L Hotel Dresden Altstadt - Dresden

The immediate surroundings of the hotel are uninteresting, and it is relatively complicated to arrive at, by car, due to the one way streets, rail crossings and tram tracks in the old part of town. But the hotel is really only a few minutes walk from most of the historical sights, and it is easy to find those. For those who do not want to walk at all, there are tram stops on the block. All in all, the hotel is excellent for those who have come to enjoy the old town of Dresden, and spend most their time visiting museums, and enjoying the sights. I didn't sample the bar or kitchen at the hotel.

A nice, clean hotel in Dresden. The nice breakfast is reasonably priced. When I got there in late morning, I stood in line for my turn, but the receptionist kept helping the guests who were checking out and out of sequence until I got impatient and tired of it, so I complained to somebody else whom I thought to be a higher authority and when he talked to the receptionist, she called me to the counter to let me check in. The hotel is in a sort of commercial/industrial area, but this was not a big deal to me since I stayed there only one night. Not sure if I will go back.

It was very new and in great condition when we stayed there in August, 2008. Parking is available in a garage next door, which is fairly convenient. Locating the hotel is difficult due to its slightly out of the way location. It is a longer walk to the historic district than you would expect. With 2 older persons in our group it was necessary to take a cab there. Rooms are well furnished and nicely designed but storage space is very limited. There was not an enclosed closet. Breakfast was great but expensive.

This hotel was an excellent value. Brand new and spotlessly clean. The rooms were very small but we were very impressed with the creative floor plan and design, every inch used to the best advantage so you dont feel cramped. The breakfast was o.k. and given the location a good idea since there didn't seem to be much else around. Its not directly in the historic part of town but we didnt find that to be a problem. I would highly reccomend this hotel to anyone.

The first time we stayed at this hotel everything was wonderful, then two nights later we needed to stay the night again and not only did they refuse to give us a room at the rate we had two night earlier, they told us that they never have rooms at that rate! Also, breakfast is 15 euros for an absolutley standard breakfast that should only cost 5 euros top. Oh, and the train runs less than 300 meters from the hotel, so expect to hear it a few times.

Hotel had opened only a month before. Photos/Location were misleading. Difficult to find - even with navi in the car.Service at reception, bar and restaurant was very friendly and competent.Rooms were quiet. Not tolerable was the fact that towels were not changed within a stay of 4 nights although they were put on the floor as a sign of request for change.The used towels were put back on the hook/bars though they had been on the floor before. Just impossible!Parking conditions should be improved!Walking distance to Altstadt 10 minutes.

I was very pleased with the hotel, and with its location, though its immediate environment is a multistory carpark. A major problem was that it was very difficult to find; its address is highly misleading, and it would have been helpful if the website were to include information on how to get there from the Hauptbahnhof, which is quite easy once you know. The room was above average, and the staff extrememly helpful.
