The hotel is just outside of the city walls which is a 5 minute drive. The restaurant is excellent, must ask Joseph about the wine list and his suggestions. I would return.

We just had the most succeeded( but too short) vacation to celebrate our 20th Anniversary in Corys and Cortona. The hotel was little, but very cosy and romantic and service was just great. It was nice to be able to walk from the hotel to the city of Cortona even if it was dark already, felt safety and it didnt take too long (10-15min).We had a car also and we visited citys nearby ( Arezzo,Montepulciano,Pianza) and also drove to Lake Trasimeno. Already planning to return!

We really enjoyed our week in this quiet hotel perched on a hilltop with a gorgeous view over Cortona. Breakfasts were excellent and the staff were friendly. Particularly a good spot for those with a car as it is a fairly long walk into town, although the walk is very pretty. Dinners were a bit expensive but good. We had an apartment with a kitchen which was nice.

Un site fabuleux, un accueil impeccable, une maison de village en pierre pour nous seul au lieu d'un appartement annoncé, très calme. Seul problème, plus d'eau chaude le matin !

Corys is a one-of-a-kind hotel with astounding views of the surrounding Tuscan countryside, and very close to downtown Cortona. We were there on vacation, and had a car, so it was a fast drive to town. We booked a triple room, and ended up with the apartment across the road from the hotel that had a three bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, two stories, wonderful views and I could go on. Highly recommended and the best hotel of our stay! I gave photos only a five as they don't even begin to show the beauty of the area around the hotel.

The people at Hotel Corys were very helpful, the rooms were excellent and their breakfast buffet was outstanding. Their restaurant is in the same building and was pricey, but delicious. We will happily go back there for another visit.

The cancellation policy was not reasonable. As I was already within the 3 month time when I booked the room, it would be appropriate to provide for a 2-3 day window to cancel without penalty. The cancellation policy was in Italian. This makes it difficult for non speaking Italians.

Staying at the Hotel Corys was the best part of our 2 week trip to Italy. It was a magical visit, complete with amazing views, tremendous food, and unexpected snows. It was a further walk into town than we expected, and taxis were hard to come by, but we had a fabulous stay there.

Upon arrival we were upgraded to an apartment because guests had not vacated the rooms we reserved--so we had an entire apartment (a few doors from the hotel) to ourselves for the price of a room. The owners were very gracious; the food magnificent. The President of Italy came to stay there iwth this retinue for a week as we checked out... That was fun! The breakfasts were generous as well. We enjoyed the Corys and highly recommended it.

Oh my gosh, what a wonderful place. We were put into the apartment which looks like someone's lovely home!! The front desk staff person was very friendly and upbeat. All in all, we had a terrific vacation here, albeit it too short.

The quality of the hotel, and the incredibly good food made the stay worthwhile. It was relatively expensive, particularly the restaurant, but well worth the price.

Hard to see how this place rates four stars. Our room had torn, stained linoleum on the floor, clunky old-fashioned furniture and walls that needed repainting. The bathroom was bright and well equipped except for the anorexic shower cubicle. Breakfast better than average, nice on the terrace. The hotel's big plus is its location on a hill ridge with great views to Lake Trasimeno and some good hiking nearby. Upper Cortona is a 10-15 min (level) walk along a pleasant lane. Not a bad place but you'd expect a better room for 124 euros a night.

Excellent hotel in every way, particularly for car users, and well worth the hike up the hill if don't have transport(n.b. those over 40 years or kilograms!) Swimming pool facility over the road - on left through a green gate - I missed it and ended up almost getting into someone else's private pool further up the lane! We were offered dinner at half board price (extra 28 euros per day - 2005 price) a massive saving on the a la carte prices, and the food was exceptional. You get a real feel of the Tuscan countryside from this vantage-point. Thanks to the brilliant staff - we will definitely be back but with a car!!!

