I stayed in a room directly in front to Alt Stadt, it could be quiet only around 2:30AM (in a week without exhibitions in the Messe). Hotel stays above a bar, with a separate entry, reception is at the bar, open until 1:00AM so if your flight delays... you need to advise! But the separate entrance and keys work very well. I would rate the hotel as a 2 stars. Breakfast is very good.

Right slap bang in the middle of the Altstadt, so an excellent location. If you're planning a big night out (as we were), this is great. If you're looking for a quiet night, should probably avoid. In fact our room was high up, so possibly it wasn't noisy even when the street below was thronged with people...but as we didn't get in until 4am, and we'd had a few sherbets (the local brew, altbier, comes highly recommended!) we couldn't really tell, and were in no state to care. The wi-fi didn't work on the upper floors, but worked fine down in reception (which is actually a bar opening onto the street....though there was nobody there when we arrived, even though "proper" bars nearby were packed). The breakfast buffet was good (it's hard to go wrong in Germany...) but they ought to cover up the cheeses and cold meats, because there were various flies buzzing around, which somewhat put us off...

I think you could mention that the rooms are above a Irish Pub.... With loud, very loud karaoke till 4 pm..... Location of the hotel was in the middle of the Altstadt which was perfect. But next time a more quit room please. Breakfest was perfect as was the service.

Situated in the middle of the Altstadt. Good breakfast. My room was at the back of the hotel and was very quiet. Room could perhaps do with a lick of paint but are clean. Overall very good value for money and I would stay here again.

Above all a fantastic location - right in the centre of the action and moments away from a selection of great bars, food and the river. Room and hotel facilities were good. Our room was at the front so some noise, as you would expect but absolutley no compliants about it at all. If ever back in Dusseldorf will stay here again.

It's right where the action is! My front room could have been a disaster if I was a light sleeper. I slept through all the partying in the street and enjoyed the great location in the Altstadt. Within walking distance of the lots of landmarks, art museums, architecture plus more.

Hotel Alt Dusseldorf was a welcome surprise. The hotel is in a great part of town. The staff was outstanding. Zaida and the young man that work there went out of their way to help us since our airlines was on strike. The hotel is small, but very charming, exactly what you would hope to find in Europe. We were in the back of the hotel, and it was very quiet. The price was excellent and included a good spread for breakfast. I would go back in a minute.

Small and cute hotel in the middle of the city. Noisy Street, so it's probably better to have a room on the other side.

Two females travelled and found the hotel to be a lovely small hotel, fantastic location with friendly staff. Breakfast was great. We had a quiet room as requested, but did hear other people weren't so lucky. Would use again if I went to Dusseldorf as is in the centre of the old town and perfect for the Christmas market and shopping. Great value for money.

The staff was friendly and nice, even providing me with an iron when I asked. My original room was on the front, which was nice but very noisy from the street below. The rooms on the back are quiet but on an outdoor staircase which made me a little nervous to leave the windows open. I loved the location - right in the heart of the old city, accessible by tram and subway.

I had a room at the back of the hotel and it was very quiet. The location couldn't possibly be more central. The only down-side was the over-zealous cleaners trying to come into the room at 10.30 each morning.

It's great, right in the no automobile area of the oldtown center. The room was spotless, the bed was large and soft, and I had no problems. My room was across the street in an annex and gave onto the street, but the glass was double-pane and it was quiet in the room. I'd go back in a minute.

This hotel was hard to find mainly because it is so compact. The location was excellent with everything you would want as a tourist round about you. The hotel itself although small was clean and tidy with regular housekeeping service. The only problem I had was that my room was at the front of the hotel on the first floor above the street which was rather noisy at times especially when the pubs started to close.

The hotel is situated at a very convenient location in Dusseldorf. It is easy to reach the local areas and also to the areas outside Dusseldorf by Underground and Train. There are plenty of restaurants with different cuisine in the vicinity. The pig's knuckle is recommended. The beautiful scenary on the River Rhein by boat is also recommended. You would have an in-depth experience of Dusseldorf by Bike Tour. I do expected an internet sevice, electric water kettle and some tourist information to be provided at the hotel.

I liked this hotel fine, despite the somewhat surly staff and noise from all the surrounding bars until 3 or 4 am, but when I checked out, I was charged DOUBLE the rate I was quoted through venere.com, even with my printed confirmation in hand. It's definitely not worth double an average rate, and I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you're willing to pay an exhorbitant mystery price for your room.
