Hotel City - Desenzano del Garda

Excellent hotel, friendly staff, clean rooms, good breakfast, convenient location

Hotel proved a brilliant location so close to both train station & ferry port. Only minor crib lady in Tourist Office in Desenzano not very friendly or helpful ... maybe she was having a bad day but Hotel City Reception lady & night reception made up for her ... truly fabulous stay and we will hopefully be back in the Spring (God willing!)

Very good position, close to port, shops, restaurants. Within walking distance from the train station, if you know or ask your way. Competitive pricing policy, too. We were given very nice, obviously recently modernised, stylish rooms. Very pleased of them. However, new modern windows do not cope with the noise and you wake up early in the morning when the first bird decides to give you a wake up call. Good breakfast. Good choice, would definetely recommend to others.

Wow what can I say! This hotel was excellent in every way. Location was second to none, approx 350yds(up a slight incline) from everything; the lake front, the ferries(excellent connections to other resorts on the lake) and all the shops,bars and restaurants. However a little confusing from the railway station as there are no signs for it. Had to rely on a good sense of direction and luck! The hotel was friendly and clean, a real gem for the price. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and of good size. Breakfast had ample choice for a continental breakfast.Good tourist info available in reception. Overall would most definitely go back and if you want to visit Lake Garda but may not be able to afford 5 star, choose here you will not be disappointed.

Hotel staff extremely friendly and went out of their way to help us.Rooms very clean.Breakfast good.Excellent location for touring.Train station only 10 minutes walk,ferry around Lake Garda 5 minutes walk.Visited Venice,Verona,Gardaland and had a wonderful holiday thanks to Hotel City.

PRO Ottimo albergo, vicinissimo al lago ed al centro di Desenzano. Facile da raggiungere in auto e con un buon parcheggio interno compreso nel prezzo. Sempre compresa anche l'ottima ed abbondante colazione. CONTRO. Le camere sono un po' piccole ed il bagno piccolissimo. CONCLUSIONE. Un buon albergo di qualità. Ci tornerei volentieri.

The hotel was nice and confortable. There is a confortable parking.It is not so far from Gardaland and Parco Sigurtà.

Hotel recomendable con habitaciones muy correctas y trato muy agradable la localidad donde esta situado es con diferencia la mejor de todo el lago hay ambiente pero no agobia los restaurantes son de calidad y hay tiendas de las principales marcas

Very good position next to main square and in quiet position. Very comfortable parking area. Price is a bit high related to overall service provided, breakfast fair to good. Our room was good and clean but next to another "noisy" couple's. All other things were fine and quite pleasant. Nice surroundings.

An enjoyable stay. Rooms are small but well organized. The bathroom is adequate, however the shower is quite small. Location is great, 2 blocks and you're in the center of town. We had a very comfortable and relaxing stay, so we're going back and staying at The City Hotel again.

We would cetainly recommend this family run hotel as it excellently situated and has extremely helpful staff.

Chosen because it was relatively close to the station and near the harbour. Slight drawback was that it didn't mention that the station was at the top of a steep hill! Otherwise a pleasant hotel within easy reach of the town centre but away from the noise.

L'albergo è abbastanza carino, il personale non eccessivamente caloroso ma gentile, la stanza dove ho trascorso la notte piuttosto piccola, la colazione abbastanza scadente. Un po' caro rispetto a quanto viene offerto.

The hotel is well located for the town centre and the lakeside, but on a side street without heavy traffic. Some building work was taking place nearby, but was not a problem in the evening or night. Breakfast was adequate. Seemed to be one of the few hotels open in the town in early March.

The location and price were excellent, as was the welcome. This would be our first choice hotel if we were ever in the area again!

A central location, clean and comfortable. The Ferrari room and memorabilia is very interesting.

We were sorry that we only had one night at this hotel, only a few minutes' walk from Lake Garda. It offers excellent value for money.

Arrived late at night, and had slight problem locating hotel amongst all the others, as hotel is down a side street, and we had no local map. Facilities very good for this standard of hotel - I think that the hotel had been a higher grade before, or else was about to be upgraded. Personally I was delighted to find that the hotel was the base of the local Ferrari Club, with pieces of Formula One cars in the dining area, and Ferrari memorabilia in the meeting room! Daytime Reception Staff very helpful indeed - my wife left her jacket at previous hotel in Siena and the lady at reception contacted that hotel and arranged to have jacket sent back to Ireland for us. Again I would suggest that it would be beneficial to put either a map or precise location on the website, or to include this information with the confirmation of reservations
