We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Albergotto! And would love to come back.

Albergotto is an excellent place to stay. We got a room upgrade free of charge just because there was availability. Location is excellent. Service is above and beyond anybody's expectations.

Hotel Albergotto was located in the middle of all the sightseeing spots of interest. Staff was very helpful and informed. The street noise was a bit loud at night and early morning.

We had a double room and it was very large. The temperature was difficult to regulate, but it was November. We would stay there again. Hotel is very well located to sites and shopping.

The Albergotto was excellent. The pictures on Venere don't do the hotel justice. The front desk was more than helpful with directions and suggestions for any request. The location is central to any major attraction. Street noise is a problem for open windows.

It's very important to know that there are two long flights of stairs to climb before arriving at the elevator which takes you to the reception. This hotel would not work for someone who is especially elderly or disabled. However, the room we had looked out onto Palazzo Strozzi and had a good bit of light and a very large bathroom, so was most pleasant. There is a charming sitting room with a very English feel. Our room had a tea kettle and tea bags, which would have been nice, had we wanted a cup of tea before breakfast (in the English fashion) or before bed. The linens were excellent and Monica at the desk helped with dinner reservations and good advice on dining. The location is, of course, excellent, within easy walking distance of all major sights. If I could afford it, I'd stay for several months!

Very nice, good service, good price. The air conditioning could be only ON or OFF. If you have a luggage remember that the elevator is after some stairs.

Very disapointing hotel. Couldn't understand why it is rated as a four star hotel. The furniture was old and not very clean, the room was small and had the smallest TV i ever seen in my life. Cleaners shouted in the corridors in the morning. This hotel is a correct 2 star , very bad relionship price/quality.

It is a wonderful cute hotel in a great location. Very central to everything including the best shopping in the area. The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. It was our favorite place to stay and i would recommend it to everyone. We went for our 10th anniversary and put that in our comments when booking. The staff had a beautiful bottle of wine and a note waiting for us in the room. They gave us a wonderful room with an incredible view. It was so quiet with the windows closed and so very loud with them open. I would caution older people that there is a flight of stairs to enter the hotel. The porter handled the bags up it, but their is no elevator access to the ground floor. The breakfast in the mornings were very nice. Really I have nothing but compliments for this hotel.

This was my second time to Firenze and I will be visiting again and again. There is more to see in Firenze than can be accomplished in only a few visits. The Albergotto Hotel was very nice. The front desk personnel are well versed in English and other languages. They are very helpful and will go the extra mile to find out times and places of events. Make sure to specify that you would like a view of the street if you book online as we checked in for a 5-day stay and were put in a dark room with only a small high corner window and an alley view. I became clostrophobic immediately. In order to change rooms, it cost us an extra 200 Euros for the stay. We were offered to change rooms the next day for the same rate, however, chose to upgrade so that we could settle in and begin our visit. The breakfast is lovely, moderate, but if you have to have a protein based breakfast, you can find it here. We felt that although the room was large and clean, the cost was double the price of our fantastic hotel in Sorrento, and will possibly shop around the next time for a better value. The people and service were great and other than the inflated price, I would recommend staying here. The location is closer to the termini than the map suggests. Just go straight down past the Santa Maria Novella piazza and take a left on a side road to Tournabuone. Use google maps for walking directions.

I personally like this hotel because it was very clean, organized, elegant and close to everything including designer shops, toursit attractions, S.M.N. station, etc... Internet reception wasn't very good and breakfast could have more variety other than that all was great.

Only drawback is the flight of stairs up to the lift, need to be quite fit. Otherwise excellent value and location for this time of year. Might be a bit busy and noisy in the summer. This was our 2nd stay and would stay here again in winter.

The hotel was perfectly located. The staff -especially Valentina, was attentive and efficient. Restaurant recommendations were alsp good. The room was attractive and comfortable and the bathroom was nicely tiled and immaculate. I would certainly recommend this fine hotel to anyone visiting my favorite city.

A pleasant hotel in a convenient neighbourhood. We were upgraded to a lovely spacious room with large bathroom, both spotlessly clean. The only downside was the night-time noise from the street below even though we were on the third floor. This seems to be a common problem in Florence. The staff were all friendly and helpful.
Young couple
USA, Oct 2007
Our Albergotto experience was wounderful. The staff could not have been more helpful, efficient and organized. The room (and bathroom) were roomy, clean and well equiped. Only minor complaint was that if you need the windows open (for ventilation or temperature adjustments) the noise can be bothersome. Also the stairs to the first level are mildly annoying after a long day of sight seeing, (we saw this at other hotels aroud town). Lugging luggage is not a problem as the bell staff is always there to help. Overall a great, friendly place in a great area of town that delivers what it advertises and we would not hesitate to stay there again.

