Hotel was quite a distance from the railway station. Rooms are very dark and have no privacy as curtains are see through and look out onto a pebbled courtyard. Staff speak very little English.

We loved this hotel, we stayed twice, on the way down to the south of France and on the way home. We had two rooms, one slept 3 and the other slept 4 and they were both clean and spacious. My daughter payed 3 euros for internet access for the duration of our stay and this was such good value. The staff were so friendly to our children and my 6 year old couldn't wait to stay there again on the journey home. We loved the fact that it was so French and no English was spoken. The breakfast was great value at 7 euros a head (better than in one hotel where we payed 9 euros each!) and the breakfast room was so small and so French. It was a perfect place to stay and we loved the creperie (Dominos) which was just around the corner. Also Dijon is such a beautiful old city and within walking distance and safe enough for my teenage duaghters to explore by themselves. There was also a great park on the way into the city, perfect for our youngest two children. I'm so glad we chose this hotel it added to our wonderful holiday in France, I will definitely stay here again. If you love France then this is the hotel to stay in!

Hôtel très agréable, accès par un passage peu fréquenté à petit batiment calme autour d'une cour (ombragée par un arbre bicentenaire) où l'on peut garer la voiture. Le centre historique est à 10 minutes à pied. Bon rapport qualité-prix

I booked a triple room for 2 nights as i am travelling with my mother and sister. The hotel is just 5-8 minutes walking distance from Dijon Ville SNCF and another 5-8 minutes walking distance from Centre-Ville(i.e. the arch). We were in Room 15, on 2/F. The hotel has NO lift. Since our luggages were very very heavy, the hotel staff (a very handsome strong middle-aged man) helped us to fetch the luggage to the room. The triple room was quite large (a single bed and a double bed). It was definitely a very reasonable (cheap indeed) price as it is just 62 euros for a triple room, i.e. only 21 euros per person! There was WIFI service at 3 euros (unlimited access until the end of the stay). Yet to access with a CORRECT password was a painful experience. As the hotel staff (that very handsome strong middle-aged man) didn't know English and he gave WRONG login name and password THREE TIMES, i wasted a lot of time in trying to access WIFI because of this! (VERY ANGRY)! I couldn't access WIFI in the 1st night, and the second day the man gave me his OWN login name and password before he finally gave me a CORRECT one that i should get used to it!

We had a lovely room with a window opening onto a private courtyard. Rooms were clean and quiet. The hotel was not far from the station and had sign posting to help you find your way both from the station and from the town centre which was only a short walk. We would definitely recommend this hotel to other travellers.

Nearly impossible to find this hotel coming by car a Sunday night at about 22.00. We could not find any street signs. Dijon seems to be a nice city, however we had not time enough to spent.

For the price you can't ask for more. No one spoke a word of English and were not very friendly. We only stayed for one night. It has parking which we needed. Also it was farther from the center than I thought, about a 15 or 20 minute walk.

I was skeptical at first looking at the hotel online, the website didn't do it any justice at all. The hotel was great, especially after a disappointment in Paris. The room was large with private bath, newly remodeled.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Thurot. A perfect location, with only a 10 minute stroll to the centre of Dijon. Rooms were clean and with adequate space. Friendly staff and a big plus is the secured car park. Breakfast quite basic but we will certainly be back.

Whilst I appreciate that qua;ity comes at a cost, I feel the hotel required a thorough renovation. Decoration furniture were poor and the hotel appeared very neglected. Location was adjacent to the centre. If I had booked this for any longer than one night I would have been extremely upset.

The room, though small, met our needs. The staff accidentally gave us the wrong room at first(it was needed for a larger family) but they were very polite about asking us to change and located a book we lost in the shuffle. The a/c worked very well in contrast to several other places we have stayed. The breakfast was not suitable for a diabetic so we ate breakfast out.

It was good for one night and it was reasonable for the price; however, if you're staying in Dijon longer than overnight, get a nicer place in the centre. Look for the gorgeous OLD yew tree in front of the hotel-- a heritage tree. Lovely.

Have stayed in several 2-3 stars hotels during my trip to France, and I have to say I was most disappointed with this hotel. The family who owned the hotel were warm towards us, however, they can't speak basic english. We have to communicate with body language during our stay. We were staying on ground floor room facing garden. There was a aircond in the room, but was turned off. We requested them to turn it on, but they said weather was fine to sleep without it. However, we dont feel safe to sleep with the windows wide open, so we prefer to have it on. Then they said the aircond was spoilt. We didnt request for another room as we only staying for a night. Another thing is the bed is really soft, gave us back pain after one night.

