Vacation. This is a a very small hotel located on two floors of an old building. A small elevator takes you to the reception area but you would have to haul your luggage to one floor below as no elevator is available. The breakfast and service was good. Internet was available in the reception area by wire.

Great stay!Great price. We had three rooms for three days with 9 of us. VERY close to main train station. (2 blocks). If you are on a budget (few of us aren't), I highly recommend Alanari. Rooms were fairly large by European standards!

We found this hotel to be wonderful! It was within walking distance of the train station and had a wonderful breakfast! Would recommend it to anyone who wants to see Florence on foot as it is close to the markets, the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and all other main sights to see! Friendly staff was very accomodating!

Great holiday! The hotel is so near to the main sights (walking distance) and its also really easy to make use of local transport and taxis as the hotel is near the station and buses. 7 euros between us for a taxi to Ponte Vecchio (one of our party aged 80) The staff very friendly and helpful although basic English only. This didnt really cause a problem. Breakfast had loads of choice. We rang in advance and checked for a balcony which we got with a room at the back which was very quiet. The walls are thin so a couple of nights were a bit noisy with school parties also staying in the hotel. Clean bathroom of reasonable size with plenty of hot water and a workable shower. A number of restaurants very close to the hotel. Can recommend a stroll down Via Faenza the street close by where we used several really good restaurants with reasonable prices. This also takes you down to the market and the Duomo! The lift is tiny but worked fine (hotel on fourth floor)there is a flight of steps down from reception to the rooms. Finding the hotel was a bit tricky. We arrived by bus from Pisa airport. Find the taxi rank outside the railway station its very easy from there. Walk up to the big pedestrian crossing opposite the entrance to the railway station, cross the road, turn right and Via Nazionale is there on your left. Would happily use again.

Hotel is fine. the officers are really "smiling face" people. we liked them. Hotel is situated in the 3rd and 4th floor of an apartment. elevator seems so vintage but good working. Hotel is preferable if you want to stay close to train station. rooms are small but clean. price is good (breakfast included).

We had a double room for 2 nights. The shower room was a real squeeze, but fully functional once you'd shut the door! Breakfast was ok - cold buffet. Staff were a bit slow in setting up fresh tables and bringing hot drinks. On our second night the air conditioning unit began to leak so all we could hear was it dripping! My partner went to find someone in the night and came back saying the person on duty was alseep on the sofa (and he didn't want to wake him). Eventually the dripping stopped and we got back to sleep. They don't have a luggage store (for when you leave), but allow you to leave bags in the lounge. This was ok, but not at all secure. Apart from the AC unit we had a pleasant stay. The location was great for us as we always travel by train and it's right outside the station. It was also very close to the Duomo (about 5min walk) so we felt central.

The lift to the property is one of the old style -- u have to manually close 2 doors for it to start moving. Shabby entrance on floor. The hotel is on 2 floors (3rd & 4th) and has maybe arond 40 rooms. NOT ALL THE ROOMS HAVE PROPER SHOWERS. On the first night we arrived at 10pm, the receptionist did not speak english. We were given a room right by the reception desk, so could hear the receptionist talking loudly on the phone; was not apologetic when we asked him to keep it down. The bathroom had no shower cubicle and no tub, just a showerhead in the wall and tiled floors; messy. However they were able to move us to a better room the next day, which had a better bathroom. Breakfast ok, tho nothing hot. Room cleaners good, as they did the job. Linen used in the photographs on venere make the rooms look MUCH nicer than they are. the rooms are yuck compared to the photos.

The hotel is located 5 minutes from the train or bus station, which is great. The breakfast is fair. Rooms need to be remodeled.I´ve been to this hotel 12 years ago and it was wonderful. Now it looks like nobody is caring.

The hotel very close to the train station, but a bit difficult to find. We passed it without noticing due to irregular numbering. We were pleasantly surprised by the small size. The elevator was quite small, but workable. The location was well worth it. We walked to everything and found it was the perfect place to be. We discovered a wonderful pizzeria restaurant right down from the hotel that was so good we returned there the following two nights. Next time we go back, we would stay at the ALinari again.

