Hotel owner did not allow me to use the remote control device of the air cinditioner. I have never experienced such a thing.

Had a horrible stay there. The staff was not welcoming at all, but rather rude. They won't let you keep the aircon remote in your room and won't allow you to even touch it. They switched on the aircon and throughout the day we kept on saying it doesn't work but they woulnd't do anything. We finally asked the person at night to help out as it was 37 degrees and the room was boiling, and he was extremely rude and wouldn't let us help adjust the settings. And the next day we find out that they had set it on fan and 28 degrees. And this was only one of the couple of other incidents that made the 1-day stay horrible for us. Definitely not going back there again.

The room was not bad, either price wise or service- it is Florence in tourist season. The people that work there are very nice, but our whole trip to Florence was frustrating in general, so it is hard to get excited about anything about the city at this point. It's a shame, because up until this trip, we loved Florence. After this trip, we will never go back.

Good situation, 2 mins from train station which is a nice hub for the surroundings. Staff could be nicer as they question us about using the A/C. Serious mosquito problems. Noisy, the wall are too thin. We book there for the low price, but should have pay more.

My friends and I stayed for 6 nights. 4 night as a double, then the 5th as a triple, and the 6th as a quad. Initially the staff was not very welcoming. This may have been more evident because we had stayed in 2 B&Bs in Rome prior to Florence. The hotel was in a good location, around the corner from the train station, which meant we did not have to roll our suitcases too far. Everything in Florence is walking distance. The rooms were clean, but bare bones. Small basic beds. There was a sink in the room and mirror. We had clean towels daily. My biggest complaint is 3 our of the 6 nights someone was smoking in the hotel. We believe it was an employee because it occurred only when he was there at night. You could smell the smoke from your room. It irritated my eyes. My eyes were so irritated by the last 2 nights I had to go to sleep early. We were able to store our luggage on the last day. You cant beat the affordability.

I spent a very good stay at Hotel Bijou: it's quiet and clean, my room was very tidy. There's also a cheap and tasteful Chinese Restaurant on the corner (next to the hotel).

IT'S VERY NEAR TO THE STATION AND BUS STOP AND WALKING TO THE PLACES OF INTEREST IS OK. WE'VE BOOKED A TRIPLE ROOM FOR 4 NIGHTS AND FELT VERY CONVENIENT.I THINK IT'S GOOD FOR FRIENDS WHO TRAVELLING TO FLORENCE AND JUST WANT TO FIND A PLACE TO LIVE. BUT THE WATER IN THE BATHROOM CANNOT GET DOWN QUICKLY, WHICH IS THE ONLY ONE WE AREN'T SATISFIED.

This was our first stay at Hotel Bijou and we would go back for sure. It was a little hard to find because it wasn't labeled well on the outside but it was at the listed address so it wasn't a big deal. The staff was friendly and helpful, though perhaps a bit on the creepy side. We were a little bit nervous about the quality of the hotel when we arrived, went up the old-style elevator, and had to walk across the hall to another hotel in order to check in...and then the stairway to the room was quite narrow and dark - but we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and cleanliness of the 3-person room and the shared bathroom next door. They were also really helpful with storing our bags before we could check in and also the day we left.

Location was great, safe neighbourhood and very close to train station. Easy walking distance to markets and Duomo and other areas of interest. We were offered and took an ensuite for an additonal charge and were pleased we did but at that price there may be better value for money around I am not sure. Staff were ok and efficient. Internet wifi is not free charged at 5 euros for 4 hours Hotel is a bit tired but overall ok

The staff at this hotel were really rude and unhelpful. But that being said, it was a PERFECT location in Florence. It's a 3 minute walk from the train station and a 10 minute walk to everything in the city centre. The rooms were not the cleanest in terms of air circulation and just a general "mouldy" feel to the room. The bathrooms were clean though. So if you're just looking for a hotel to sleep in for a few hours, this will do. But do your best not to interact with any of the staff at any time...they were all really rude.

Decent place to stay, the main selling point is it's distance from the train station...very close. Also very close to the major sights in Florence (Duomo, Mercado, Palazzo Vecchio, Uffici). The rooms were just ok, nothing to get excited about, but for the price we couldn't find anything better for the location. We stayed there twice at two different times of our trip, simply because it was relatively clean, relatively cheap, and so easy to get to. Breakfast is extra though, and expensive (7 euro), so be aware! Any of the Cafe's down the street will provide better breakfast for less.

