Excellent, it is a pity just that the Jacuzzi has not the shower box. Excellent the restaurant too.

On the web the hotel interiors look first rate. Instead, the hotel lobby and rooms are small and awkward spaces. The hotel is rated as a four star yet the bathrooms are definitely not four star- we had a small bathroom with a shower from the 80's, no place to put toiletries, and no bath robes just towels. In the room the television was really a computer on the desk to the far right of the room so you couldn't really watch tv in bed. The only thing that was four star was the view of the Castello from the hotel.

Lovely small attractive city set right beside a large Medieval castle and in the city centre. Everyone semed to cycle around the city and the hotel provided FOC bicycles which were great to explore the many cobbled streets.

Very nice hotel in a great setting. The hotel offers free bicycles and it was a fantastic way to gently roam around this pretty city. Breakfast was also great!! We will be back at again.

Exellent hotel especially quality/price for sstandard Italian prices. All perfect...maybe the photo with the balcony in front of the castle you see in the website is a bit "too much"...it's defenetely the best room. Regular rooms though are goon and nice (they are on the side of the hotel so no Castle view but the Castle is 30 metres away. I would go back 100%. If you need to go to Ferrara this is as central and as beautiful as you can get without spending a fortune.

This was an awesome experience. We could see the castle from our room. The breakfast was the best we had on our trip, the hostess was incredible. The guys at the desk recommended several great restaurants and answered a multitude of questions. They made our trip go so much smoother. When we wanted a wine bar, they knew of one, when we wanted a market, they directed us. When we needed train schedules, they printed them out. We recommend two restaurants in the area: Osteria della Campana on via Borgo dei Leoni 26 which is a short walk from the hotel. Make sure you tell them you are staying at Hotel Ferrara. Antica Trattoria Volano is also excellent at Viale Volano 20, 0532 761421. It is a 20 minute walk from the hotel but well worth it.

Average sized hotel room. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Air conditioning had been switched off during October while the heating system was turned on. One had to open the windows to keep cool at night. Excellent location, within walking distance of main tourist attractions. Overall a very enjoyable holiday break in and around Ferrara.

Veramente ottimo. Unici lati negativi : 1) Il parcheggio costa un prezzo doppio e non è nei pressi dell'hotel. 2) la suite è su un blocco separato da quello principale. 3) La colazione compresa è solo quella minima. Buona parte dell'ottimo Buffet è a pagamento.

We loved our stay at Hotel Ferrara. It was a little tricky finding it (that was true of all our hotels during this third road trip in Italy)but once there we couldn't be more pleased. The setting is quite old, right next to the Castello Estense, but the interior is fresh and contemporary - an interesting juxtaposition. Our double room was large and clean with a view of the Castello. Davide was the front desk man who went above and beyond, always with a smile and excellent English. The breakfast was terrific, and the location for exploring Ferrara couldn't have been better. After dropping off our suitcases at the hotel, parking was just a couple of blocks away. We would happily return for another stay.

The location is terrific, within walkingdistance to everything. Ferrara is a small city so maybe every hotel is in convenient... Only stayed one night but the room is very clean and breakfast good with nice cappuccino.

The Hotel Du Lac was charming in a great location. Varenna has a number of very good restaurants so we never felt we had to have dinner in Bellagio and worry about catching the ferry back. We were travelling with another couple who also like the accomodations. The room (Azalea) was large and clean with plenty of hot water in the shower. Our veranda overlooked Lake Como and was the most beautiful part of the room. We had cocktails on the veranda or threw cracker crumbs to the ducklings in the lake (July) if it wasn't raining.

I cannot rate this hotel highly enough. The hotel is superb and located right in the center of Ferrara. We were there for 2 days and found breakfast on the terrace looking out over their private courtyard to the moated castle in the centre truly peaceful and beautiful. If you are going to stay in Florence, stay here.

Beautiful Property in a very nice location. Service very cood in certain areas, and is highly recommendable. Price for the room supplied could be somewhat cheaper as it was not really a Junior suite! But otherwise enjoyed our stay. Should also point out that they donot accept the debit card MAESTRO. Use of INTERNET should be made completely free of all charges.

Arriving at 9 pm we did not wish to look around for a restaurant so used the one attaching to the Hotel - excellent in both quality and service. As a restaurateur myself, I rate this highly. The location of the Hotel cannot be beaten, on a pedestrian precinct, so no noisy traffic through the night. We will recommend the hotel and Ferarra to our friends.
