Stayed 1 night. Short walk from the train station and good location to see all the sights round Florence. Clean room, good shower and OK breakfast. No compliants. EUR65 for a double which seemed a reasonable deal compared with EUR95 for the same standard hotel in Pisa. Would recommend for short stays.

The hotel was in a great location, close to the central train station. This was my first time in Florence & the people at the hotel were very helpful with hints on where to go. The San Lorenzo markets were just minutes from the hotel and all the other major attractions were within walking distance of the hotel. The restaurant next door to the hotel served great local food and reasonably priced. Compared to other hotels in Italy that we stayed, the rooms at The Accademia were spacious and the breakfast room had a good range of food. There are cheap internet cafes in the same street as the hotel, just a few minutes walk away. Would stay here again!

Accademia was a great place to stay in Florence. It is close enough to the train station to make it convenient, and in easily walked Florence, close to the sights as well. It is located on a nice little street with shopping and restaurants close by. The owner also has a restaurant nearby which we enjoyed very much. The room was clean and was what we were promised. We had very pleasant service from the first greeting on. I would stay there again.

This was our fifth trip to Florence - all stays were at different hotels. Hotel Accademia was the best value we have found so far. The staff was very helpful and nice. The room was extremely clean and a little larger than expected for the price. Overall, a great stay.

This was a very pleasant stay. Great location. Very friendly helpful staff. Very spacious room, very good large power shower, good buffet breakfast but come out sooner rather than later or all the croissants have gone!Quite noisy though as our room was near the kitchen and could hear preparing breakfast early in the morning, and on the other side the street, could hear emptying of bins etc. Room was a bit warm at times as aircon switched itself off during night, but overall great highly recommended and good price.

Stayed one night as a stop over whilst travelling from Siena to Rimini. The hotel is less than a 10min walk from the train station in an ideal location for the Dormo side of town. The late booking of a double room upgrade for the price of a single was a very good price. The steps to enter the hotel may not suite some people and the roadwork's at the minute makes it into an obstacle course to reach Any noise though cannot be heard within the hotel. The double room / bathroom were clean, average size but nice and cool with the air-con The facilities are very basic for the breakfast plus the area to sit in after a long day is just a very small enclosed courtyard with a table. For price and a nights stay at this hotel it is quite a good option. Anything longer I personally would look for better outdoor facilities. It is ideal though for leaving your bag after checking out and picking up on your way back to the train station after a days exploring.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Accademia. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They all spoke english very well. The room was great for the 4 of us, and sometimes 5. They put an extra single bed in the room for our 3rd son who was living in Florence. It was a perfect location, steps from the San Lorenzo church and market. Very convenient. It was a great value. I would definetly stay there again.

Nice place with Florence character. Everybody speaking English and ready to help you. Perfect location on side street but full of people during a day and small restaurants next door. Just few steps from St. Lorenzo church.

The location was ideal. Close enough from the train station to walk. The room was a little chilly - they said the "engines" were broken. A lot of stairs - up to the lobby and up to the rooms. If you have any kind of disability, this may not be the place for you. Otherwise, a very excellent place.

First, we would go back to this hotel. Great price, seemed safe, easy walk to train, Duomo and Uffizzi Only complaintS, steep steps up to reception and no elevator or help from staff, shower in room 21 leaks all over the floor, leaving a very large puddle every night for us to clean up.

If in Florence, or intending to do so, stay at Hotel Accademia. It was superb. It is 12-15 mins walk from the train station. It has friendly, bi-lingual staff who appear to like working there. It is within 100m from a number of excellent restaurants. It has a laundry service for 8 euro for 3kgs of gear, which is two beers, speaking of which, it has a top Irish pub two doors down the street. It is excellently located in order for you to negotiate yourself around the city on foot. It had a number of maps and a good number of brochures which were very useful. It is very well maintained. The room we had had an outstanding bathroom, with heaps of room and a big shower, which was in stark comparison to some other cupboard sized bathrooms we'd had previously, and for 90 euro a night you'd be hard pressed to get better value in the centre of Florence.

This is a pleasant, small hotel in a very good location. On our first night we had a room at the back which was a bit noisy in the morning. We then moved to another, quieter room which suited us very well. The owner and staff were friendly and helpful.

I was definetely pleased with my stay at Academia and sorry that we only spent one night there. We arrived in the pouring rain/snow whcih made it somewhat difficult to negotiate our luggage along the cobblestone streets from the train station. Unfortunately, our room was not ready upon arrival but we were permitted to keep our luggage in a 'common room' while we went sightseeing. Wish that the hotel provided some basic maps of the area which would have avoided alot of our 'going in circles' to find certain sites. The room was excellent-'best shower of the trip' according to my daughter. Elegant bedspreads and ample TV stations. The outside of the hotel is deceiving but once inside, the marble floors were just what I expected after reading the reviews on this site. The breakfast (which was included) was the BEST we had our entire trip. A bountiful buffet of choices. Personnel at the desk were most congenial and helpful. Would definetely recommend this hotal and stay again if given the opportunity.

