. The owner was very nice. We got maps of the city and a list of things to see. The owner helped us with registering the car in the city(apperently you can't drive in the city without a sticker?!?).The location wes perfect. Nice restaurents, quite area, not so many tourist, close to evrything(Florence is not that big).We got breakfast in a near by coffe shop(coffee, pastry and orange juice).I would recomend this place if you want to stay away from the crouds but enjoy the beauty of Florence.

My favorite aspect of this property was that the room included a PC with internet access. It made it very easy to keep in touch with friends and family back home. I was in the single room. The room was clean but I was a little unsure. It was a little cramped. It seemed like the room was designed with whatever leftover space was available. The bathroom didn't really have a shower stall...it was really just separated with plastic shower curtains. The property was a good walk from the popular parts of Florence. Overall, it was a decent value and the owner was very nice and helped get me orientated with Florence upon arrival.

Very spacious room and bathroom for European standards. Located slightly away from the busiest touristy areas, which we liked very much. The host, Antonio, brought breakfast to our rooms - also a nice touch.

Althea Rooms was an excellent value. We stayed in the triple room - nothing fancy but it was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Exactly as advertised. The owner, Antonio, speaks fluent English and was extremely helpful with advice. Breakfast was included and is at a nice restaurant in the neighborhood. Air conditioner works great. We loved the quiet location in less expensive part of Florence, yet only 10 minute walk from main tourist areas. Plenty of hot water in shower, but water goes everywhere because shower is just a corner of the bathroom with a drain in floor and shower curtain. Overall highly recommended as long as you're looking for a clean bed at a reasonable price and don't expect a modern American-style hotel room. Staff couldn't have been better.

Location is ideal - convenient to Palazzo Pitti, Ponte Vecchio and all major sites, but removed from the largest throngs of tourists. Rooms are very clean and spacious for such a central location. Bathrooms are generally tiny - frequently feels like aboard a ship. No breakfast room exists, and eating in room is somewhat awkward.

The room was very spacious and had a computer with internet connection in the room, which we found useful. We received breakfast each morning to our room, which was nice, and we were only a short walk from all of the main sights. On the down side, the room was really noisy as our window was onto a busy street. i would recommend going to Siena for the day on the train, and to pisa for the day also.

Rooms where small and bathroom was even smaller and stinking! Staff was good knowledgeable, helping and very co-operative. Break fast was a minimal. Over all quite low on value for money.

Good location, adequate room, reasonable price...great room except that the neighbors were very noisy until late into the night and as there is no hotel management on location, there was nothing to be done about it. If you stay here, do not get room #5.

I stayed Hotel Bretagna instead of Althea Rooms because Althea Rooms was fully booked at that time. The front was very kind and friendly. The location of the hotel was suitable for my purpose of business. Also covenient for sightseeing. It may be more comfortable if there are small refrigerator and tea set in the room. One can enjoy breakfast with a beautiful scenery of Fiume Arno. Grazie.
