Carlton Hotel Guldsmeden - Copenhagen

I really enjoyed my stay at Carlton Guldsmeden, and I would try to stay there at my next trip to Copenhagen. The only minus was that breakfast was not included in the price, this should have been noted in their information. Normally breakfast is included in the hotel price in Nordic countries.

Our stay was only spoilt by the heat of the room so had to have windows open which made it very noisy from road traffic however the staff, breakfast and quality of the rooms were impeccable our daughter had a room on the other side of the hotel and this was perfect!

Thoroughly enjoyed this hotel. Good value. Extremely helpful pleasant staff with a way of making a young 4 year old happy. A bit down at heel in one of our two rooms and the smaller room was very small really. However, I would visit again and would recommend this to my friends. Good breakfast too.

It was really nice hotel with nice room. However i must admit that Vesterbrogade is a bit noisy, so if noise from a street is unacaptable for you you should ask for a room with windows to the yard. Otherwise i would really recommend this one to stay.

The hotel is nice, as indicated by internet photos, and the location is good as well. Breakfast was a very good option. The only problem I had is that I was charge 2.5% extra because of paying with Visa,and this was not informed by venere or the hotel reception when I arrived.

first time here, good breakfast, nice rooms, but expensive, problems in the bathroom were solved, rooms in the backhouse are quiet, there are also some bikes available

friendly hotel with service oriented staff..reasonably close to train station but you will not get a taxi to take you from the station to hotel so be ready to lug your own bags

Firts time in Copenhagen. Clean and comfortable rooms. Excellent organic breakfast. Wifi in the room but 3euro/day. Bikes for rent (15 euros/day) but they were not in good condition!

Nice staff, offering us a free drink on arrival. However, the first room we got was still occupied by someone else, so we moved to a room on the second floor - large, nice bed, comfortably sized room and surprisingly quiet to be situated on the first floor facing Copenhagens main street, Vesterbrogade. The two great drawbacks of this hotel are the following: 1) Cleanliness. One is not supposed to find short black hairs in ones bathroom when one is a blond Scandinavian. Black hair on both radiator and soap dispenser in bathroom. Not trustworty! 2) Location. My girlfriend and I thought we could take a slightly different way home...why did no-body warn us that Isdegade, the nearest parallell to Vesterbrogade, is the home of brothels/prostitutes, aggressive heroin addicts and worse? We did not feel safe, and I reckon we were'nt either. I've been to Paris, Barcelona, New York, Lisbon etc. etc. Never have I felt so bad in the centre of a city. Hotel staff should definately warn their guest not to travel on other streets than Vesterbrogade.
