exterior Hotel Monestir exterior The HOTEL MONESTIR is situated in a very strategic place, very close to the big tourist places ( 35 Km.), but with a calmness and weather enviable.

Situated at the feet of the Poblet’s Natural Park, and only at 500 metres of the Monastery of Poblet (Poblet Monastery, Monastere de Poblet, Klostern von Poblet), we found the Hotel Monestir ***, one of the most immemorial hotels in Catalonia (was well-founded in 1860), fully renovated following the rural style, in order to please our customers with a high quality stay and service.

Due to its privileged weather and the medicinal water of the area, that nowadays still comes out from the Hotel’s taps, it is obvious that the zone where the Hotel Monestir *** is in, was chosen by former Spanish king Alfonso XIII and his sisters, as a place for summer holidays.

wat a bad welcoming, not a word, no information about the things to visit. For breakfast, nobody to see, several biscuits pvc packed, some old bread, very poor indeed. We were very desapointed, the level of the standards didn't match at all with the price.

Heat was not on in the hotel and an electric heater had to be provided by the very helpful clerk.. Hotels should have heat routinely available.The room was not cheap, so I felt that the value was not good.

On arrival it was strange as there was no evening meal available, we had to go over the road to another hotel for this. However the breakfast was very good. The tiled floor of the room was a bit cold for the time of year and we would have welcomed a rug or two and also an extra pillow, but we still very much enjoyed our stay there.
