The best hotel we stayed at during our Europe trip. The hotel is clean, staff is excellent, service is also very good. The only bad part is the neighborhood. On one side of the hotel there is a rough neighborhood.

This is an excellent hotel at a very reasonable price. Finding that internet access and local tram travel were both completely free was an added bonus. In a 14 day holiday staying at 8 different hotels from Germany to Tuscany, this was the only hotel to offer such facilities, and the choice of breakfast here was the best by far.

2 Colleagues and I booked ourselves into the Lessing Hotel last week for an award ceremony in Essen. The staff at the Hotel were very helpful and polite above and beyond our expectations. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable with the bathrooms being very clean after recent refurbishment. This hotel offers great value for money, is set in a peaceful location and is a great base to explore Dusseldorf. It is only a 20 min walk from the centre of town or a 5 min (7 Euro) Taxi ride. I would certainly return to the Lessing when I visit Dusseldorf again.

Very friendly staff and very good location. A bit of walk to station but suited our needs ideally!! Make sure you take the right exit from the station or you will be very confused! It's the Bertha Platz exit!!

The Lessing hotel in dusseldorf is a very confortable, very quiet and not expensive Hotel regarding the cleanliness and spaciousness of bedrooms as well as the quality of provided services. Moreover, the hotel is located close to the old quarter of the city, which can be reached by foot. Nevertheless, the unique negative point I found is the surroundings with lots of homeless...

As the answers show, I was very satisfied with the hotel. Only a small surprise: at the day of my departure, the hotel would close at 4:00pm; I wanted to leave my luggage in the locker room, because my flight was scheduled for the evening;I had suddenly to leave my luggage at the Hauptbahnhof; they should have informed me before! Anyway, this doesn´t change my favourable opinion about the hotel.