As advertised, the hotel is a short walk from the train station, which was a major consideration for us. It is also around the corner from clothing and shoe shops, and within walking distance of the sites. It has a neat, old European feel to it, and is charming if you're into sort of funky places. You find the lobby by riding up an ancient gated elevator. Our room had a little balcony overlooking a beautiful big-blossomed tree (but also some fairly loud construction). It was basic but clean and big enough for the four of us.

Despite of staffs' lousy english, they provide really bad service due to the price we paid. the night-shift staff even didnt allow us to watch the world cup in the public area only because he wanted to watch it alone!(our tv doesnt have channel which telebroadcast the world cup). In general the staffs are very indifferent and inefficient! i wont choose this hotel again absolutely!

The hotel is located close to the central train station and shopping areas. The room was however not clean. The common toilets / showers were also not clean (more frequent cleaning needed) and need maintenance.

The Hotel Bijou is wonderful! I booked it for the location (it's very close to the train station, only few steps), but it was a good surprise for me because the price was very low but my room was very nice! I recommend it to everybody.

The hotel was close to the train station, which was convenient, and also within walking distance of all the major sites (Galleria dell'Academia, Uffizi, Duomo). The rooms were okay, nothing special, but fine if you are on a budget and only want somewhere clean and convenient to sleep. The rooms are right on the stairwell, so there is some minor noise when people are coming and going. Overall, good value for money.

I booked Hotel Bijou because they offered a very cheap price, but I didn't imagine such a nice hotel! I liked my room because it was very clean, quiet and equipped with air conditioning, but I appreciated the roof terrace above all: there's a fantastic view from there. Another important merit of Hotel Bijou is NO CURFEW! This fact is of fundamental importance for a young girl like me...!

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Bijou: the relationship between price/quality is very good. My room was very clean, spacious and full of light because the window is large. There is also a marvellous terrace on the roof.

Close to station: walkable distance to town centre. Attractive stylish comfortable hotel. Breakfast price not included so that it appears early in the list under a "price" search. Breakfast room not big enough to accommodate all in one sitting but a common disadvantage when everyone a keen early riser.

The hotel had no news about our reservation in Venere. However they solved the inconvenient without problem and maintained the price of our reservation. So, to avoid problems print and carry with you a copy of the Venere reservation

We stayed at Hotel Bijou for 4 nights and the hotel met all our expectations with the exception that internet service was down during our stay. Friendly and very helpful staff, clean rooms with clean towels and made beds everyday, great space in the triple private bathroom room and within a short walking distance from all important sites of the city. Also, a very short walk to the train station. All in all a very pleasant experience.

Good clean hotel only problem was the old lifts and Air Conditioning in the room was poor did not work very well for a large room. Close to the train station but instructions little unclear its cross the road and turn right towards Mcdonalds and turn left into side street and its 200yds on left just a small plack on the wall.

Great place to stay if you are looking to be nearby the train station. In ANY city, staying near the train station means the area is gritty and odd characters lurk about. However, I did not feel unsafe and from this hotel, it is easy to navigate around the city on foot. This hotel is ok for one or two nites max. Air conditioning works very well so for the low price and good AC, it's a decent value. Reception is at Hotel Annabella but then you stay across the hall at Hotel Bijou. Front desk man was not very friendly but he may have been tired. Signora Vittoria was nice though. Always try to speak some Italian so people are nicer and more willing to help you. I would also recommend paying more for private bathroom as I did not and had to walk down the corridor, through reception area to get to the facilities. The best thing about this hotel was my bed was extremely comfortable; a comfy non saggy or lumpy bed in Italy...amazing! Have a nice gelato at Bar Ponte Vecchio!

Excellent location, 2 minutes from the railway station and 5-10 from city center. As usually, near the station there are some albanians or other obscure persons, but also enough policemen and lightly, and we didn't feel inconvenient, despite we came back at late midnight. The room and bathroom were not very clean and comfortable - we didn't found any shoulders for clothes in the wardrobe, and the only one in bathroom was broken. One unpleasant incident was when smbd took our toothpaste, which we left in the common bathroom (but there were nobody except service personal on the floor). But after a few days of negotiations they bring us a new one :)
