exterior
The recently renovated hotel Chateau Eza enjoys an enchanting location in the village of Eze on the French riviera, offering the highest standard of comfort in a quiet and cozy environment.
The hotel is housed in a castle of stone on a narrow cobblestone street, too small to be reached by car. Upon your arrival look for the Relais which houses our donkeys at the bottom of the village, our valet will park your car and show you the way. The walk (light hike) up through this village full of history, is the best way to discover its charm and secrets.
The hotel is closed from mid-November to mid-December.

City Area:French Riviera
Mediterranean
France
The medieval village of Eze, accessible only on foot, is situated at an altitude of 430 meters above sea-level, on the Moyenne Corniche, between Nice and Monaco-Monte Carlo.
Among the most interesting sights to visit there are the Roman archway and barbican entrance to the village, Le Jardin Exotique - an exotic cactus garden with view over the sea, coastline and mountains - the ruins of the Old Castle, located at the highest point of the village, destroyed by order of Louis XVI, now popular for summer concerts and the church built between 1764 and 1772 and recently restored and embellished; do not miss to visit the Chemin de Nietzsche, a narrow footpath connecting the old village with the sea, where the famous German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche wrote the central part of his masterpiece Also Sprach Zarathustra.

The stay at this hotel was excellent. Services and kindness of hotel staff was better than we thought.

The hotel location was beautiful and staff were very helpful and we received a nice welcome. I felt considering the cost of the rooms there was a lack of areas to relax/lounge without having to purchase something- as was the case with the terrace areas. The bedrooms decor was very period and I would have preferred a more contemporary feel. We dined at the restaurant one of the evenings and had a fantastic meal.

Chateau Eza is extremely beautiful and well worth spending a couple of nights in. I'm not sure you need longer as it is quite a walk in and out and a fair way from anything else. We found the restaurant disappointing for the price. We had a much better view from our balcony and enjoyed a simple meal with a bottle of wine much more there on our second night. But the hotel and staff service are magnificent.

Chateau eza is a fantastic location for a special occasion. It is not cheap but the quality of service and the location make it ideal for a special occasion. We stayed in the least expensive room and although we didn't have perfect view of the sea it was very comfortable and well worth the money. The only possible bad thing to say is that there is quite a hike on foot to the hotel through the historic village. But it is well worth it when you get there. Top marks to the staff there all very friendly and helpfull. Don't be shy to try the little cafes in eze for dinner, the quality is excellent. Oh and watch the price of taxis to monaco- they seemed very expensive.

The hotel was great. You obviously pay for the location & the view. Ate in the hotel restaurant on last night.Meal was good but the prices of the wines was astronomical (160 euro for a 15 euro bottle of wine!)That said we still had a great time & its an ideal spot for a special occasion.

Hotel is excellent and the view from the hotel is beyond expression. One problem is that there is no way to get to the hotel by car. Only walking or climbing up the hill is the method to reach to the hotel. 80-year-old grandfather found difficulty to stay at hotel. In the map of the website does not show this point clearly. I, myself,is very satisfied with the hotel and would like to visit again.

Beautiful!! Had to HIKE up to the chateau and it nearly killed us but it was well worth the climb. Restaurant very expensive and we were disappointed in the food but view was incredible. Would stay there again but eat elsewhere.

we were staying in the 'jardin' room which, was simply stunning and could not be faulted, with an amazing view looking down to the beach and across the mountains. a huge 4 poster iron bed(not shown on website)was great (!) and the 2 arches in the room added the feel of an original feature. the bathroom had an excellent round bath big enough for two and just needed a jacuzzi!!. The champagne list was huge, and quite expensive, starting at 130euros but the laurent rose slipped down fantastically and it was a nice touch to bring chilled champagne glasses with cherubs on the stem rather than standard glasses. all staff were very friendly and accomodating especially the poor porter who had to lug up 2 cases from reception to our room - quite a tidy climb! The website does not do this hotel justice and is a must if visiting the area, if not just for a drink in the bar to see the views. we had been recommended to eat at local restaurant,'mas provencal' which is a must - a 5 minute walk to a great experience - 200 gladioli above one table, 3 live trees and plants and tropical flowers everywhere! the food was stunning, some of the best we've eaten and the service very efficient, but not in your face, with friendly staff.

This was the most beautiful, picturesque and relaxing vacation ever! The facilities were absolutely perfect, the service was discreet, friendly and attentive, the food & champagne were brilliant! We especially loved relaxing with our lovely flutes of exquisite champagne each day on the umbrella covered veranda. Would stay again and again.
