This was our first time at the Milner out of many stays in Detroit, and the experience was absolutely horrible. We were told to park in the Opera House parking structure, which has no affiliation with the hotel and turned us away due to a full structure. The staff had absolutely no idea how to handle the situation. We ended up parking in an unmonitored lot down the street for $20. Additionally, our room was extremely small, non-functional and outdated. The toilet was in a tiny corner; the carpet and bedspread were probably from the '80s. The elevator was old, cramped and rickety. We will never stay at the Milner again, nor recommend anyone to the hotel.

Modest hotel at great location. Dead center! They did not advertise free internet in rooms - which made me mad (I did not take my laptop). They offer smoking room and that was a heaven for me - poor nicotine addict. Pricing? Way lower than in Croatia, but... a room in Hilton Airport at St Louis costed only 60 bucks. Rooms can-t be compared bz anz means...

Great location next to the Detroit Opera House, near Greek Town and People Mover. Hotel was a bit funky which I expected from the reviews. Anything from the old steam heat, to door knobs that came off once or twice. On the other hand an interesting building, triangular elevator, typical breakfast service. For the price we were very happy.

The staff were very friendly ,the room was small but very well stocked and clean, the breakfast room was clean and well stocked, dissapointed that was under the understanding there was a pool, and hotel parking however there was not, the hotel offers passes to purchase to the YWCA facility close by and the parking is paylot only that the price varys daily. We were told we could park in front of the hotel after 11 am but still recieved a 20$ parking ticket . The location was great for the activity we were there for as well as numerous other activity offerings very nearby. We will definitely be using Venere agian and will certianly stay at the Milner our next trip to Detroit as well as be recommending both to our friends and family.

Firstly, I love old architecture, so the fact that the Milner Hotel building was built in 1902 was very attractive to me. I stayed in a VERY spacious room with one regular bed; there was no A/C, which wasn't a problem as there were 2 windows in the room that let in November cool air. The bathroom and the dropped ceiling were obviously not original aspects of the room, so if someone is expecting aesthetic perfection, these things might be seen as detracting. For me, the price was awesome, the room was clean, the bed very comfy, and the t.v. offered around 20 stations plus there was a nice coffee maker with coffee in the room. Excellent for the price!
