Given that it was festival time, I had no other choice but to stay in this rather overpriced hotel. Even though the staff were friendly, they clearly did not get around to cleaning the rooms properly every day. On my arrival, there were still the towels from a former guest on display in my room and obviously nobody had got to the bother of hovering the carpet or cleaning the shower for quite some time. Furthermore, there was a construction site directly below my bedroom window which resulted in lots of noise during the daytime, but which was not mentioned when booking. The hotel is also situated quite far from the city centre - clearly, you can get better value for money in an ordinary B+B.

Very good location but the room was really too small.

Staying at Inverleith Hotel was a nice experience from the beginning to the end. I was there with my 10-year-old son, my father and a nephew (22) and had booked a family room. The lady gave my nephew an extra room, for free, which made our stay much more comfortable. Although small (I didn't expect anything different from that), the rooms were extremely clean, cozy and warm, which was were important for a Brazilian family, not at all used to snow! The breakfast was delicious, and when we left earlier, before breakfast time, there was some food packed for us. The main attractions are within easy access by bus, but we prefered walking, which is a pleasant activity. The hostess gave us full information about the surrondings at our arrival. If we returned to Edinburgh, for sure, we would stay at the same hotel again.

The room we stayed in on the first night was very small - really only for one person. The manager moved us to a larger room for our second night. Considering that the hotel had few guests at this time of year, it would have been good to have been offered a choice of rooms on arrival. I mentioned too that (contrary to Venere practice) my card account had been debited at the time of booking, rather than at the end of the stay. No explanation for this was offered. These niggles apart, we enjoyed our brief stay, and were warm and comfortable. The breakfasts were good. The decor was in good order. Prospective stayers should be aware that there is no lift. Access to Edinburgh centre was easy and quick by bus. One of the best features was how quiet it was. The single photograph on the site of a bedroom shows the one rather grand room with a four-poster. All the others are more conventional, and smaller - be warned!

We were there early June. It was a bit warm in the room without fans. Felt cost was rather high. Rooms very small and a ways from the main tourist attractions. Great bus system to help you get around. We enjoyed our visit & everyone was very friendly but would not stay there again.
