About Hotel Alle Ville sull'Arno

exterior Hotel Alle Ville sull'Arno exterior The hotel Alle Ville sull'Arno is immersed in a greeny and tranquil setting. The villa is located on the right bank of the Arno river, only 10 minutes (by bus) from the centre of Florence, along the old path where the Florentines used to go for a relaxing stroll in the country.

Over the years, the property has combined the old structure with the requirements of a modern and comfortable hotel. Now the property consists of small buildings that harmonically merge with the original 15th century mansion.

The bedrooms, elegantly furnished, feature all the modern comforts, and the hotel offers a number of facilities: a restaurant, a bar and an outdoor swimming pool are at your disposal.

Small pets are allowed on request and with prior notice.

Everything was excellent! The room, the staff, the restaurant, the location, the price. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again. Nice walk to Florence city sights, restaurants. Easy access to A1 if driving.

Beautiful location and the desk staff were more than welcoming and helpful. Room was beyond our expectations for size and quality, well worth the 20 minute bus ride out of the main city centre. The morning breakfast was above average and the staff friendly and courteous. Our only concern was over security as we had a ground floor room and the windows and sliding glass door to the patio did not lock. Overhead security doors were provided but the cleaning staff repeatedly raised them and left them open. One time we returned to our room in the evening and our entrance door was left wide open by the cleaning staff; not acceptable.

The hotel was everything we expected it to be and more. Would have liked to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room, but it was provided once we asked for it. All the staff went out of their way to be helpful. One drawback: the hotel did not accept Euro travellers cheques as payment. This ended up costing us 50 Euros as had to cash them back once we got home.

Minor problem w/mosquitos. Difficulty using the European (Italian?) keyboard on the computer. We had the 'triple executive' room, and it was beautiful. Meals in the restaurant were wonderful. The waiters and waitresses were great. Breakfast was good--especially the croissants! I would definitely stay here again.

We had a great time. The hotel's restaurant is worth a visit. The chef is very friendly and the food is very good. The only problem we had was with the air conditioning or lack of it. We complain at the front desk and we were told there was a problem and wasn't going to be fixed for another week. It seems to be a common problem in Italy.

Lovely, large, and nicely furnished room with beautiful full Arno view. Mosquitoes precluded our ability to leave windows open however, screens would be any easy solution. Hotel guests in room next door were extremely loud on their outdoor patio every night of the 4 nights we stayed. (rooms not soundproofed so it is just a "hit or miss" thing with guests though possibly the hotel management could ask guests to move from patios to inside their rooms by midnight)

Located on the river to the rear but a main road to the front, which if you are on the front of the Hotel could be quite noisy in the morning and night (Italians love to use their car horns). Staff are excellent and speak fluent English. Breakfast is the best we had in Italy with a great choice of cereals, eggs/bacon, assorted breads, jams etc, assorted sweet cakes, cheese and ham plus yoghurt and fruit. Evening meals are great with a choice for Vegetarians (something overlooked at the other hotels we stayed in). There is ample parking and the street to the front of the hotel is safe to park on as well. The rooms are excellent and they include so many of those 'little freebies' you'll need an extra case for them! All in all an excellent hotel located about 20 mins from the centre of Florence, but if you need the bus it's only a 5 minute walk away.

Outside of the center of town and on the Arno river so quiet if your room is on the river side. Rooms were very dated. AC didn't work and room was extremely hot. They brought in a fan and later an air conditioner but told us not to use it for a while - we did anyway and it helped. Staff was not particularly friendly - maybe they had been getting complaints from others... Breakfast was fine - typical fare for Italy. The two mile walk to town was okay if you are up for it. Would not return to this hotel, however. It was below my standards for quality, comfort, convenience and friendliness. The pool was a good add for families, however.

The Arno river is not as impressive as one would like to think. It is dirty and not pleasing to look at. However the property Ville Arno was nice and I would definitely return there again. This hotel should not be confused with Hotel Arno which is on the same street but is a shabby, dirty looking building that is not at all very inviting.

Great location. My room was spacious, and the air conditioning was quiet and worked perfectly. The restaurant dining was wonderful and I did not have to fight the crowds in Florence. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel was wonderful. All the staff was very welcoming and helpful. We had a wonderful view of the river which was nice to sit outside and people watch. All the meals were excellent. We ate at the restaurant 4 out of the 5 nights we stayed. Breakfast was also very good. When it came time to leave we didn't want to leave and even thought about booking for next year already. We are planning on staying here again.

We had Dinner at the Ristorante Targa an easy walk from the Hotel 2nd year in a row for both the Hotel and the Ristorante. They are highly recommended by both couples. We especially like the location of the Hotel since it is isolated from the center of the city in a peaceful park like location on the Arno river.

This was a beautiful small hotel overlookig the Arno River, with many balcony rooms. We ate at the restorante there several times and had excellent meals. Since this hotel is about 3 or 4 miles from the interesting parts of Florence, you can taxi in, or, as we did for much less money, take a bus. The #14 bus has a stop about 2 blocks from hotel. You can buy bus tickets at the little cafe beside the stop for 1.20 euros each way. The bus stops at the Duomo. The return bus can be picked up on the side of the Duomo (also #14) and returns a block closer to the hotel. Jane from Maryland USA

nice hotel but not brand new. His location along the Arno makes your staying magic ! Nice and calm view, you can watch people rowing on the river in the morning, while taking your breakfast on the balcony ! the only negative points would be the distance from the center (25 minutes by bus, 1 bus every 30 minutes) and the rooms are a little bit old, but verrrry spacious !

I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. It was good value for money, situated right on the banks of the Arno and just a gentle 25 min walk straight to the Ponte Vecchio at the heart of Florence. Our room was basic, but spacious and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful and having a swimming pool was a joy in the heat of the day!

What a great hotel !! We really enjoyed our stay there. We had a very spacious family suite with a window facing the River Arno. The weather was hot so air conditioning in our room was very welcome as was the pool outside (which was used happily every afternoon & a great relief after sight-seeing during the day). Our room was very clean & the bathroom huge with a great shower & bath. Breakfast was fabulous with a huge selection to choose from. Free parking was available on site at the hotel. The hotel is serviced by an excellent public transport bus system into the city centre which we used daily; tickets were available at the hotels reception. We really enjoyed staying here & would have no hesitation to stay at this hotel again.

The hotel is excellent and the installation of a wifi new system was a nice surprise. The rooms are very sapcious and neat. We could park our car almost at the room door. One little inconvenience is the need to go outside to reach the hotel restaurant which is of a very good quality and offers rather good prices relative to Florence.

The hotel was beyond our expectation. We had an excellent room with huge balcony and river view. The room was worth much more than what i paid. It was so easy to get to the city. Just take one bus which is a block away from hotel and you will be in city within few minutes. The only thing that i regret is why we didn't stay longer. I want to go back to Italy so i can stay longer at this hotel.

The Hotel building is looked very nice. The room is very big but very simple, old fashion furnitures, not very well maintained. Although the price fit the hotel quality, the use of 4 stars is improper. The Hotel has a lot of potential, with some investmant, to become a wonderful place.

Loved this place. We had a beautiful view of the Arno. the room was exceptional. Pool was fantastic. The hotel was farther away from the sites than was represented. It is a good half hr walk to the sites which was fine for us but may not be for everyone. the hotel is on the bus line so it was fine. Take me back!

The only needed improvement at the hotel is the pool area which is outdated, a little deep for children (if families are also what they wish to cater too) and the area need to improve upon the landscape to take better advantage of the small space and view of the river.
