Location...Location...location!!! This little treasure is located just steps from the Duomo and just a few blocks from Accademia and the Uffizi. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Hotel Aldini

Hotel Aldini surprized me completely. Our triple room was very spacious and clean. Very well kept. The bathroom is completly new. The staff was very kind during the whole stay. The location and surroundings are priceless. Everything makes Hotel Aldini a Champion of relationship between price and quality. I hope they keep everything like this for long time. I would like to go back there.

If you want a reasonably priced room in the middle of Florence, this hotel is great. It is literally 1/2 block from the front corner of the Duomo and there is plenty of shopping and restaurants. It is also an easy walk to Piazza Vecchio (Uffizi), Ponte Vecchio, train station and all the other important attactions in Florence.

This little hotel was wonderful value and its location is super to explore and enjoy all the sights of Florence, a beautiful city and compact to walk around. Will be glad to revisit this city in the future. Be sure to get to see David as it is a awe inspiring work of art. best to get into museums late in day when crowds have gone.

Excellent position, the best location to stay in Florence!!!!! Receptionist/?owner is not very happy man, but professional. Breakfast is poor, but sufficient. Rooms are spacious, quiet and clean. We had a bathroom in the room which was clean. Recommended!

It's a two star hotel and I pretty much got what I paid for. Hotel Aldini is a bit difficult to find. It's on the 3rd floor (piano 3) of a building. On the first floor (piano 1) of the building is apartments. On the second floor (piano 2) of the building is another hotel (Hotel Constantini). The elevator (lift) rarely works and is incredibly small so when I first arrived at the hotel I was exhausted carrying my luggage all the way up the stairs. The young lady at the front desk of Hotel Aldini was kind enough to carrying one of my bags to my room. The staff was nice. You have to leave the hotel key with whoever is at the front desk whenever you want to leave the hotel. The breakfast was good. I just had cereal and orange juice whenver I at there. Some of my minor problems with the hotel is that the hotel is old and a bit shabby, I didn't have a good view from my window (I couldn't really even open the shutters), and the bidet was way too close to the entrance and exit of the shower. This hotel is good for anyone who just wants to have a secure place to keep there luggage while out site seeing and having a nice place to sleep at night.

My wife and I, stayed at hotel Aldini and it was wonderful for us. It isn't a big hotel, but we felt in it, very comfortable and pretty well attended by the employees. Besides it's location is so good, at a few steps from Duomo. We would like to stay at Aldini Hotel in our next visit to Florence.

Surprise...."air conditioning isn't available until summer". Our room was hot but with the windows open we got nice cross ventilation. Unfortunately, there was too much street noise to leave the window open until well after midnight. And, oh yes, the bells of the Duomo are loud at 7 am. Other than those items, everything was fine. Don't forget that Europeans do not use wash cloths, so bring your own, also the pillows leave a bit to be desired.

For being right in the centre of Florence, this hotel is fantastic. Friendly staff, nice clean room, and quiet even though it was so close to the action. My only quibble is the breakfast - packaged croissants and packaged toast. And I would have killed for an espresso! But all in all, a great stay. Highly recommended.

This was our first visit to Florence and we loved it!!! The location of the hotel was amazing, as we were in the center of everything (right by the Doumo and Baptistry). We had a triple rm at the Aldini hotel for three nights. It was always kept clean and we loved having ironed linens! The breakfast was very simple but always fresh. And the owners were very nice and helpful, Elizabeth especially!

The hotel is a good balance of quality and price: it was quite clean but the furniture was a bit old and the blanket seemed to be not perfectly new. The breakfast was frugal, but location is the best possible place - right in the heart of Florence, near Duomo, the central cathedral. The hotel is a perfect choice for 1-3 nights stay.

Although my room (nr.115) was a bit tiny (my colleague's room nr. 103 was more spacious with a mini-bar for same price) I had a wonderful stay at Aldini's (hosts' cheerful welcoming, nice breakfast, free booking of la galleria degli Uffizi and of the taxi, fantastic starting point for all visits in Firenze, very good price/quality ratio). I'll go back there for sure !

