Ramee Guestline Hotel - Dubai

The internet service is very bad and not explained properly. Your time continue to run out after you logged off. Other hotels offer a better service, like Comfort Inn.

The staff were not prompt, and kept me waiting each time I went to the front desk, they were not courteous or competent

Hotel is situated on Al Riga Road where you can find many cheap but good food restaurants, money exchange office, small food store and photo studio. Close to the hotel are also bus stops (10 minutes walk - at the end of Al Riga Road). Take 22 to Al Mamazar Park - Great Beach (30 minutes drive), 27 to Mall of Dubai (at least 1 hour drive) and Business Buy etc. Do not spend to much money on taxes as buses works despite everybody will tell you that they don't. Huge problem is heavy traffic on the roads all over Dubai. You need Taxi to Palm Jumeria (take it at Mall of Dubai), you also need taxi to speed up from time to time. Do not take taxis for long distances as you do not need them. Hotel is also very close to the airport and at the same time there is no Jet noice. For Shopping go to Diera Shopping center - 20 minutes walk or take a bus - cool shopping center. Be awear that prices are in all shopping centers very close to the prices in EU. I found better buy in USA than in Dubai for many technical goods. Breakfast is Buffet one. You can eat as much as you want. Everyday there is also cooked food for example eggs, baken etc. Have dinner on one of the Restaurants on Al Riga Road. The only problem of the hotel is Disco in Ground Floor. Request room in 5 floor or above. Generally looking Hotel is good choice. I would book it again.

I stayed at this hotel 2 separate times in January 2008. The first time I arrived around 9:00pm and was taken care of promptly and given a lovely 2 room suite (I had reserved only a standard room). Everything was great. The second time I came around 1 pm, when people were checking out, and I had to wait in the smoke-filled lobby at least two hours. Incidentally, I read in the Dubai paper that a non-smoking law had just gone into effect, to apply to public areas, but the hotel ignored it. Eventually, I was given a room that had numerous things wrong with it, including a number of broken, dirty, or non-functioning items. Most of them were fixed, either that day or the next. But the chain on the door was not fixed, and the lock on the door to the balcony may not have been properly fixed. The adjoining room(s) had access to the same balcony! The hotel staff did tell me that all rooms are being renovated and I happened to get one that had not been yet. The breakfast was adequate, but the tablecloths were disgustingly filthy and never changed. This area was open as a 24-hour restaurant, as well. The hotel is in a good location, about mid-way between the airport and the old downtown area. The neighborhood has dozens of interesting restaurants and cafes, and even lots of fast-food places. However, the beautiful boulevard on which the hotel is located is currently torn up and fenced up in part because a metro is being built.
