The hotel is located in the centre of Ferrara right next to the castle. We found it OK despite it being in a pedestrian zone. It has private parking for 20 Euro in garage 200 metres away or you can pay 3 Euro to park on the street nearby. The hotel is housed in an old building but provides modern comfort with free wifi and flat screen TV with English channels. Our room was at the back of the building and was very quiet but had a view of a dilapidated building. The shower only bathroom was roomy . The bed was too hard for me. Good breakfast with fantastic cheese selection. Friendly helpful staff. My partner was disappointed that the treadmill was in another building and did not use it. Like the table football game in the public area. Also, there was use of an Apple computer for guests.

My wife and I really loved this hotel which is located very close to the castle and at the heart of this lovely Italian city. We stayed in a room in the annexe to the hotel that had recently been restored to a very high standard and it was very comfortable indeed. There was a wonderful breakfast and the hotel staff were delightful and extremely helpful. We thought it was a fabulous hotel!

After a 2 week cruise in the Mediteranean, we spent a week exploring the north of Italy and found this delightful hotel. The Breakfast alone made food on the cruise ship seem pitiful. We have never had such a fabulous breakfast. The hotel location was central to everything in Ferrara. This lovely town still has its old walls - the hotel provided wonderful bicycles with which we explored. I only wished we had booked a few extra days here as we could have taken trains to other towns like Padua, Ravenna, Bologna etc. and enjoyed the town longer. Best hotel of the 3week trip.

This gets a wow! it's a fab location. We were lucky as we had the balcony overlooking the castle..but it is wonderful!. The breakfast was the best of any breakfast I have ever had! caviar was even offered! all natural, wholesome food. I didn't like the coffee though! The hair dyer kept cutting out but just sit on the balcony and let your hair down!

We stayed at the hotel due to force major reasons - public strike in Italy, but although the occasion was not really good, tha accomodation was perfect - view from the room, cleanliness, quiteness, Ferrara as city and also the breakfast was very rich. The staff was helpful during our stay. This hotel is quite recomendable.

I can warmly recommend this hotel, ideally situated in the historic center of Ferrara, just in front of the castle. Bikes are available for free use to visite Ferrara. All rooms will be redone at the beginning of next year and small single rooms like the one I occupied will be merged to bigger double rooms which can be reserved for single use. A very conclusive first stay in Ferrara.

Our room was probably the least good, in a corner and a back view and broken blinds. (At reception, we had been offered an upgrade for 20 Euro: front view. We had declined). That was the first impression. From then, things only got better: excellent receptionist, best breakfast at an Italian hotel. We were told that the hotel will be closed in Jan/Feb for complete refurbishing, but that their suites (just beside the hotel) will remain open.

Clean and well appointed modern property in the old city proper. The rooms are compact and clean, but not high design or luxury. You can drive to the door to unload luggage, with street parking reasonably close for Euro 3/day. The breakfast is above average. The staff is very kind and helpful. The reason to pick this property is the location, the helpful staff and reasonable value for money. Other aspects are fine -- but not outstanding. There is a separate suite facility 150m away that sounded higher end, but did not visit.

This was a lovely hotel right in the middle of Ferrara. The hotel staff was exceptional - they went above and beyond anything we expected. The breakfast was also one of the best we had in Italy. Rooms were a bit dated, but clean and spacious. Free wi-fi, use of bikes and a location within walking distance of the train station were other pluses. Overall - we loved our time in Ferrara and wished we had just a bit more time to explore the town. Plenty of shops to explore and it seemed to be a bit off the beaten path of usual tourist stops.

Stayed here one night with family passing through to Venice. Excellent and friendly staff, spacious and very modern rooms with plenty of amenities. Excellent breakfast comparable to any luxury hotel. They even had scrambled eggs made of real egg (not the instant powder stuff offered elsewhere). Very good value for money. Will stay here again if passing through, and will surely add a night or two. The Annuziata is the type of hotel that I hope to find when I travel. It offers personal service, an excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, and all of the amenities that make for a comfortable stay. The hotel's location puts it within a three minute walk of Ferrara's major attractions, and a two minute walk to the bus stop for travel to/from the train and bus station. The area might be more crowded and noisy in the middle of summer, but that wasn't at all an issue in mid-November.

We loved this hotel. The location is incredible. You are just across the square from the castle in the center of the town -- at night it is right outside your window all lit up. The hotel was extremely well run and the staff was very pleasant, welcoming and helpful. You will never find a better hotel breakfast than you will get at this hotel (with the price of the room.) It was bountiful and the quality of everything on it was superior. The only thing 'bad' we can say about the hotel is that the bathroom we had was rather cramped and the rug needed to be changed in the room. Otherwise it is very clean and well maintained. My husband and I would recommend it highly.

This is one of the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was not huge, but perfectly large enough, with a good size bathroom. The room was filled with free goodies and gifts - book, pen, chocolate &c. I am used to single rooms being generally inferior and at the back, but this room was excellent. When I pulled back the curtains and opened the shutters I was stunned by the magnificent view of the Este Palace. It was superb. Also, the next morning, the breakfast buffet was easily the best I have ever encountered in Italy. It was a huge spread of the highest quality and it was difficult not to be greedy! I have no doubt at all that I shall use this hotel again when next I visit Ferrara.

There is a bakery next door so be careful not to leave the windows open otherwise you risk being woken up at 3am - although the smell is great!! Parking is a real hassle.

The Albergo Annunziata is a charming hotel with a very personal touch. It is located very centrally right near the famous Castello of Ferrara and in the vicinity of other landmark buildings as well. The employees were at all times very frienly and helpful and offered an extremely good service. Especially good is the very opulent breakfast buffet. The Quality Price ratio is very good. I can only recommend this hotel warmly.

Location is unparrelled. The hotel has free bikes which are a must in Ferrara, and free internet which other hotels didn't have. Take a bike around the city walls and through the streets and feel like a local. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast offered a great selection. If you are planning to stay during the buskers festival you have to weigh up sacrificing the magnificent view out to the Estense Castle with the quiet of a non-square facing room. We accepted the noise and loved the room.

Outstanding hotel with very helpful staff. Would have preferred suite to have sitting area (couch) rather than table and chairs but otherwise a great experience.
