Retired couple. 2 night stay. Appreciated the location, the ecological soap dispensers and the kettle and tea. But for a four star hotel aware of ecology I think you need to change the plastic cups and goblets to ceramic. Also in the breakfast room there was one apple,a few hard kiwis and an orange which had gone rotten. A four star hotel should offer a variety of fresh fruit. The members of staff should be crisply and neatly dressed and be aware of the price printed on the reservation for the garage.Noise insulation between rooms needs to be improved.

Front desk staff extremely helpful with reservations. Handled everything to our complete satisfaction. Their valet parked and retrieved our car for us as parking is very difficult in the center of Cremona, especially during the Festa de Torrone which was in full swing in November. Great central location. Balcony for smokers outside our room. Didn't have to smoke in the street.

The breakfast buffet was not replenished often enough so things ran out quickly.

OK, nothing special. Its sister hotel, the dell'arte is much better but always closes for the fiera. It was a one night room and did the job.

Described as: 4star hotel, newly decorated. Our room needed paint. Poor windows. Allthough on 4th floor you could hear people talk in the cafés below until very late. Loud music - no warning from staff!Birds, mostly pidgeons, as if they were inside the building above us, disturbing

Just a few steps from the Duomo in a (market) square with bars and restaurants, the Impero provides a higher standard of accommodation than the price suggests.

Lovely hotel in a wonderful city. The hotel is central and short walk to the Duomo and other places of musical interest such as the Stradivari's Museum and violin makers in the city.

My wife and I spent 5 days at the Impero in May 2007 with the intention of day-tripping to other cities via rail. The hotel was well situated for this; a small electric bus runs a loop including the train station and city center with stops very near the hotel. The only problem was that it rained 3 of the 5 days and on our only trip (to Brescia) we got lost; there was no tourist information available and almost zero English spoken in Brescia (we speak limited Italian). English in Cremona was also quite limited but passable. The hotel itself was fine. The first night we had a large room with a nice view but it was cold. The front desk said the thermostat must be broken and switched us to a slightly smaller room with no view but quite adequate in all other ways. The staff were friendly, helpful and spoke English although some seemed somewhat inexperienced and language problems of a minor nature remained. Breakfast was buffet style - ham, cheese, eggs, breads, rolls, pastry, fresh juice, coffee, capucinno, etc. and very good. We would recommend this hotel for most any type of traveler and the city for those willing to deal with limited English-speaking.
