The perfect place to retreat after an uncomfortable 4 nights in a B & B. Upgraded to larger room at check-in. Quiet, low key, unpretentious. Beautiful neighborhood. Excellent breakfast. Helpful staff. I did not want to leave.

This is a very well located hotel with a very nice and helpful staff. The service is very professional. The breakfast is very good, abundant, fresh, fast service. Rooms have above average size for europeans hotel. Rooms and bathrooms were very clean. The only relative disadvantage for not so young travelers is the stairs that must be climbed to reach the reception and the elevator located at the first floor. However the bellboy took care of our luggage at the main entrance on the street level.

The Albergotto was excellent. The pictures on Venere don't do the hotel justice. The front desk was more than helpful with directions and suggestions for any request. The location is central to any major attraction. Street noise is a problem for open windows.

It's very important to know that there are two long flights of stairs to climb before arriving at the elevator which takes you to the reception. This hotel would not work for someone who is especially elderly or disabled. However, the room we had looked out onto Palazzo Strozzi and had a good bit of light and a very large bathroom, so was most pleasant. There is a charming sitting room with a very English feel. Our room had a tea kettle and tea bags, which would have been nice, had we wanted a cup of tea before breakfast (in the English fashion) or before bed. The linens were excellent and Monica at the desk helped with dinner reservations and good advice on dining. The location is, of course, excellent, within easy walking distance of all major sights. If I could afford it, I'd stay for several months!

Very disapointing hotel. Couldn't understand why it is rated as a four star hotel. The furniture was old and not very clean, the room was small and had the smallest TV i ever seen in my life. Cleaners shouted in the corridors in the morning. This hotel is a correct 2 star , very bad relionship price/quality.

It is a wonderful cute hotel in a great location. Very central to everything including the best shopping in the area. The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. It was our favorite place to stay and i would recommend it to everyone. We went for our 10th anniversary and put that in our comments when booking. The staff had a beautiful bottle of wine and a note waiting for us in the room. They gave us a wonderful room with an incredible view. It was so quiet with the windows closed and so very loud with them open. I would caution older people that there is a flight of stairs to enter the hotel. The porter handled the bags up it, but their is no elevator access to the ground floor. The breakfast in the mornings were very nice. Really I have nothing but compliments for this hotel.

This was my second time to Firenze and I will be visiting again and again. There is more to see in Firenze than can be accomplished in only a few visits. The Albergotto Hotel was very nice. The front desk personnel are well versed in English and other languages. They are very helpful and will go the extra mile to find out times and places of events. Make sure to specify that you would like a view of the street if you book online as we checked in for a 5-day stay and were put in a dark room with only a small high corner window and an alley view. I became clostrophobic immediately. In order to change rooms, it cost us an extra 200 Euros for the stay. We were offered to change rooms the next day for the same rate, however, chose to upgrade so that we could settle in and begin our visit. The breakfast is lovely, moderate, but if you have to have a protein based breakfast, you can find it here. We felt that although the room was large and clean, the cost was double the price of our fantastic hotel in Sorrento, and will possibly shop around the next time for a better value. The people and service were great and other than the inflated price, I would recommend staying here. The location is closer to the termini than the map suggests. Just go straight down past the Santa Maria Novella piazza and take a left on a side road to Tournabuone. Use google maps for walking directions.

Only drawback is the flight of stairs up to the lift, need to be quite fit. Otherwise excellent value and location for this time of year. Might be a bit busy and noisy in the summer. This was our 2nd stay and would stay here again in winter.

Our Albergotto experience was wounderful. The staff could not have been more helpful, efficient and organized. The room (and bathroom) were roomy, clean and well equiped. Only minor complaint was that if you need the windows open (for ventilation or temperature adjustments) the noise can be bothersome. Also the stairs to the first level are mildly annoying after a long day of sight seeing, (we saw this at other hotels aroud town). Lugging luggage is not a problem as the bell staff is always there to help. Overall a great, friendly place in a great area of town that delivers what it advertises and we would not hesitate to stay there again.

A pleasant hotel in a convenient neighbourhood. We were upgraded to a lovely spacious room with large bathroom, both spotlessly clean. The only downside was the night-time noise from the street below even though we were on the third floor. This seems to be a common problem in Florence. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

We loved the location of this hotel which was smack in the middle of what we wanted out of a holiday which was shopping and sightseeing. This is the place to stay if you love shopping for designer goods. This hotel is really lovely but be prepared to walk up the flight of steps before reaching the reception area. People with bad knees and walking problems, this hotel is not for you!! Can you imagine lugging your baggage up all these steps? Apart from this, this is a lovely hotel and a plus point is wifi internet is FREE!!!!! Our room which overlooks Via Tournobuoni can be quite noisy especially early morning when you want to sleep late and get woken up by noisy traffic passing the street below. The hotel can do with sound proof windows. The hotel rooms are quite pricey but worth it.

I highly recommend this hotel. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the location is convenient to many tourist sites. The breakfast was also very good. Although unassuming at first glance, Hotel Albergotto turned out to be an excellent choice for a quick stay in Florence. It seems to have been recently renovated, the rooms and public areas are pristine and decorated with quiet good taste. The location is excellent, short walk from train station, close to Duomo area. The rooms were a little small but provided all necessities. It would seem to appeal to business travelers as well as tourists.

The Albergotto is a jewel. Convenient to everything Florence has to offer. While the steps to the hotel itself were no problem for us, it would be wise to let people know they need the ability to climb 30 or so stairs to reach the elevator. No question that we will make the Albergotto our address in Florence on any future trips.

The hotel was perfect for our short stay in Florence. It is so well located and in a very nice area of the city, only a short walk to all the sites and the River. Each room had its own air conditioning, which was much needed at the heat of the summer, and in turn, allowed us to close the large windows/doors at night for a quiet night's sleep. Beds were very comfortable, bathroom was newly renovated, view was good from room, breakfast was delicious, and the multilingual staff were more than helpful on guiding us on where to go as well as making all reservations for restaurants and museums. We will definitely stay here on any future returns to the city and HIGHLY recommend it to others.

Our experience with the Albergotto was absolutely magnificient! The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, competent and always willing to assist with restaurant and sightseeing recommendations, as well as, travel arrangements. Both of our rooms (Superior Double accomodations) were spacious by European standards and contained all of the necessary amenities. The location was perfect. It's central to all of Florence, 15 minutes to the train station, 10 minutes to the Doumo, Republic square and del Vechio (sp?). Without a doubt it is our first choice for future accomodations in Florence!
