Copthorne Hotel Effingham Gatwick - Copthorne, Crawley

We checked into our room and the plug in the sink was stuck so water filled up everytime we used the sink. I reported this at 1pm and I was told that it would be reported to the duty manager and that I would receive a call back shortly. I heard nothing so I called back again at 4:30pm at this point the water was nearly overfilling out of the sink! I was told that somebody would be with me to sort out the problem within 15 minutes. I had to call again at 5pm when I was told that somebody would come and see my shortly. Finally at 5:30pm somebody came with a plunger and they were not able to take the plug out as it was too stuck in. I was offered an alternative room which I was told would be on the ground floor, the same as my original room. It wasn't until 6pm when a member of staff knocked on my door to inform me that my new room was going to be on the 3rd floor! And I was offered no help in having my luggage taken up either. The reason for my stay at this hotel was becuase I was attending a wedding at the same venue. The wedding reception started at 6pm, but I had to miss 30 minutes of this because I had to change room! I am absolutely horrifed of the way i was treated and the delays that incurred. The hotel was fully booked at there was just not enough resources / staff to deal with our problem.

The Hotel is in need of a full refurb, the room was so dated, and smelt of mould. Carpet thread bare. Check in was from 2pm room was not ready until 3pm.
