Fantastic breakfast, good place in the centre

We 'upgraded' to one of the slightly larger double rooms on the north side with a slightly better view. Room was very quiet! Breakfast area was a bit crowded and rather warm when we were there. But, I've stayed here a few times and always had a quiet and restful stay...

Very good location. Small room on ground floor (street level)with backyard view. Bit noisy. Should have taken a more expensive room higher up.

Very nice hotel and an excellent location

In general, the hotel is good, but they took money from my credit card for breakfast, which wasn`t included, 440 DDK, and in 1 week didn`t send them back. There was a lot of mature people.

Good position and very clean. Maybe too much expensive.

Paid for a 'luxury' twin. Was given a very small double, which I was told was normal for Copenhagen. Nice enough, jsut not worth upgrading I guess. Was expecting more space. Good area to stay though.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel is an easy walk from the Metro. Price was quite high, but that seems to be the norm in Copenhagen. Bicycles available for rental on-site were a nice touch.

We have requested twice a double bed and we had two single beds. It is not so convenient...

Nice quiet area 5-10 mins walk from main square. Found a cheap bar with free pool table in side street nearby and a cool local bar opposite an indian restaurant 30 secs walk from hotel door. Close proximity to metro and all tourist attractions, Rosenborg Slot, Tivoli, Christianhavn, boat trips (Little Mermaid). Expect to pay over the odds for beer and food in main tourist area, have a look around and interact with friendly locals for good areas to go. Overall, a picturesque, clean city, safe relaxed and unintimidating atmosphere and the local people are friendly, don't be afraid to try a little Danish language....enjoy!

This hotel is in a fantastic location in beautiful Copenhagen. However, the hotel itself is very average and the receptionists were cold and unfriendly. Nothing special about this hotel except the location.

We chose this hotel due to higher ranking on Venere. We stayed 4 nights, after a business trip. Lovely breakfast, well worth the $20 USD. Best location, welcoming check-in, a nice room for the first 3 nights. Last night, the plumbing ran loudly all night. No sleep... I have rated the "Quality of Service/Services and Facilities offered" = Poor = 0. This is due to the taxi service the hotel calls for its guests. If you are a single woman/two women traveling together - beware! Although very fast to arrive, we encountered 3 taxi drivers (out of 4) who were rude and verbally abusive. I have travelled without incident to England, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand and the U.S. This is the most disturbing anti-tourism discrimination I have ever encountered. One night, my employer was ill, and we ordered a taxi to go to dinner. The driver yelled at us that people walk in Denmark and we should not have ordered a taxi(ie: he was not going to make a lot of money out of us). I apologized and said that we had just arrived, we did not realize the distance, and the next time we would walk. He shouted, "I should hope so!" and I then said, "There is no need to be rude." I asked to speak to a manager at the hotel, and was advised that there was no manager. I asked that the hotel send a written complaint to their taxi service and the office employee I spoke with advised that there is nothing that they can do. No apology, no follow-up. Nothing. The final insults came from the drivers to the airport. My employer left the day before me. On each ride, the behavior was inexcusable! We only had trouble with the drivers called directly from the hotel. The vendors a hotel recommends to its guests reflects on the quality of the hotel. I cannot in good conscience recommend the Hotel Copenhagen Strand.

Overall, hotel is very nice. The size of the rooms is a bit small (not too small though). The most unpleasant thing was that the window was facing an adjacent building which was about 3-4 meters away, which meant no real feeling of privacy unless you close the curtains. Other than that the hotel is good.

Good place to stay on the nowadays idle waterfront, triangulated between Nyhavns restaurants, kongl theatre-shopping and gov-financial districts. Newly renovated to somewhat traditional marine-wood-brass-cruising style.

This hotel is great. Clean, competent staff and it's location is perfect. The only thing missing is air conditioning when the weather is warm.

First I got a very tiny room in the back building. The suites facing the canal however are very nice!
