I was generally disappointed with the hotel. While the room was nice, the elevator was so small, we had to go up one at a time. And, we had to walk up a half flight of stairs to get to the elevator and then down a half flight to get to our floor. With heavy luggage and no one to help us, this was upsetting. Plus the hotel was over 10 blocks from the heart of the town so it was inconvenient. We found many nicer hotels at a cheaper price in better locations. I clearly would not stay here again and surely would not recommend it.

My first impression of Bertrams was that the foyer looked a little tired. However, one soon learnt that it was all to do with the rustic look. The receptionist made us feel so very welcome. Our attic rooms were very quaint, very clean and the bed the most comfortable I had slept in over the five weeks we had been travelling.Tea and coffee downstairs was complimentary at any time. We often made a cuppa and took it out into the beautiful courtyard.

I'm not sure why everyone recommends this hotel. First of all, the location is very bad part of town, dirty area, even near a slaughter shop. Hotel is almost like a run down place, elevator is extremely small, and if you're in 3rd floor, you have to take elevator to 4th floor then down one stair to your room. Bathroom do not provide bar soap, just liquid soap. The shower has no curtains so the water goes all over the floor which has a very bad drainage system. Water just stays all over the floor. The idea of environmental or green hotel is just absurd. Not really sure what it does to save the world ! I will never recommend this hotel to anyone. It's overpriced, service was so so. And please do not ever call a cab to the hotel they start the meter from where they left, not the hotel.

A quaint hotel with a lovely outdoor enclosed courtyard in the back of the hotel where you can sit and relax while enjoying a free drink. The grounds were nicely landscaped. Centrally located within a mile of Tivoli gardens.

Family hotel feeling. Very nice breakfast and breakfast room. You are more like family guest than a hotel guest. Recommended. Stariways and a stair to the elevator which is quite small may make this hotel a little difficult for people that have very small children.

Overall a very pleasant stay and a good choice to a reasonable price in the city of Copenhagen. The location is perfect, short walk into the city center or bus stop just outside the hotel. Friendly welcome and very nice staff willing to help and give good advises. Parking facilities are limited, but there is option to buy daycard for parking in the nearby streets for a reasonable price. However it is not guaranteed a place...... We didn't choose the hotel breakfast, there are small shops and cafés nearby where you can buy your breakfast, and it is a very nice (however expensive) baker in the same building as the hotel. Copenhagen as such is a lovely city, you'll never get bored in that town. Ask the staff for tips what to do, they will really try to help you.

This is a fantastic small hotel that is a great relief from the big chains. The rooms are full of character, and the breakfast is superb with a wide range of healthy options served on fantastic pottery. I would definitely stay again.

Lovely hotel, very clean and staff very pleasant. Rooms were very pretty if a little small given the 4* rating. But it was the most comfortable bed I've slept in in a hotel in a long time! Fabulous feather duvets (plural, one each!) and feather pillows which I adore! Only noise I heard was from some road works a few yards down the road which couldnt be helped. Would definitely go back!

We stayed here twice and each time it was like returning home such is the warmth of the staff.Food was delicious(best marmalade ever)Location is rather depressing and distance from station meant one needed to use a bus but we would certainly return to this hotel.

The room was small in relation to price charged. Hotel further away from central station than expected as seen from the map. Access to the room with suitcases uncomfortable, as elevator goes from half floors and you have to walk up half a floor to reach it...Otherwise, bed very comfortable and the organic ecologic charachteristics of the hotel very appreciated.

I can just repeat what everyone else already said: a small hotel with great character, aesthetics all around you, a whole range of nice touches like renting bikes directly at the reception, complimentary drinks in the evening (although no complimentary breakfast :), hotel's own production of shampoo and soap with exclusively designed fragrance... The usual Internet corner isn't a corner here: it's a laptop that you can use while seated at your favorite spot in the athmospheric garden inside. The bad sides are shared with other hotels in Copenhagen of this type: very crammed rooms, no air conditioning, location on a busy street (so you have a choice of restless sleep in a stuffed-up room or restless sleep in a noisy room :)

Agreable hotel; room well decorated; near the centrum of Copenhagen; very nice and delightful breakfeast.

I requested a quiet room but got an unbelievably noisy room and eventually(after one night) got a room at the back. The hotel was 15minutes walk from the city centre and I enjoyed my stay there.

This hotel is absolutely amazing. The staff were so helpful. From the fabulous buffet breakfast and dinner, to the complimentary organic beer on arrival. Beautiful room. Small but perfectly nice bathroom. A totally positive experience. The staff were excellent. We hired bikes from the hotel (excellent service) which I recommend as the best way to get around the city. The sites are quite spaced out and having bikes makes seeing everything so much easier. Great!

We stayed in Bertrams Hotel Guldsmeden for 2 days in March. We were very pleased with the friendliness of the stuff. They were very willing to assist us in every way possible. Organic breakfast was very nice, for those seeking quality but not big variety. Standard double room was very elegantly furnished but it was rather small for a 4 star hotel. And it could be a bit cleaner. Location is quite nice and with the bus stop (line 6A) right outside the hotel's entrance, access to almost all city using the various public transportation is very easy. Overall experience, is good. Would reccommend it for young couples.