This hotel is fine. It's in a great location but there is not really any nice views out any of the windows. The location is convenient and feels very safe. The rooms are clean though the bathrooms are quite worn. The breakfast is barely acceptable but it was good enough. The breakfast room is small and if you get there and it's already full they ask you to come back in awhile. They asked me to wait in the adjoining lobby for a table and then the people left and the table was being cleaned and some new people walked in and took the table and the staff just shrugged their shoulders at me. Anyway, it was okay. I probably won't stay there again if I can plan ahead enough because I know better places in Florence. However, it was certainly adequate and I would stay here again if I needed to.

Location, location. The Aldini is literally next to the Duomo. You can see the campanile from some rooms (I did). My room was spanking clean. So was the bathroom. The room was microscopic however and the mattress was tired. This is the kind of hotel that was a $10 a night pension in 1970 with air-conditioning and hair dryers added to make it a two-star hotel. The breakfast was inadequate. The bread was stale and featured pre-packaged cornetti. The staff was generally helpful. They allowed me to check in early and even rushed to clean the room when I showed up at 11AM. There is nothing special to commend the place but the location-which is unbeatable.

My wife and I were booked here for 3 nights but were completely dissatified with the cleanliness of the room. The website also advertised that they had air conditioning. When questioned why AC was not working at night receptionist told us it only worked from 1-9pm!?! We left after 1 night!

room was quite clean. it took me over 1 hour to find the hotel! but it wasnt the hotel fault i guess. the hotel shares the same building with a different hotel. so there is no sign on the building. and with the strange street numbering in italy, it is so hard to find the place. be warned. the wifi only works in the common area not in your room. the breakfast could have been offered as an option. as i rather go out for breakfast. service was quite friendly though.

I lived in Florence for 5 years as a student in the 70's. I try to go back often and location is the most important aspect of any property for me. This hotel could not be more central or easy to find. The amount of time I spend in my room is minimal which was good since it was small. The reason the price was so low (45 euros-single) was because it was loud. The street noises woke me up almost every night. I like air in my room so the windows were open. It was cool enough to close them which didn't really help. My friend from London stayed down the hall also in a single and could hear the people in the next room talking quite clearly. I've had the same problem no matter where I've stayed in the center. If the outside noises don't wake me then the evelvators or other guests do. I would stay there again because I'm interested in saving money and the owners/employees were great. My room was spotless and very comfortable. Annie 3/24/08

Very central - the Duomo is literally round a corner, so you do hear the bells clearly!! We had a room round the back, so no street noise at all. Room was moderate in size, but the shower room was well appointed and clean. The hotel itself was quiet except for the door locks which were heavy key locks and were impossible to open/close quietly. Breakfast was basic but fine and they did make us really hot coffee with hot milk when asked! Most of the city is within walking distance, but be sure to take the bus to Piazzale Michelangelo to see the city from above and take good photos, but beware of poor air quality/pollution at times. The free Wifi in public areas worked well. This was our first stay at the Aldini but we'd stay there again and we'd readily recommend it as a convenient budget hotel for Florence.

The Hotel Aldini is places in the center of Florenze. Form some rooms you have a view to the cupola of the famous dome. In less than 1 Minute you have reached the dome! Since the hotel is placed in the center, sometimes it´s very loud in the evening. The breakfast is a typical italien breakfast (cofee, tee, jam, white bread and zwieback). The rooms are appropriate for short stays in Florence and it´s convenient for tourists, discover Florenze. Unforthunately the Service is bad: When we asked for fist-aid (on Sunday evening!) we were told to go to the next apothecary! No one helped us! On the last day, after checkin gout, we were told that the elevetor did not work (Service) and we had to carry our bags ourself. The hotel is situated in the third floor of the building! If you don´t need any service, if you are pleased with a appropriate but not comfortabel room and if you make apoint on having a room in the center of Florenze, then take a room in hotel Aldini.

The location was great, since almost everything is within an easy stroll. However, the room was dimly lighted, it didn't feel clean, or even a space my wife and I felt comfortable relaxing in. The bed linens seemed worn down and dirty and we did discover a cockroach crawling on our bed in the evening.

This is a potentially superb little hotel in a great central location right beside the Duomo. Unfortunately, most of the staff were disinterested in the customer (to point of rudeness in some cases). While my room was reasonably spacious for a single room in budget hotel in this part of Europe, the wiring was very poor and arguably dangerous.

