The Cívis Grand Hotel Aranybika is situated in Debrecen, the cultural, scientific, economic and commercial centre of Hungary. Good location, poor outdated facilites, shabby rooms in need of renovation. Hardly comparable to a four star hotel in western Europe. The location was great, everything else sub par. Had to ask at breakfast for basic items e.g plates and tea. Also, there is a dodgy bar underneath inside the hotel building and a sleezy atmosphere in the lobby in the evening. The spa facilites were also outdated and changing rooms smell bad. Great jacuzzi, tho! Just don't expect a 4* experience or you'll be sadly disappointed.

We had the worst rooms ever reserved with 4 stars.First of all istead if a single room my mother got a twin room, old furniture, spacious rooms but unfriendlynot more than 2star hotel.The only good thing is it's position.Good food in the restaurant if you want to have a dinner, breakfast was good, coffee bad,juices are colored with chemicals not recommended.

A big deception ! The first room was not ready at my arrival (7 P.M.) and then I discovered the bed was foldable (! - the kind you would not put your mother-in-law on). I asked for another room with a normal bed and I got it. But there was a fiesta in the hotel restaurant, with music till 4 A.M. ! In a hotel I want to SLEEP. Difficult there.
