Hotel Villa Regina - Cocomaro di Cona, Ferrara

The hotel should pay more attention to details (flowers in the garden for example) ; nice place 4 km from Ferrara

Nice stay with our dog in a large double room. Breakafast not so good.

Ottimo Hotel comodo e con buon ristorante.

Avevamo la camera sopra la cucina del ristorante, la prima notte c'è stato un rumore assordante di pentole fino a che non son sceso a lamentarmi. Le altre sere ci han pensato i nostri vicini di camera a tenerci svegli, una coppia matura con lei che camminava con tacchi rumorosi e parlava a voce alta alle 3 di notte, poi parlano della maleducazione dei giovani... ma questo non è ovviamente imputabile all'hotel. Una sera che abbiamo deciso di cenare nel ristorante dell'hotel c'era una ritrovo del Rotary e ci hanno confinato nella sala colazione, buia e spoglia. In più hanno fatto confusione e hanno segnato sul nostro conto i caffè e gli amari del tavolo accanto tentando di farceli pagare al checkout se non fossimo stati abbastanza accorti da controllare.

We went here in Nov 2007, so nothing in Italy was crowed including this hotel. We were the only ones in dining room for dinner. The dinner was just fair. But the morning breakfast was wonderful. I lovely buffet and then I asked if they were serving eggs and the server came back to ask how we wanted our eggs and the chef made them for us. Important note: We had a GPS in our car. Not sure we would have found this lovely hotel otherwise. It is off the "beaten track" which is what we like. You will not be sorry if you go here. Of course we could visualise this hotel in warmer weather, lovely! Also they have wireless though out the hotel, except we did not bring our laptop. At some times language was a problem, but they did their best, which was fine!!

Marked as 4 stars, it seems more a 3 stars hotel. The room was wide but the furnishing was a little poor and old fashioned. Overall it's a fine hotel for a quick tour in Ferarra. The price was excellent.

Breakfast was poor, the entrance in the rooms section of the hotel was above the kitchens, the room was very 80's, definetly not a 4 star hotel. Absolutely not worth 110€ per night outside Ferrara. There are many B&B cheaper in the very center of the city.

If you have a car and want to stay near Ferrara, this is a great place to stay. However, it is in the middle of nowhere, which means you need to drive everywhere. However, it is extremely quiet, and the countryside the quite pretty. Breakfast was okay, nothing spectacular. At what I paid, this was a fantastic value. And parking is free. There is a cute little pub close by called hte Lady Hawke which is quite nice also.

We loved our stay at Villa Regina and appreciated finding signage that greatly helped us find our way to the hotel. We enjoyed its convenient location for exploring the region. Not speaking Italian, we were challenged but felt that we had a "real" Italy experience.

It's all ok but i think that "Villa Regina" is three stars hotel and not a four stars hotel. Service at tables is not too good, and rooms are hot. All the other is OK: Villa Regina is located in a very relaxing place and the food is good.

It is a quite hotel, in a beautiful garden, located outside Ferrara, with spaciousness rooms, but the decoration of rooms and common areas is a little bit old fashion, or with no style if you wish, for a 4 star hotel.

This place is a great lover's hideout. It's charming and romantic environment is unsurpassed. It is only a 10 minute ride from the centre of the city.

Unico appunto la poca funzionalità dela rubinetteria degli apparecchi sanitari, che sono nuovi, ma si trata di un modello poco intelligente.

The hotel was a little further from Ferrara than I realized, but the staff was very helpful in giving us a map of the city and directions. Our room was spacious, quiet and comfortable. The setting and grounds were lovely and there was plenty of parking on site.

My only criticism is of the restaurant. the hotel was hosting a private party/function towards which the kitchen was clearly giving priority - the residents and others using the restaurant duly suffered.

Villa Regina is an excellent value. The hotel is easily a 3-star facility, and is in a nice location, with beautiful grounds. Our only disappointments were (1) the resturant, which we felt served mediocre food and was quite expensive, and (2) noise level in the room. On our first night, there had been a meeting held at the hotel (Lions Club or similar) and the clanking of dishes from the kitchen below our room extended past 11 PM. On the second night, the other two members of our party were "entertained" by a noisy party taking place in the courtyard below their window on the other side of the hotel. Both situations are probably abnormal, so I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel, but would hasten to add that you need to have a car available (or taxi) to drive to another resturant for dinner.
