The best Venere listed hotel we have stayed at in Spain. Great value, in respect to hotel facilities, meals staff competence , and location in-respect to tourist destinations in Cordoba. We have previously booked Macia Alfaros and would do so again.

Travelled here by train from Seville (very easy) and stayed 4 nights. Location was reasonable walking distance from main attractions but you could stay in several places that are closer. Not a problem during the day when site-seeing but a bit of an irritant if you want to go out again for a meal in the evening. Spacious twin room, good buffet breakfast, really helpful staff.

Great location, good value for the price paid. Breakfast not included quite costly, 11.35 euros. Parking was small but ok, with a high cost 17euros per day. Definitevily a good hotel to stay in Cordoba

Excellent hotel, centrally located, walking distance from most sights. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and spacious. The hotel has an underground garage for your car, however parking costs an extra 21 euros. Wireless didn't work in the room, however 2 pc's are available in the lobby area.

The hotel is walking distance from all attractions. The rooms are spacious, clean and very nicely appointed. The desk clerks were very polite and helpful. Could not pick up the wi-fi in my room, but was easy to get in common areas. Parking was convenient, right under the hotel, reasonably priced. Pool looks cool, but of no use to us for our winter trip. We did not try the breakfast (when in Spain we always find a bar for coffee and tapas or pastries, usually much better than any hotel can offer, and cheaper).

A fantastic hotel but, as others have pointed out, very difficult to get to if you're driving - a lot of the one-way streets are one way in the oppposite direction to what the GPS data says! But when you get there (eventually) you'll find welcoming staff, excellent public areas, a refreshing pool and good rooms, with effective air conditioning, clean bathrooms and everything you need for your stay. It's a bit of a walk to the old part of town but nothing too taxing even when the temperatures are over 40, which they were when we were there. The car park is a bit expensive at 16 euros per night (plus tax) so bear this cost in mind if you're arriving by car.

The hotel Macìa Alfaros is a great place to stay. It is built within an old Cordoba city palace. Nearby is the restaurant "Salinas" where you can enjoy a wonderful Spanish lunch or supper!

Fantastic cost/benefit - the best I got in Spain. I got this 4 star hotel by a very cheap price using Venere. The room is clean, quite and the bed extremely comfortable. The staff has a superb service. They also have a very nice swimming pool in the summer - and with that weather, it really makes the difference. Cons: a little far (not much) from the main touristic sites.

This 4 star hotel was very nice, clean, and well taken care of. There was a fairly small pool and some deck chairs on the lower level, a breakfast buffet and dining area there as well, and an underground parking ramp for approximately 16 euro per night. Unfortunately, even though the hotel was very nice, finding it turned into an hour long project since it is located towards the end of a one way street in Cordoba and while we were there, the street was blocked off for construction and a closer entrance did not allow anything but taxis, delivery trucks, and motorcycles through it. If you are renting a car and need to access the hotel with it, you will have to go to the exit end of the one way street which is next to the city hall, find a place to park on the street, and feed the meter. Had I known that this would be the case, I would have chosen another hotel even though the hotel itself is very nice.

The hotel is a perfect place to stay. Near the Mesquita andf the center of town. And as the temperature could be very hot .. never mind theey had a little but very usefull swimming pool. The breakfast is rich (may be a little expensive) and the employees are very kind.

Poor rooms. Avoid rooms number 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, they are on the basement just in front of the swimming pool: very noisy. Parking lot is a nightmare Poor breakfast Average hotel

It was a nice hotel, not to close from the city center by walking, but near enough. Very complete breakfast, in general it was very nice, the only thing I did not like is that the TV didn't work.

Nice place to stay in Cordoba. The position of the hotel is in a quiet street nearby the city center. All the main attractive place and restaurants could be reached on foot. The room seemed to be renewed recently and it was really wide, with all the conforts (including LCD television..)The small swimming pool was useful against the heat of August. Only problem: the garage was quite expensive.

Excellent price and value for money, we went in July2005, so discounted to 60 euros for double room. arriving by car, difficult to find although many signposts, you need to concentrate because of oneway systems. very central for sightseeing; would definitely stay again

Macia Alfaros is really a businessman-hotel: big, clean, a little bit anonymous – but the service is excellent: a really good room, clean and new bathroom, a very rich breakfast in the morning… Also very good is the own garage, if you travel by car like us. Bad news: if you want to discover the town (Mezquita / Juderia), you have to go all the way down the hill (ca. 15 minutes). Though, I can recommend the hotel and would go there again, because also the price was fair!

The hotel is VERY difficult to find. The room had a serious smell from the toilet. Parking was not indicated as extra but was. While the staff was courteous they seemed overwhelmed. Overall this was the least pleasant of our ten day stay all over Spain

The hotel was clean and spacious. The swimming pool was nice. Despite other comments the location is just fine and is about a ten minute walk which is not a problem. We had a nice balcony and it was quiet in the area around the hotel. However, at the time we stayed a private building was being built beside our room so there was a good bit of banging from 8 in the morning however we were gone for most of the day then and it didn't occur at night. The hotel star is more of a 3.5 star. I cant say we had a 4 star experience.

Situated in the old town down a narrow one way street not easy to find even though there are hotel signs around the town, you need a map. Lovely rooms ours overlooked the pool area and had a large balcony a new hotel but moorish in style within easy walking distance of all the attractions. we would stay here again

A business hotel with all the facilities you need, about 10 minutes walk from the Mesquita. Very welcoming staff, and professional throughout. We paid 64 Euros for the night - an amazing price. Probably worth asking for discounts at weekends and in high summer when the conferences are not in town. Lovely pool, although quite busy - hardly their fault. Not the most characterful hotel, but excellent value.

We found the hotel a welcome respite after a long airplane- Metro- and train trip to Cordoba. The beds were superb, and the shower powerful. The hotel was within easy walking distance of the historic quarter of Cordoba, and lots of bars and restaurants were nearby. I would definitely recommend it.