The hotel is located on the top floor, the receptionist was very nice and helpful. While the room was small, it didn't matter since you don't spend much time in the room. My single room (156) had a balcony that overlooked the inside of the courtyard. The shower does overflow if you take a long shower. The hotel is very nicely situated next to the train station and a nice breakfast was available in the mornings. Everyone was really helpful and I would go back again!

Convenient to train station but not the best area of town. Room was decent size and clean. Bathroom on the small side - hairdryer different from anything I'd ever seen. Breakfast was good. The breakfast staff were very friendly and eager to please and breakfast was good. Front desk staff were not at all friendly or helpful. Some construction noise morning until late evening. Lift very small and unreliable. If the interior doors were not closed when last person got off, it would not operate. Overall, would consider staying here again.

The staff was courteous, helpful and knowledgeable. Room was not dusted properly, bathroom were not provided with shower mats, I did not like the type of towels they provide and found a bug on by my pillow. Those are things that can be improoved to make the stay better. We paid great stay rates, so it was a give and take.

Convenient for seeing the sights of Florence, however the entrance to the hotel at street level and the lift were very offputing from the start. The quality of the bath linen was poor. Would not choose to stay in this part of Florence again.

Don't be put off by the outside appearance! Excellent in terms of location. We were travelling around by train and it was literally 5 min walk across the road from the station. Not what we were expecting from the outside, but once inside felt secure. The property was nice, rooms clean and practical, bathroom small but plenty of hot water and decent shower if not compact. Staff helpful and had everything we wanted for our stay in Florence which was taking in the sights. Continental breakfast might be limited for some. Cereal, various breads, yogurt. Overall a pleasant stay.

A difficult hotel to find with a night porter who made Basil Fawlty look like a perfect host. Rooms were small stuffy and hot and the lift catered for the "Little People" with no luggage. Overall a very disappointing stay. NEVER AGAIN!

The room was spacious and clean. The location is great, i.e. right by the train station and close to tourist sights. The room we stayed in was right on the street, so it wasn't all that quiet at night, but it didn't bother us too much. Decent breakfast with a great view from the terrace. We would definitely stay here again.

it was a pleasant 5 night stay at the Alinari. Certainly i will stay again there should I go to Florence in the future. It is close to the train station and to the centre and all attractions. The room is airconditioned and have double-glazed window thus ensuring that no traffic noise is heard from the inside. One little complaint - shower cubicle was rather small. Good healthy breakfast and very friendly staff. Well done!!

The hotel is located in the 4th floor of a horrible, dark and unsafe building. The lift is terrible. The parking is far and very expensive(20 euros). The staff is rude and unfriendly. The room is dirty and smells musty. The air-conditioning doesn't work well.

Very nice staff. Breakfast fine. Howevery, the bathroom towels very terrible - like big napkins. I want to use this space to talk a little bit about the venere.com website. First of all I think it’s an excellent service and a great website. However, in the “review section” of the website it has always gotten on my nerves what they call "which type of user are you". I can understand that different users have different needs when traveling, for example people with kids vs. a group of friends. But to make a difference between "heterosexual couples" and "homosexual couples" is both embarrassing and rude. I think the demands and needs of couples, regardless to their sexual orientation, is pretty similar and to suggest otherwise is offensive to everyone.

Unfortunately, prices of Firrenze Hotel are very expensive so the hotel Alinari offer a good price/quality compared to other hotels. A good point is that the hotel is very near from the station and from the center at the same time

We, my wife and me, were at the Alinari Hotel from August 20 to 28 at the XXXII International Geological Congress and our stay was very good. Also the night from September 4 to 5. We have only two small complaints: Service elevator from the building and shower space at the bathroom were very limited (too small)You have always problems to fit in!

My biggest problem with this Hotel is the fact that they advertise a/c in the rooms when infact there is not. We were forced to have the windows which in and of itself is not a problem, but because of the location on a busy street. there was lots of noise all night. We did not enjoy the stay at this hotel.

The map directions could have been more detailed. We walked past the entrance which is a gate to a courtyard behind. The reception was clean & tidy, but the receptionist was not over friendly. Our room was lovely, really big with a balcony overlooking the courtyard with lovely rooftop views. Breakfast was typical continental, so no surprises. Overall, we found the location of the hotel to be very convenient to all the main sights and the station and we would definately stay there again.