We loved the location of this hotel which was smack in the middle of what we wanted out of a holiday which was shopping and sightseeing. This is the place to stay if you love shopping for designer goods. This hotel is really lovely but be prepared to walk up the flight of steps before reaching the reception area. People with bad knees and walking problems, this hotel is not for you!! Can you imagine lugging your baggage up all these steps? Apart from this, this is a lovely hotel and a plus point is wifi internet is FREE!!!!! Our room which overlooks Via Tournobuoni can be quite noisy especially early morning when you want to sleep late and get woken up by noisy traffic passing the street below. The hotel can do with sound proof windows. The hotel rooms are quite pricey but worth it.

We only stayed at the Albergotto for one night, however the staff was so friendly and helpful and they even gave us a free upgrade to our room. I highly recommend this hotel. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the location is convenient to many tourist sites. The breakfast was also very good. The only strange thing was the walk upstairs to get to the elevator (lift), but a bellboy (or whatever the politically-correct term is) met me and helped with the luggage.

Although unassuming at first glance, Hotel Albergotto turned out to be an excellent choice for a quick stay in Florence. It seems to have been recently renovated, the rooms and public areas are pristine and decorated with quiet good taste. The location is excellent, short walk from train station, close to Duomo area. The rooms were a little small but provided all necessities. It would seem to appeal to business travelers as well as tourists.

We were very happy with our stay at the Albergotto. It is in the perfect location to all the main attractions. It is also just a five minute walk to the main car rental offices and train station. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We had a very large room. There are also many great restaurants in the area. The hotel is on a busy street, but I was suprised at the quietness of our room.

The room we stayed was very dark and bad view. We saw the dirty rags at other windows accross our window. I think it was staff room??? They had a nice fruit, prosciutto for breakfast. The location was great to go out everywhere for shopping and/or sightseeing.

The Albergotto is a jewel. Convenient to everything Florence has to offer. While the steps to the hotel itself were no problem for us, it would be wise to let people know they need the ability to climb 30 or so stairs to reach the elevator. No question that we will make the Albergotto our address in Florence on any future trips.

Great location, comfortable beds, nice breakfast. Stairs a bother, but porter available to help with bags and elevator from 1st floor up. Location next door to all the designer shops was worth it. We loved this hotel! The only drawback I can see is that there are about 28 steps up to the elevator. Anyone thinking they won't have to climb stairs will be surprised. Wonderful breakfasts in the breakfast room. Very friendly staff. Fantastic location for shopping, museums, Ponte Vecchio and Duomo.

First of all I would like to thank the hotel staff who were top grade. The rooms were clean and well kept. My only complaint was the shower head in our room, it was noisy. The other two couples that went with us also enjoyed the hotel. The hotel is centrally located. I will be staying at the Albergotto when I return to Florence.

This was a great hotel - an easy walk and just minutes from the train station in Florence, even with rolling bags. Hotel staff was very helpful in recommending things to see, restaurants, making reservations and helping us as "travel agents" in our next foray down the road in Italy. I would easily stay again at this hotel and have recommended it to a friend already.

Very centrally located Hotel, you can walk to all major atractions and points of interest. Staff made every effort to make us feel welcomed and provided very useful advise. I Latini a close by restaurant recommended by the staff was excellent and fun. They also recommended a hairstyling salon for my wife which was very good and reasonably priced. Carolina at the fron desk took good care of us. I would stay there agin when returning to Florence

QUITE THE WALK UP THE STAIRS TO GET TO THE MAIN LOBBY. I FELT YOU WERE ALWAYS BEING WATCHED VIA VIDEO CAMERAS. ONE OF OUR DAUGHTERS GOT SICK AND HAD TO STAY WITH US. Location and accessibility to tourist area is excellent, the staff were very freindly and helpfull and the hotel in general was quite pleasant. Our dissapointment was with the overall quality of the room compared to the price, star rating and expectations based on our travel experience throughout europe. The room was clean and tidy but lacked the quality we expected from a 4 stal hotel in this price bracket.

The hotel was perfect for our short stay in Florence. It is so well located and in a very nice area of the city, only a short walk to all the sites and the River. Each room had its own air conditioning, which was much needed at the heat of the summer, and in turn, allowed us to close the large windows/doors at night for a quiet night's sleep. Beds were very comfortable, bathroom was newly renovated, view was good from room, breakfast was delicious, and the multilingual staff were more than helpful on guiding us on where to go as well as making all reservations for restaurants and museums. We will definitely stay here on any future returns to the city and HIGHLY recommend it to others.

Our experience with the Albergotto was absolutely magnificient! The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, competent and always willing to assist with restaurant and sightseeing recommendations, as well as, travel arrangements. Both of our rooms (Superior Double accomodations) were spacious by European standards and contained all of the necessary amenities. The location was perfect. It's central to all of Florence, 15 minutes to the train station, 10 minutes to the Doumo, Republic square and del Vechio (sp?). Without a doubt it is our first choice for future accomodations in Florence!
