Hotel Santa Maria - Faro

Good hotel right in the centre of Faro. Close to the pedestrian zone. The room was big.

Good clean place. Receptionist was not the most friendly in regard to accepting my credit card. Location was good, parking was easy on a Thursday in November. Short walk to Chapel of Bones. Wi-Fi was intermittent.

High quality for price range. Difficult with Broadband reception and staff proved to be very helpful.

Our second visit to Santa Maria and I'm pleased to say that the hotel is still as good as ever. Our only regret was that we could only stay for 2 nights and Faro really deserves a little longer. Not to worry, it gives us an excuse to go back again :-)

Very satisfied with the hotel! Service at the reception when arriving very quickly and friendly.Only minus, that the reception boy had something in his nose, it disturbed a little...Lobby cafe very comfortable and excellent service, good selection.Our room were first floor,little noisy, but not bad at all.Rooom and bathroom spacious enough for 2 persons, breakfast better than I expected. Price/quality 10+ Recommend to everyone, location 10+.

This is the third time I have stayed at the Hotel Santa Maria in Faro. I always choose to stay at this hotel as it offers affordable quality accommodation and the staff are always welcoming and friendly as well. The hotel also has a great patisserie which sells the best (and cheapest) coffee and cakes in town.

This hotel was central and just right for me. I was disappointed that I could not return for a second night at short-notice; the room tariff had doubled on account of a bikers convention!

The Santa Maria is a spacious and modern hotel with a very central location in Faro. It offers excellent value for money and I would certainly stay there again.

Excellent value at the discounted rate we paid (40E per night for a double room in early January). Pleasant atmosphere, helpful staff, good breakfast. Good location. The coffee shop in the hotel foyer seemed to offer the best value deal in town - two coffees and a (shared) pastry for 2E!

A lovely hotel with a rustic feel close to Praia Dona Ana and about 10 minutes walk from the town centre.

We had booked online and requested a double bedded room with smoking preferece although when we arrived to the hotel, we were allocated a smoking pref twin room. Ana at reception was very apologetic & accomodating and we moved to a double - she was very nice & helpful. Also, our shower leaked and we had to move to another room for our second night and no apology was offered. All in all, we were very happy with the location and facilities although room service would have been nice. Thank you.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The location was good - close to town centre and restaurants. An on site cafe very convenient for snacks and drinks. Excellent breakfast and extremely good value for money.

Staff were excellent, breakfast was not so good, Need some real coffee, the machine coffee is awful.

The Hotel is ideal for people who want to be in the center of FARO: the main shopping street with the best shops is virtually just round the corner. All the good restaurants are close by. Unfortunately, as so many others, the Hotel is not at all equipped to accommodate wet beach towels and swim gear. You need to pimp the bathroom with removable hooks and hangers as there is very little space to hang up your things. Faro is a nice base for excursions to various exciting beaches! (e.g. Desert island)

The room is spacious enough for its price. location is very convenient, just a few minutes walk to the city centre and the old port. clean and neat room. staff are friendly and there are not enough of them and they don't really know the facility of the hotel

A VERY clean hotel with a wonderful location. The staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that my "double" room was actually two twin beds with HARD mattresses. I don't know if all beds in the hotel are as firm. The bathroom and breakfast were adequate.

This was my first visit to Faro. Hotel is centrally located beside the main shopping area of the town and within a 10 minutes walk of the bus and train stations. I spent 2 nights in this hotel - typical 3 star premises with helpfull staff. Breakfast adequate, but limited choice of foods.
