Duran Hotel & Restaurant - Figueres

I wish I encountered more of these hotels that manage to mix so perfectly tradition, comfort and modernism. Even if the room I was in was a litte small (but the bathroom was spacious), it was clean, well decorated, perfect with most recent amenities (LCD TV, internet wifi/cable, great shower with high pressure water :) ). While I didn't experience its kitchen nor the wine card, the restaurant on the hotel's ground floor is worth the stay alone, conveying different atmospheres of ancient times. And it's cellar is certainly not the least piece of interest.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 days to visit the Dali Museum. The hotel was extremely comfortable, and excellent value. For less than 100 Euro per night we had a King size bed, beautiful bathroom including bath, and buffet breakfast (fruit, toast, cereal, pastries, yoghurt, coffee, tea etc. GREAT!). Free internet was also included. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly, even though we couldn't speak more than a few words in Spanish. We treated ourselves to dinner in the Hotel restaurant and while a bit more expensive than we were used to (15-20 euro for entree, 20-30 euro for main, 15-20 euro for desser), the food was absolutely spectacular and the waiters courteous and attentive. Overall, a fantastic stay! We would recommend without a second thought!

The Duran is a charming hotel in a delightful village. Only a short walk from the Dali museum, it was also close to a lovely green area with cafes along the sidewalk. A great place to chill out and relax, much underrated at three stars! It was as nice the 4-star hotel in which we stayed in Barcelona and was only half the price!

Garage Parking Rate was €15,00 per night and garage was in a very tight steep ramped cellar. Other parking limited and expensive. I had to wait for clerk for early departure. Breakfast was €11,00 and I did not eat there at that price. Close to Salvador Dali Musuem and Theater. A good location to drive to Dali´s home at Cadaques/Port Lligat and to Gala´s Castle. Other food cheaper and better nearby. Desk clerks were not very efficient. It took about 20 minutes for clerk to figure out parking fees. Local Tourism Office not open at hours posted on door. Within reasonable walking distance to Railroad Station.

This hotel operates a very fine restaurant, which we highly recommend.

I loved this hotel. Only problem I had was that I had parked my car on the street in the ONE designated parking spot, and was in a small accident when I pulled out of the spot. It was not my fault, as another car merged into that lane. But it was not a very pleasant experience. Hotel was really helpful.

Highly recommended! Really nice and comfortable hotel at a great location. Rooms were comfortable and immaculately clean. Staff was professional and courteous. The breakfast was very good.

I really enjoy the stay in the Hotel Durán. The room was very clean, modern and rather new furnished. The location is also nice, in the downtown and just five minutes walking distance from Dali's museum. The service was excellent and very friendly. Finally the relation quality/price is very good. I strongly recommend this hotel and most probably I would choose it again if I would have to stay in Figueres again

The hotel staff does not know anything about public transportation options. I hope they read this and decide to learn! Otherwise, the hotel is very nice, the staff is friendly. Unfortunately, there is not much in Figueres except for Dali...

Chambre sympa, bonne couette, personnel sympa, bon emplacement.En défauts il y aurait peut être la taille de la télé et pas de mini bar.

It was really a surprise to discover that Salvador Dalì, the famous painter, has been to Hotel Duran several times. The staff os very kind and I advise this hotel to everyone.

Séjour de 2 nuits avec mes deux enfants. Demandé et pas obtenu un lit supplémentaire pour mon fils de 5 ans. Avons dormi à 3 dans 2 lits rapprochés. Heureusement, la literie était de qualité et les lits larges.

El Hotel Durán es sencillamente magnífico. Las 3 estrellas no le hacen justicia en absoluto. Las habitaciones son muy amplias,modernas y nuevecitas, al igual que el baño. Las almohadas comodísimas. El aire acondicionado funcionaba perfectamente.No puedo ponerle ninguna pega. El restaurante del hotel es en el que el propio Dalí comía mientras se construía su museo, incluso tienen fotos. EL aspecto es muy agradable, decorado un poco tipo modernista. El trato en el comedor impecable. La comida excelente. El hotel no dispone de zonas comunes salvo unos sofás junto a la recepción, que es bastante pequeña. Está muy bien situado, justo en el centro de Figueres a dos minutos andando del Museo Dalí y pegando a la plaza principal donde hay agradables terrazas. Aunque dispone de parking no hay problema en encontrar sitio para aparcar un poco más arriba de la calle del hotel. Sin duda una elección más que acertada.

Excellent hotel. Rooms very clean and modern. Shower was amazing. Probably the best value room i have stayed in for a long time.

We had some language problems due to the fact that english was not spoken at the hotel. but we managed and remembered some french...

We really enjoyed our stay at the Duran. It was really central, just 30 seconds from the Rambla and a few minutes from the Dali Museum. Staff were very friendly and the room was great, the only complaint I had was the car parking which the website made out to be free but which cost 9 euro a night.