This hotel was a joy after our experience in Rome. The staff was wonderful and friendly. The rooms were cleaned every day. I think the bathroom was the cleanest I have ever seen. The decor is beautiful and comfortable. The rooms were delightfully warm (we came in February). All over an excellent hotel, with quality far exceeding the price. We booked two nights on venere.com and asked for an extended stay when we arrived. The third night seemed to be more expensive, but we assumed this was because we did not book in advance. It was still incredible value for money. We would return beyond any shadow of a doubt, and strongly recommend it to a friend.

This hotel is centrally located which makes everything within walking distance. The rooms are very tidy and normal-sized. The breakfast was amazing and gave a great start to every day! The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful - we felt very welcome in this hotel! Overall our stay was excellent.

The only reservation we had was that we found the stairs difficult, my wife is 70. When we arrived we found our room was on the 2nd floor, but we were moved immediately next morning. Reservations were made by reception at museums and galleries, and the recommeded restaurant was perfect. Despite the stairs would happily return.

we stay 4 nights in Accademia and we were very pleased of the choice of this hotel very well located in the center of the town. Welcoming was very nice with people speaking french.Room was cute and quiet.Only one remark:the temperature in room and public areas was good in the evening but too low in the morning. Generally speaking, the Accademia is a very pleasant place to stay in Florence and we will strongly recommend it.

Apart from the difficulty in locating the hotel (Via Faenza has dual street-numbering!), the accommodation was excellent. Our room was probably the quietest in the hotel, and the most spacious (no. 16 at the rear). We were situated right outside San Lorenzo church and market. The Duomo and railway station were 2 minutes away. We ate in the restaurant adjacent to the hotel which was superb. I would thoroughly recommend the Accademia.

Pros: spacious room, friendly staff, convenient location close to train station and close to Duomo. Cons: 1am curfew since they don't have a 24 hour doorman. every morning at 4am the street vendors begin moving their carts which creates an awful racket on the streets. Since the rooms had been newly renovated the molding around the bathroom door fell apart, landing on my head (but i didn't get hurt). Otherwise, we had a pleasant stay.

We stayed in several spots in Italy and this hotel was reasonable compared to the others in regard to price and what we got for our money. Excellent position, good beds, so have to pay for that. Very clean, good sized rooms. Good breakfast. Helpful staff. Arrange your parking before arrival if you have a vehicle as is very expensive in Florence. Very noisy nightclub out back, especially on the weekend, so take your earplugs.

Very easy walk from station, nice street & neighborhood. Perfect location for sites. Same buffett food as all other hotels. Rooms with street view looked better and brighter if a little noise and church bells are not an issue. Rooms are plain but clean.

Hotel Accademia was very close to Duomo and the center of the city. There were a lot of steps to climb up, but it was very clean and nice. I had a double room with huge bathroom ($150/night), which was very nice as well. The room was at the back so it was very quiet. The staffs were friendly and informative. I will definitely go back to Hotel Accademia.

The prices of the rooms are all the same. Some of the rooms are much better equipped. Some of them less equipped. Our room was situated with view on the road-side. That means that the noise of the market and the (drunken) people was obvious and heareble. If one doesn't like the noise ask for a room in the inner part of the albergho

We loved the place. Great location not far from the train station. The only complaint we had was our room location above the street was especially noisy at night. If you use this establishment, ask for a room in the back. Otherwise very accomodating business. We will use it when we go back

We booked a room checking "special offers" The offer was based on a reduced price of the double (70€ instead 90€) At the check out i had to pay 90€ at the same The employe said to me that it wasn't possible to have this price because it doesn't exist But you can still find it on Accademia's site Real bad

This quant little Hotel is set in the heart of Floreces'market area, making all the wonderful sites, shops and great resturants within 5mins walking distance. The hotel itself offers true Firenze decor that is rich, warm and welcoming as is the staff. A great base in a city with so much to offer and definately suited to the traveller who likes to explore the back streets as well as the tourist sites. This is one of my favourite cities in which I have stayed many times, this hotel has to be the best i have stayed in to date and I will use it again as it completes the True Italian experience.

The Accademia staff was wonderful, and the common rooms (reception, salon, breakfast room, terrace) were lovely. However, the room we stayed in had peeling wallpaper, dirty floors, a damp and musty bathroom, and an overabundance of mosquitoes and a few fleas. It was not a comfortable sleeping environment, and it colored our view of Florence.
