Room (bathroom) was not properly cleaned, bed was not comfortable as double room and the furniture was so old (old-fashioned) that it seemed dirtier than it was. All these things could not be acceptable for a 4 stars hotel! Maybe suitable for foreign tourists, not for Italian standard level!

Very overpriced and overrated hotel: no air conditioning working in room. We were told that another room would be found with it working but still we are waiting... No excuses nor apologies were given. Hotel is quite old, materials are rusty, paintwork in rooms starts to fall and needs urgently a reform. Too expensive for what is given.

Walking distance to downtown with spacious room and efficient staff. Bathroom was a little tight but it had both a bath tub and a separate shower which was unusual. Room was huge but little noisy facing the main busy road. Good value for the money

Nothing wrong with being an old-fashioned style of hotel, with the furnishings to match - but unfortunately dusting seemed to be a lost art. Good breakfast buffet and would have rated as good value for the £ if it wasn't for the dust.

The room was about right for the price charged. The furnishings in the room were thread-bare and made you feel like everything was dirty,however, it was clean. It did not have a restaurant and there was not much around the hotel. I would not go to this hotel again.

The hotel was advertised as luxurious but we didn't find it so. The restaurant was also only average and the breakfasts were not very good. But the room was comfortable and the staff were friendly.

Location very good....but nothing had warned us of the 80 steps we had to ascend before reaching the property. Prospective guests should be warned of this. Also, some provision should be made for guests to make hot drinks in the flat.

Poor service in a 4 star hotel. One morning, coffee was even served by a cleaning maid. Cleaning was going on in the breakfast room every morning while people were having their coffee.

Continental is located in a very strategic spot if you wish to see the communal place in the centre of the city. It is very convenient 10-15 minutes walk in every directions leading to many tourists' places of interests. It is rather pitty however, that such a conveniently located hotel has a very old common facilities such as the only lift which often brakes down/ non operatable. There was one instance where the fire alarm rang but no hotel attendant reacted in emergency manner, or at least informing the guests that it was a false alarm. Therefore the occupants of that floor (floor 4 in which I was present at that time) thought it was just a false alarm. Just wondering if the alarm was in fact a real one..... Hotel receptionist is very helpful and kind. They attend to every needs the guests inquire. Even letting me know where to get to the good gellateria to get the best ice cream in town. One particular hotel attendant always remembers us and greets us on the street when passing by in his car... Very nice location to stay, but a little touch of renovation would certainly be required to improve for the safetiness and the comfort of a modern average hotel.