This was our fourth visit to Florence and this location can't be beat if you are in Florence to see the sights and not lounge around the hotel. It is almost across the street from the Duomo, on a main pedestrian route, Via Calzauoli. The room was small but clean, the AC worked but the internet didn't , the bed was comfortable but the decor was dated. We didn't have a chance to enjoy the included breakfast because we had to leave at 5am. The desk staff arranged a wake-up call and a cab for 5am for the airport. Hotel was ok but we preferred the hotel one floor down in the same building that we had stayed at on a previous stay.

I am a coeliac and had advised the hotel on the website, but they made no effort to provide anything for breakfast for me in terms of bread, which is readily available if you look. Luckily enough they had some food I could eat by chance, but not because they made an effort. My room was just not cleaned one day. Air conditioning is also very loud. You also had to leave your key in when leaving, rather than keep it, which meant you need to use a safety deposit box quite a lot. Location is excellent with lots of good eats around... you won't be disappointed... Overall I think this accomodation is a good choice.

The Hotel Aldini was centrally located. We had a large room that faced the main street, the rooms are not "sound proofed" but we discovered ear plugs are helpful. They also had access to the internet by purchasing a user card (E5 per hour) which was great. The breakfast was good, they had a delicious cereal with milk and yogurt along with the usual rolls. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay there again and recommend it to anyone.

Absence of air conditioning. The hotel is located in the third floor of an old building and usually the elevator is out of order. Excellent location just at the corner of the Duomo and in one of the main streets of Firenze. Modest decoration; seems more a B&B rather than a hotel.

I have now stayed at the Aldini twice, the second time for twelve nights. Because of the location of the hotel and even though my room was in the back, there were many shops and/or workshops that sometimes were noisy into the evening. One night an alarm went off five times, but this was an exceptional occurance. Despite the sometime noise, the location cannot be topped very easily.

Great location near the Duomo. Staff was friendly and competent and all spoke enough English for us to communicate well. The breakfast was pretty skimpy, just rolls and coffee/tea. This was our first time in Venice - the hotel was a little hard to find (being down a very small alley way) but that was our only complaint. Excellent choice for the location conscious traveller. The staff was friendly and efficient. An unassuming entrance and a worrisome foyer is more typical of the pensione legacy than the more accomodating hotels that have been replacing them. We found the Aldini to be quite satisfactory for all our needs. We were expecting a grandious view of the Duomo and were disapointed with only a tangential shot from the breakfast room. We found this to be a basic but comfortable stay within walking distance of all of Firenze's sites.

The hotel was right in the city center. Kind of hard to find if you don´t have a city map but with some patience and asking around you can eventually get there. The room was nice but could´ve been a bit larger for 3 people. A/C did not work and leaving the windows open right next to the Duomo requires some getting used to because of the noise. The hotel employees were very friendly and helpful but if you want to stay healthy do not ask them for a good restaurant to go eat at :-( Breakfast was typically euorpean with rolls, marmelade and cereal. This might be something Americans might have a little problem with. Our stay in Florence was wonderful and this hotel the perfect location for people who like to do a lot of walking around during the day and some partying in the evening.

I very much enjoyed staying at the Aldini and I found it superior in almost every way to the 3 star hotel I stayed at in Rome before coming to Florence. The one major drawback was that the TV did not have a channel in English such as CNN. I don't watch much, but I like to keep up with the news. Also the shower was one of those that required some mopping up on the floor after use, but that was hardly a problem since the bathroom was so big.

Very nice little hotel right in the centre of Florence. Staff friendly and helpful, room spacious and very clean. It's quite a noisy location, but with the windows shut it's not a problem. The hotel is on the 3rd floor of the building, so doesn't have it's own entrance at street level - but if you look out for the signs, it's easy enough to find. The entrance and lift areas aren't very special, but once you get into the hotel itself, it's very nice. The only problem that we had was that the hotel's credit card reader wouldn't accept our card (which worked fine everywhere else) - don't know if it was a problem with the hotel's connection, or if the credit clearing company was experiencing problems. We'd advise that you make sure you've got plenty of cash or another means of payment, just in case you get caught out.

