Brunelleschi Hotel - Florence
Via Santa Elisabetta - Florence
877-662-6988This Florence hotel is a result of the union between two carefully preserved historic structures, Torre Bizantina della Pagliuzza and the medieval church San Michele in Palchetto. After a complete restoration which maintained many valuable original architectonic characteristics, the complex offers a modern hotel offering the most advanced of facilities and services.
An ideal base for business and leisure travel alike, the Hotel Brunelleschi features an array of on-site guest amenities including an excellent restaurant, available for exclusive dinner parties, banquets and ceremonies, a splendid panoramic roof terrace, full concierge services and Wi-Fi technology throughout the building. I have stayed @ Brunelleschi 3 times since Dec 2007 and I find it to be a very fine hotel. Close to everything yet hidden away from the crowds and noise. I am disappointed that we were not able to have a room which was recently renovated. Our room was comfortable but in need of remodeling.Maybe this will occur on my next visit. Thank you

This is a historically significant hotel very close to the Duomo. It is conveniently located near some fabulous italian restaurants. The Room itself was the only real issue. My girlfriend and I each had our own room. The Bedroom was small, but no problem for a single traveller. The sheets/linens were absolutely pristine. Bathroom was large and immaculately maintained. Air conditioning worked great! Outstanding service by all personnel (reception, servers, housekeeping, etc.)

Didn't think the price paid for the room reflected the quality. I booked a single and double room. THe single room was very small and noisy. The bed wasn't comfortable. The only thing of note was the location of the hotel. I would not recommend this hotel.

You know you've really got to have had a pretty bad experience in a hotel when you feel the need to log on to rate the place within a few days of getting home. I don't know what part of the hotel they were featuring on the website but the parts we saw, including our creepy, dingy room, and the labyrinthine gerbil cage hallways, looked like they hadn't been cleaned or painted since the 70's. Our room was dated and had awful cheap paneling. One of the twin beds was like sleeping on a slab in a surgical theatre. It required two creaky, anxiety inducing elevator rides and at least several hundred meters walk just to get up to our third floor room. The staff were really unfriendly, but I have found that to be the case in Florence in other places as well. We too were sequestered in an airless, dark meeting space for breakfast, as all of the few breakfast tables were filled. All in all, for $320 per night, this hotel's only positive was the location.

Apart from its many excellent qualities this hotel is a no go area for anyone with the slightest disability.Even given the design limitations no attempt has been made to facilitate travellers with walking sticks or aids.A few extra handrails or ramps would not interfere greatly with the archictectural integrity. The staff were extremely helpful.

Hotel is located in a strategic position for those looking for shopping in the hearth of Florence. Location is not convenient for peapole arriving by car: access to the hotel is critical for it's in pedestrian area of the city.

Some staff members helpful, some were not. Room was very noisy, small, bed was like sleeping on the floor. Stayed here for 3 days, would never stay here again. Location was pretty central to main attractions in Florence, but the city is very small and there are several other options one could choose.

WE LOVED THIS HOTEL IN FLORENCE. WE ARRIVED AT NIGHT SO WE COULD NOT SEE ANYTHING, BUT WHEN WE GOT UP THE NEXT DAY AND OPENED THE SHUTTERS THERE WAS THE DOME AND THE TOWER RIGHT OUTSIDE THE WINDOW. I WOULD STAY THERE ANY TIME THE STAFF WAS PERFECT

We got a fantastic deal with Venere for an executive suite for 220 Euros for one night! The room had great views across the rooftops of Florence including the Duomo. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our short stay at the Brunelleschi was excellent.

This hotel, located at two steps from the central place of Firenze, the Duomo, is very charming, service is good. BUT, the major negative point of this hotel is the bad quietness of the room : very noisy adjacent street, very thin windows and ... very noisy restrooms !!!

I highly recommend the Brunelleschi Hotel when visiting Florence. The reception desk and concierge provided directions, maps, tour information and restaurant recommendations in a professional and helpful way. The accomodations were immaculate and spacious. I look forward to my next stay.

The location was wonderful. A short walk to all the major attractions and yet very isolated because of access from a small seldon used street. The hotel was very quiet although there was some minor street noise from the back of the hotel. The hotal was clean and comfortable with good computer and phone facilities. The staff was efficient and courteous. I would stay there again on my next visit. Breakfasts were furnished but not complimentary.

