Amazing hotel: the room was spacious and very clean, every detail was perfect, and there were many welcome treats. The staff was kind and really at your disposal for everything. Location was great to get around Edinburgh. I cannot recommend this place enough and I'm definitely coming back myself

The staff were very friendly and the accommodation was good. We had two small issues - firstly there was no-one around reception when we arrived and I had to use my mobile to call the hotel to get some-one. Secondly the digital tv and dab radios did not function easily. Instructions could be much more user friendly. The wireless internet signal was also very weak. Having said that, we would definitely stay here again as the rooms and staff more than made up for the minor inconvenience of no tv.

We enjoyed our stay at The Rutland. The room was large, with great views. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The interior design of the hotel is quite whimsical. We usually stay in more economical hotels, but this one was well worth the extra cost.

How to reach The Rutland Hotel
By carAt the end of the M8 motorway join the A8 and follow the signs for Edinburgh city centre. On approaching Princes Street turn right at the traffic lights on to Lothian Road, then take the first turning on the right, directly in front of the Caledonian Hilton , The Rutland hotel is on the corner on the right hand side, past the taxi rank.
The journey from Junction 1 of the M8 to the hotel usually takes around 40 minutes.
By train
Edinburgh Waverly Station:
From the station exit turn right in the direction of Princes Street and then left into Princes Street towards the west end.
By the church, turn left into the Lothian Road, Take the next right by the Caledonian Hotel follow the road around, on the corner on the right hand side is the Rutland Hotel.
By airplane
From Edinburgh International Airport, take the A8 east and follow the signs for Edinburgh city centre.
