We had a great time in Dublin and our hotel had a lot to do with that. The room was very clean, spacious and had everything we needed. The staff was extremely helpful. They gave us directions to a number of tours we took and even helped set up a few of them. We did find the hallway a little loud at night as a group of men were staying on our floor and got locked out of their room late at night and were banging on our door. Despite this little hiccup - I would still reccommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Dublin!

Overall the hotel was quite good for the money. The upgrade to the Premier Club Room was worth it, as it ensures you are in the rear upper floors of the building, and away from the train station that shakes the front of the hotel, containing most of the regular rooms. Cleaning could have been better if you're staying more than a few days (I was there for 14) however, nothing was horrible. I would give the Irish Breakfast Buffet a pass, as you can find the same, or better, breakfasts at other places in the city for half the price. If you're from North America, you'll probably find the breakfast really heavy anyway.

Good position and nice rooms (premium rooms). The only bad thing is the noise of the trains (the hotel is in front of the train station)

So disappointed in this hotel and location. The room didnt have a table to sit at and only one chair, yet it was a double room. The ironing board and iron needed replaced as they were old, worn and ironing board broken. The pub next door was in need of a good cleaning and make over. I did not feel safe in this area at all, which made my time in this hotel very unpleasant.

This was a first time stay at the North Star. I booked a family room for myself and three friends. It was roomy enough, quiet enough, and great location within 20 minutes walk of our furthest point of interest (Temple Bar). The bar downstairs was good too. Maid service was every day. Gym and showers downstairs were a pleasant surprise and made it easy for 4 people to get cleaned up in a short amount of time. Will definitely stay here again if the price is right again.

The Front of Hotel is very old fashioned and hides the the new building very well. McCoys bar is in need of decoration but the staff are very friendly and helpful and a great nights entertainment was had on the Saturday night, food ok too. The hotel staff could not have been nicer or more helpful, I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to my friend.

Only 10 mins walk from the main O'Connell Street and Temple Bar area. Only problem was the noisy dustbin lorries at 11pm in the street below! Room spacious and clean, and staff very friendly. Overall a very pleasant hotel which I would recommend to anyone.

Our 2 night stay in a premier club king room was very comfortable except for the 1st night due to train noise. Didn't notice this as much during 2nd night. Fabulous bed.Would recommend ear plugs for light sleepers. Didn't dine at hotel.Leaving cases at hotel after check out was great and meant we could carry on sightseeing until later in the day.Costs 3 euros per case.Area around hotel is not very nice as there are lots of beggers and other undesirables. This didn't put us off though as it was always busy out and about with lots of tourists coming and going. We took the number 41 bus from airport for 2.20 euros to Lower Abbey St. Hotel was easy to find.Need to purchase ticket before entering bus or pay exact amount on bus.

Better value than other hotels close to city centre. Small supermarket close-by. Ideal location for connecting with bus station and within easy walking distance of city centre. Best to use taxi/public transport after 7.30pm, particularly in Winter, as not much activity in streets to centre after dark.

My son and I spent one night in North Star. We were over for Italy match so location was good for Croke Park also close to O'Connell Street. We booked a twin room and were given a suite which was great. Spacious and spotless. We did hear some street noise but normal for inner city hotel. Well pleased.