I travelled to Florence with my girlfriend in November 2006 for a cheap few days away. We were so glad we stayed at the hotel aldini. It was the easiest hotel to find we have been to. We used the terravision shuttle service and from the drop off point just headed for the Duomo (knowing from pictures on venere.com that it is very close by) Once in front of the duomo (standing at the front looking at the doors) the hotel is in the first street on the right - just after the poggi shop. Anyway, the hotel was lovely. For someone on a budget it was great without cutting any corners - in fact it exceeded our expectations. The shower room (no bath) was surprisingly big. The main attraction fo this hotel of course is its location and view. We were lucky enough to have a room overlooking the street (street noise was not a problem - a few mechanical street sweepers and that was it). Looking from our window/balcony, you can see the duomo. I cannot stress this enough. The duomo is literally less than 100 metres away. we travelled in November when the price was 69 euro for the room per night. Berakfast was nice. Various croissants, cakes and bread, along with orange juice and tea. The hotel staff were welcoming and friendly when assistance was required without being overbearing. One word of warning, not regarding the hotel but the area in which it lays is that, remember, the duomo is a main tourist attraction - so the surrounding shops are very very expense. a 5 min walk to the san marco square area found us some cans of pop and lager 4 times cheaper than supermarkets beside the hotel and duomo. So, in conclusion, I would very highly recommend this hotel, for its spacious rooms, amazing location and views, friendly staff and, for us at least, very reasonably priced.

The hotel is absolutely excellent if all you want is a spacious, clean room right in the centre of Florence. The breakfast is a little austere but the fabulous views and relatively low cost more than makes up for this. Perfect for people who just want somewhere nice to sleep in the very centre of town.

Room was very hard to find and much further than expected from main hotel. Although the desk said they sent directions I never received them.

Basic, clean and relatively comfortable. Bedroom and bathroom size were decent. Whatever the hotel lacked in charm it made up for in location - right by the Duomo therefore very centrally located and within a 15 minute walk from the train station.

You can't beat the location for the price. Place is hard to find because there is only a placque on the wall at the front door. Aldini shares space with another hotel in the building. Elevator is small but sufficient for luggage, but we had to walk up the stairs once because someone had the elevator stopped on another floor. Minor complaints, really, and we would stay there again. It's location on a quaint, narrow street flanked with shopping is an asset. (Although the streets say pedestrian only, you are allowed to drive your car to the hotel. Parking is 24 euros, and it is picked up by a valet. Suggest you park near Il Duomo, walk to the hotel and register, then get the car and return with your luggage. Breakfast was a little Spartan (breads only), but there are so many pasticcheri around that it is not a problem (walk out of the hotel, go right, right at the first street and look on your left). See more information on this hotel, and others, along with photos of our trip, at http://www.tuscanimpressions.com. The only way you could be closer to Il Duomo would be to sleep in the piazza.

Room was very large, bathroom was fine but shower curtain could have used a replacement. We could very clearly hear people passing by in the hallway. The service at the front desk was very nice. Breakfast wasn't anything special--packaged pastries, crackers and bread. All in all, it was fine for the price.

Our stay at the Aldini was fine- the rooms were nice and the location great. Our only real problem was that we bought tickets to do the city tour from the person at the front desk and so we went out a bus stop by the Duomo to start the tour, stood in the rain for over an hour and finally gave up. We got our money back for the tickets but were very disappointed to have wasted the time. Turns out the bus tour did not start at that stop until 10:30 ( we went out there at 9:00). Seems to me if you are going to sell tickets, your personnel should KNOW the related details. The girl at the desk was very apologetic but it was frustrating to say the least. Otherwise, the Aldini was a perfectly fine place to stay.

It was a very convenient location - so close to the Duomo. Two of the three staff members were very helpful. The lobby area isn't fancy or very nice, but the rooms were fine. The shower floor mat was broken - but the water pressure and temperature were great - a plus in our book.

The location of the Hotel Aldini is wonderful. The room was clean and comfortable. I would definately consider staying here on our next visit to Florence.

Clean room, very helpful (and English speaking) staff. Nice, quiet, central location (although rooms weren't as quiet as described on website). Great place to stay in Florence, would recommend it to others.

One of the receptionists smoked too much and stunk up the lobby and hallways

The Hotel was excellent as a launching pad to see all that the city had to offer. It was fantastic to be able to walk out of the hotel everyday and see the Doumo. We would definitely stay here again.

This is not a hotel for everyone. We like traveling close to the ground, so this was perfect for us. The hotel is on the third floor (fourth floor to Americans) of a building just a 100 meters or so from the Duomo, right in the heart of historic Florence. The rooms were spacious, but a bit spartan. Breakfast was the only real negative. Dry pastries, no meat. The staff was helpful in scheduling appointments for the Uffizi and the Academia. I would stay there again.