I had no idea what to expect when I decided to stay at the Hotel Corys. What I found was a beautiful environment complimented with a great staff and wonderful food. Although the hotel is about a twenty minute walk from the center of Cortona it is a beautiful mountain road with a great view that takes you there. Renting a car is also an option as well as transportation provided by the hotel. If traveling by train to Cortona you have to get off at the Camucia train stop which is down the mountain from Cortona. I wish someone had told me that you will need to catch the bus or contact the hotel staff beforehand so that arrangements can be made for transportation. Other than that I would not trade this trip for the world. What a pleasant surprise!

Long walk from town, very steep downhill. No taxis available - at least that we could find -to get back. However, very possible to drive to piazza at gate of town and park. THen easy walk to everything in Cortona. Hotel was exactly as advertised. Breakfast beautiful, with gorgeous view down the side of the mountain with lake in far distance. Food at dinner excellent - pricey, but worth it - and excellent service. We'll stay here again.

Cory's Hotel in Cortona, Italy was outstanding. From our greeting by Sylvia to our dinner where we were feted by Guiseppe, the Manager of the restaurant, it was a delightful experience for my wife and I. We will most certainly be returning, not only to Cortona, but also to Cory's.

Hotel Corys was a charming hotel that we will definitely visit again. If you're looking for a cross between the hotel and Tuscan farmhouse experience, this is it. We appreciated that it was a bit out of the main town of Cortona, as we found the city to be full of Americans. Too many tour buses dropping off people who weren't even attempting to communicate with even the most basis Italian. Hard to avoid when there's only one main street. Even in the evening, the restaurant clients were mostly tourists. It was nice to see the shops open one morning when few Americans were around and get a "real" taste of Cortona... At Corys, we avoided all this and got a good taste of the townspeople -- all tremendously nice. The restaurant is excellent -- the best during our two week stay in Italy. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. The staff is very helpful and offers great advice. Not to mention that the bathroom has a towel-warmer and the breakfast was a marvelous display of beauty and taste. We woke up to roosters crowing, a majestic mist that unveiled a multi-green colored valley as the sun rose, and grape vines right outside our window. Sounds of Italian children playing. This was a most enjoyable experience.

Corys is excellent hotel, we had a wonderful stay in the hotel. When we booked the hotel, we were afraid of the way to Cortona, becouse of no map. But the road is flat and beautiful view and it takes 15 minutes walk to the gate bo the town. When we will visit Cortona in the future, of course we will choose Hotel Corys.

The only downside to this great hotel is that it's not close to any of the Cortona city wall entrances and cabs are scarce. After spending an evening in Cortona we had to walk 30 minutes up a dark and windy road as cars raced by us in order to get back to the hotel. Definitely rent a car if you plan to stay here.

Excellent in every way. What a pleasant, cozy, and friendly little hotel. I have nothing negative to say at all. However, it is a bit of a walk into the town of cortona, but what a beautiful walk it is. My family an I enjoyed ourselves immensely. Extremely friendly and helpful staff.

Hotel Corys is a great hotel with a fantastic staff. The only downside is that getting to the center of Cortona requires walking quite far or driving.

Our favorite place on our ten day tour through Italy. The staff was very accomodating. The view from our room was spectacular. I highly recommend that if you stay here, you have at least one meal in the restaurant. Fantastic. We loved our stay here. Be forewarned however that it is some distance from the heart of Cortona. It was fine for us as the walk through the streets of Cortona with the views of the Tuscan was spectacular, but those who don't like to walk should be aware.

We were pleasantly surprised at Cory's. We had been in Cortona the year before but had not heard of Cory's. The accomodations, were excellent, the people made us feel at home, the food in the restaurant excellent. The view and ambience were the best. Thanks and we'll be back.

Corys is a beautiful, well-maintained, and well run hotel. It was pricey, but worth every cent. The views from our room were stunning. While the room was on the small side, it was beautifully appointed and spotless. The bath was luxurious as Italian baths go. I very highly recommend this hotel. You do need a car to get to Cortona, but there was ample parking. Finally, the restaurant at the hotel is superb, even by NYC standards. The food was inventive, fresh, and the service gracious. The room is beautiful and restive with great views. The wine list is outstanding and the staff very knowledgeable. If you go to Cortona, you must stay here.
