Restaurant/DiningThanks to an agreement with the awarded local restaurant, guests at Hotel Pop will benefit of an excellent cuisine. The restaurant is located just in front of the marina, and the building is adjacent to the hotel. Guests will appreciate the sea view from the three terraces or may decide to eat in the fresh air-conditioned indoor dining rooms. The à la carte menu features starters, first and main courses and traditional Sardinian and Italian desserts. Clams, fish and seafood are the main recipes ingredients, but a great choice of dishes made with porcini mushrooms or truffles are also available. The restaurant is open from midday until 3.30 p.m. and from 6.30 p.m. until 11.30 p.m. -

I would strongly recommend this hotel for its good relationship between price and quality. Pop hotel's position is perfect for peolpe who want to rent a boat or buy a ticket for a trip around the wonderful area of the Orosei Gulf (the minicruise and the visit at the Bue Marino's Grotto cannot be missed), because it is situated in front of the port, with the ticket counter at 50mt and the first beach at 200mt, so reachable by foot. It is near the main restaurants and pizzerias, and even the hotel itself has a restaurant with good italian courses on a terrace directly in front of the sea (very romantic at dinner!!!). The room was very clean, comfortable (tv, air conditioning, fridge, even a small private terrace) and spaceful, but i must specify that they gave us a triple instead of a double room due to lack of availability. The staff was always very kind and particularly careful to their guests'needs. The only negative thing was that the furniture and the ceiling were too old. If they renewed it, it would become probably a 4 stars. If you are not looking for a luxury vacation, but you just need a comfortable place were to sleep and maybe taste some good italian food after having spent the whole day visiting Western Sardinian Coasts, this hotel is for you.

Venere rate given was substantially higher than the hotel's normal rates. I did receive a discount, however. Essentially, this is a typical tourist development building above a pizzeria. Car parking not as easy as the website implies.

I had to complain 3 times because there was no hot water in the room in the evening. The boss came to check in our room and said he could not do anything about it. We felt like we were disturbing them as if it was normal and not a big deal.This is purely unaccceptable when you pay 60 Euros for a night and eat in addition for 70 euros in their restaurant. There was no appologies and no compensation was even offered. It is also worth mentioning that the noise of the sea beating the rocks erery minute all night long is unbearable as the windows of the hotel are not soundproof.

By carFrom Olbia harbour or Airport, take the SS 131 bis State Road following direction Nuoro. Take the exit Lula-Dorgali, and follow the signs for Dorgali. Then follow the signs for Cala Gonone. You will pass through a tunnel, and after the tunnel you will find the signs for Cala Gonone. In Cala Gonone, follow the signs for the marina (Porto). The hotel is located in the marina area. From Alghero, take the SS 131 State Road following the signs for Sassari-Cagliari, then follow direction Cagliari-Nuoro and take the Nuoro exit. Follow direction Olbia before entering the town of Nuoro. Then, take the exit Lula-Dorgali and proceed as described up above.