The hotel is in an excellent location, very convenient for many of the attractions. The hotel facilities (bar, lounge, etc) were beautifully furnished, however the hotel room was more basic than I was expecting for a 4* especially the bathroom which was very dissappointing, having said that, the room did have a wonderful view of the Cathedral. The breakfast was poor with a very limited selection and some items ran out very early. Also our room was very noisy with the sounds of service lifts, church bells and street noise but these were all bearable in comparison with the sound of the renovation works that were going on (which we had not been warned about). Our room was on the top floor and the works were on the first floor but the sounds of power tools at 7.00 in the morning were still awful, only the complaints and threats of leaving by the guests changed the start time of the renovation works. I have been to Florence on many occasions and I had heard much of this hotel so I was keen to stay there, but after this experience, in future I will stay elsewhere.

We enjoyed the hotel very much. The quality was far superior to the hotel in Siena which was also rated 4 star. There really is no comparision. We will stay here again in the future. It is a little expensive though.

The hotel has a somewhat non-standard layout in that there are different levels on each floor and different elevators go to different floors. This might not be suitable for everyone, but was fine for us. Overall the hotel is quite nice and the location is certainly very convenient.

Perfect location makes this an ideal citybreak choice, though some aspects need investment of time and money to warrant a true 4 star rating.Particularly, the reception area looks dated, desk staff look "fed up", the breakfast area is overcrowded with some shared tables, and breakfast was so-so. The position is so great, one hopes the owners have the will and resources to make the hotel worthy of its reputation.

We were very pleased with the Hotel on the whole and would definately recommend it. We requested non smoking quiet rooms and they were very accomodating. The only niggle was that the Bar was poorly manned and the staff were not in any hurry to send someone to serve (only an issue, if like us you would have liked a final nightcap on the way to bed)

The Brunelleschi is the hotel to choose for its excellent location. It is just in the centre between Piazza della Signoria and the Cathedral. Rooms are very spacious and elegantly decorated. A good choice of food is offered for breakfast. On the other hand one has to pay that something extra for the hotel's location. Overall I would rather rate this hotel as a Superior 3 star rather than a 4 star hotel.

A really lovely hotel in a very central location, just don't try to drive there! The directions on the web site are good but Florence has a lot of one way streets! Also parking is very expensive. We would definitely use the hotel again. Nice buffet breakfast with good choice.

This is a wonderful hotel based in a historical building with a fantastic central location ideal for all the delights of Florence. We stayed in the Duomo Suite with a stunning out look over the famous cathedral from two (Small) windows. The room's cleanliness was exceptional, and this was maintained exquisitely throughout the stay. The suite was a little rambling with a number of small rooms but this only adds to the charm. The only disappointment was the standard of breakfast which was more 1 star than 4 star. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

A very welcoming and prestigeous hotel in what must be one of the best locations in Florence. Ideally suited for visiting the centre, a mixture of old and somewhat newer buildings in beautiful surroundings, with fabulous views of the city from the rooftop. Only word of caution is if intending to arrive by hire car, ensure you obtain accurate guidance beforehand on how to get to the Hotel, as the one-way systems make this extremely difficult without that information. Overall, no hesitation in recommending a stay at the Hotel.

While the hotel is clean and spacious, I found the 70's decor badly in need of an update, and there were mosquitoes in the room from someone having left the windows wide open all day. Although the staff was generally pleasant, the atmosphere was a bit creepy and isolated for such a lively city.

The level of noise in the room was such that we had to purchase ear plugs at the pharmacy in order to try and get some sleep. A member of the reception staff by the name of Paulo checked us in and sent us to a room that had not been cleaned up. We had to wait for the cleaners (the most professional staff in the hotel) to prepare it. Furthermore, Paulo tried to sell us tickets to all the attractions available in Florence without warning us that the hotel levied a surcharge for this service. This was regretful since we may have very well booked with them nevetheless had they advised us of this fact. However, the sheer way in which this was done was sufficient to make us feel uncomfortable. He was rude to us from then on and for the rest of our stay. Having been to Paradores in Spain, we expected a similar type of building AND SERVICE from the hotel description. Instead we found rude staff used to having a full hotel due to their location and therefore complaicent about their services and customers. The quality of buffet breakfast was poor. We would not return to this hotel.

Enjoyed the hotel and the room. Thought it was particularly well set-up for a family traveling with a child. The only negative was the high price charged for parking. Staff was most helpful in providing restaurant recommendations, but some of the staff members were not particularly friendly in other respects. Overall enjoyed the stay and would recommend this hotel to others.
