Hotel Pullman Teranga - Dakar

This hotel was properly top of it's class 15 years ago and still offers good quality. It's location, especially for business, is excellent, right in the city centre. It allows to walk out and get to shops, cafes and restaurants without having to get into a taxi. The infrastructure, esp the rooms and bathrooms, are a bit worn out, though of ok quality. Rooms are quiet, service is good (very good) and the hotel is ready for international guests. Wifi is sometimes slow, but in general it works. Buffet is your standard 'we try to cater to everything', though could use some more care and some extra products (more and fresher fruit, more choice of bread, cereal, nuts etc.). We had a great deal online, though the regular price is typically as much as the Radisson Blu, which we think is a-ma-zing. Radisson Blu has the disadvantage that you need a taxi to get to places (except for the mall next door), but I would have - hands down - booked the Radisson Blu, if Teranga would have been it's normal price, equal to Radisson Blu. Swimming pool is nice, although they were cleaning it 2 out of 6 days that we were there, with the alternative being access to a very small beach and the ocean. This worked well though. Room service is great and excellent. Response to our queries, like no iron in the room or clogged up sink, got responded to immediately. But they should have not been needed to begin with :) There is some inconsistent service with content of minibar and amenities in the room not always the same. The first days we changed rooms because of the clogged sink and some mold/wet spots on the ceiling of the bathroom. Great and efficient move, but again, this shouldn't happen in a hotel that hast his profile. Our new room was as we expected it.
