Situated in the quaint village of Turners Hill, the Alexander House Hotel is the epitome of a English country house 4 star spa hotel. Despite being surrounded by beautiful English countryside, the hotel is surprisingly close to London.
Set in 175 acres of rolling parkland and manicured gardens, the Alexander House Hotel provides a peaceful yet refined setting for a English luxury spa holiday or a truly unique business meeting. The magnificent art works hanging on the walls and its glorious past as the home of English Romanticism's greatest poet, Shelly, makes its guests feel privileged to stay in this English country house.
Residents can pass their days unwinding in the aptly named Utopia Spa and enjoying the mouth-watering European cuisine served in Alexander's Restaurant. lighter bites are also served in the Reflections Brasserie. The highly professional staff, wireless Internet access and excellent meeting facilities also make this a superb venue for an insightful conference or business lunch.

The drive down the long gravel pathway and the warm greeting was enough to make me fall in love with this place instantly. The spa was great, the staff were exceptionally helpful and once I got over the strange idea of wearing a robe around the hotel, it was very relaxing. An overall fun experience at a fantastic price. The room, and gorgeous 4 poster bed was covered in decorative wood panelling from head to toe, making it almost laughable at how elaborate the decoration was. I'm glad we got given this room, rather than one of the newer ones; it made it peaceful, both for us and the others guests as we made quite a bit of noise when coming back from the local pub. The only bad thing I have to say about this place, is that the "Brasserie" was absolutely AWFUL. I wouldn't wish my worst enemy to eat there. We thought it might be nice to eat there the first night, and then ended up eating at the local pub instead the rest of the time. Do your self a favour and avoid the Brasserie like the plague. Despite this culinary setback, I would still give this place a 9/10 and will definitely be visiting again sometime soon.

By car
From the M23 motorway: exit at junction 10 and follow the signs for East Grinstead. At the second roundabout, follow the signs for Turners Hill (B2028). Once in Turners Hill Village, turn left at the crossroads (B2110) to East Grinstead. Alexander House Hotel is on the left-hand side after approximately 1.5 miles (2.25 km).