The hotel is nicely situated between the city center (5 min walk) and the railway (5 min) station for those using trains to travel. It has a big open air parking lot surrounded by the hotel and the gates are closed at 23:00 to keep the cars safe. You can really keep an eye on your car if you would like. We found it good for a family with younger kids as the room had a separate small bed for the kids, and the hotel is not high, not a lot of stairs. It is a perfect stay if you want to discover Dijon. For those arriving with a car, make sure to park near by and find the hotel by walking around. It is not directly visible from the main roads and the sign of the hotel is put on a very old and scary building, which has nothing to do with the hotel, but has good visibility. The hotel itself is in between two major streets, but it has its own alley.

There's nothing wrong with the hotel per se, and it is in a good location if you need to be close to the station. However, an extra daily tax per person was added to our bill, the bathroom smelled very bad when we arrived, we were only given one proper pillow, the reception is often unmanned, and on one of the days the room was not serviced at all. I would go back here, but only if I couldn't find somewhere else first!

Hotel Thurot staff was very helpful. Room was atractive and a good value. Hotel is a little hard to find but they have a sign which helps a lot, on a nearby busy street. We stayed there because it is near the railroad station and found it to be a great hotel. We would stay there again.

This was my second stay at this hotel. Good location close to the train station and close to Darcy Garden. As you read a few of the reviews they say they felt the neighborhood was unsafe. I disagree. Some of the older narrow streets may seem a little seedier than center city's wide ones, but if when you leave the hotel you make a left to Rue Victor Hugo, your short walk to the city's center is on a beautiful wide street. Also, at that corner you have an ATM, a great patisserie, and a supermarket. But, if you always go that way you will miss the Creperie Domino which I highly recommend just around the corner in the other direction.

For a category 2 hotel it is quite confortable. The only thing I did not find so good, was the fact we reserved a room with separate beds. When arriving we were told, that a big group has arrived and there is only a room with a kingsize bed. Apart of this everything was fine.

Hotel Thurot was a lovely surprise. I have stayed at many two-stars in Europe, but this was the least expensive and by-far the nicest. It isn't the quaint, old-world hotel some may want, but it is spacious, bright, and very clean with its own charm -- not a dismal plain room like so many budget hotels. The staff spoke no English, yet they tried to be helpful. Was convenient to the train station, but could use a better map on the website. About a 15 minute walk into the historic center. Felt safe walking. I'd stay there again, definitely!

I had a large room, but it was very noisy as the neighbors (not hotel guests) were up all night. Other rooms might be fine. It was convenient as it was only a five minute walk to the train station and a one minute walk to the nearest bus stop. Very friendly receptionists. Very good value for the price. I would definitely stay there again, but in a quieter room.

Quiet and pleasant hotel; it was extremely hot during our stay in June so the smallish room was rather too warm at night; the bathroom however was spacious and well-equipped. The breakfast buffet was good, although occasionally they ran out of things like croissants. But overall, good value for money, quiet and clean: I would definitely stay there again.

Our room was clean but tiny - just the bare essentials but I guess you can't hope for much more at that price. Apart from the cleaning staff, hotel staff were not particularily friendly or eager to assist (When we wanted to check out we were told to come back in half an hour, at which time the same person who sent us away earlier made us wait till she finished her cigarette before checking us out). The hotel is quiet and centrally located, all in all not bad if you're just looking for somewhere to lay your head.

Nice and close to the station, although we didn't find the map on their site to be particularly helpful. Once we arrived at the hotel it was unclear where the reception area was. Exactly what a typical **-hotel in France offers: no air-conditioning, no ventilator, a tiny size bath and a simple, no-frills continental breakfast. The facilities were clean and inviting, staff helpful and good marks for the on-site parking facilities (though limited) and proximity to the train station and city center, but still in a very quiet neighborhood. Drawbacks: no elevator to the upper floor, no climate control to battle hot nights. If you come by car: invest in a good map of the city!

Brand new bathrooms, good cable (don't know French but the pictures were nice). Room price was very fair. Had to drive to city center, but we were in a very safe area, it was just boring. But, for the price we paid, it was a great deal. We did no eat breakfast due to our schedule, but it looked good. I would go back again.
