Residence Il Sogno - Desenzano del Garda

This was my third visit to Dezenzano but my first stay at the Il Sogno. I have to say the apparentment was most disappointing. We booked a one bedroom apartment for the first time ever on holiday anywhere in the World, the apartment had a kitchen, dining area and bed all in the one room!! The fridge was droning continuously during the night and did not help to achieve a good sleep. The bathroom was separate so I suppose that was a plus!! Our apartment was facing out onto a car park at the rear and the decor externally at the rear left a lot to be desire. We did have a small balcony at the front but definitely no lake views in sight. It did look out onto a nice garden. On one evening when we were about to go out to dinner, there was no hot water and we could not shower. After protracted discussions with the staff, the water was not turned on until next morning.I cannot understand how this Residence received a 4 Star rating. Hotel which we stayed in on previous two occasons was definitely 4 Star. However,I did have one good experience in Il Sogno. Towards the end of my holiday my Credit Card was stolen and the Receptionist (who had excellent English) could not have been more helpful in sorting out the cancellation. Definitely will not return to Il Sogno and would not recommend to friends.

Modern hotel in excellent location just 3 blocks from the lake and lakefront shopping district. Rooms were spacious with balconies and kitchens. Abundant free underground parking. Staff was friendly and helpful. Nearby supermarket had excellent prices, especially on some outstanding local wines.

We arrived late in the evening and had no trouble finding the place. The location is faily quiet, just a short walk to the old town of Desenzano with plenty of bars & resturaunts which come alive in the evenings. The harbour is close by with regular ferry services to just about anywhere on the lakeshore, Sirmione is definately well worth a visit, about 15mins by boat. The rooms are spacious with a small kitchen area, a dinning area & private balcony, all the staff were friendly and helpful with the rooms serviced daily. There's a small private pool & sun terrace which was well kept but very little else on site, this might be a problem if you need to keep small children entertained but it was great for us as we only intended it as a base for which it was just about ideal. We had a thoroughly enjoyable & relaxing stay, I would certainly consider staying here again.

A nice place for an inexspensive stay. Well situated and kitchen with 2 rings and full utensils and crockery allows you to cook meals have snacks or just have coffe and biscuits. A lagre balcony with table and chairs is super as is living room with settee and TV. Daily cleaning is a bit quick and not very thorough but fresh towels daily is great.

We are definatly coming back next year!

Das Zimmer war ok, jedoch das Frühstück miserabel. Nach Reklamation gab es Brot, Schinken und Käse. Vorher nicht einmal ein Brot. Für den Preis ist das Frühstück niemals 4 Sterne wert. Werden nicht mehr buchen.

Very friendly welcome and very big rooms. It is a few minutes walking from Desenzano pedestrian area. A good place to recommend.

La struttura è veramente molto bella, giardino compreso. Anche l'appartamento che ci è stato assegnato era molto carino, ampio (costituito da bagno, camera da letto e cucina/soggiorno, tutti molto spaziosi, più balconcino) e pulito. La zona è tranquilla, a metà strada fra il centro/lungolago e la stazione. L'unico piccolo neo è stato a livello organizzativo, perché la reception è chiusa dalle 12.30 alle 14.30, e siccome siamo arrivati con il treno all'una abbiamo dovuto aspettare che aprissero. A parte questo il servizio è davvero ottimo, il rapporto qualità/prezzo anche, e mi piacerebbe poter tornare per rimanere più a lungo che solo un weekend.

This was our first time at Residence Il Sogno and also our first time to Lake Garda. Desenzano is the best place to stay in Lake Garda as it has plenty of reasturants and bars to pick from, beautiful views of the lake and easy access to other areas of the LAke. This also includes a 20 min train to Verona. The appartments were fabulous, very clean with friendly, helpful staff. The appartments were spacious and very good value for money. The appartment was tastefully decorated by plants making it a relaxing atmosphere to be in away from any potential noise of the town centre. It is convieniently situated with a 5 minute walk into the centre of Desenzano which is located on the Lakeside and 10 minute walk from the train station. I would recommend this appartment to anyone wishing to go to Lake Garda.

We just want to say the guy who run this hotel is maybe one of the nicest man we have ever met! We really enjoyed our staying and the city. The hotel is located 150m from the "center" (which is also the Marine). One remark - this hotel does not provide breakfast! we did'nt notice that in the order. (It turned out great because we had a very tasty breakfast in some Caffee near the lask..!) Enjoy!

We had a wonderful weekend at the residence. When we arrived there had been a mistake and so we were given a bigger apartment for the same price, but unfortunately we didn't have a view of the lake. I don't think it is possible to see the lake though, as there was a hotel being built next door (no noise disturbance at all I'd like to add) which would obscure any view. The rooms were very clean and warm and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back.

Very pleased with the residence and would certainley return again in future.

Hotel is very good choice for family travellers.Ve had exxellent apartments.Two bedrooms,livingroom,kitchen,big terrace in top floor.Good location.Easy accses from motorway or even trainstation.Free garage was also good.Friendly staff in reception.Once again,good choice,if You want space.Not just a room.

the facilities werespotless and the staff couldn't do enough to help although I was a bit concerned that you couldnotget to speak to anyone after 7pm when the reception closed, blamed on the fact that "the american tourists phoned the emergency number all the time and he was trying to sleep so ignored the calls". god forbid if there was ever a real emergency, as in my case when I needed to get my pasport back for an early morning flight!Otherwise, Brilliant
