Splendid hotel and employees helpfull The surrounding of this hotel is not particullary beautiful. For us it was very good because very near of the central station Tip: The restaurant just on the other side of the street is good and nice

1. I just received my American Express billing for the stay which came from Ascot Hotel NOT Axel Hotel, but the amount of charge was close to the amount of the receipt received on departure, plus, I think, a $9.00 charge for use of credit card. Is Ascot collectilng charges for Axel? 2. The entry was dangerous, for loose boards were on sidewalk.

The hotel is nice but the advertising on the web page about SPA it's not accuracy at all. The SPA facilities have no supervision, are small, plenty of stairs and dangerous due to the type of floor. The sauna were cold and the jacuzzi, the only spa facility together with a very small cold pool, has space for only six people. So can not be consider as a SPA hotel facility.

This hotel would qualify as a good two-star hotel. Four stars - not even close. The area has added conveniences nearby, such as a sex shop, and some people in the area seem to work in the related industry. The room was small, and the only ventilation I could find was a crack under the door. Windows were glued shut. The shower stall had a common floor with the bathroom, so you needed waders to enter after taking a shower. An outlet for the provided hair blower was blocked by the mirror... Four stars?

Its design is unconventional. But cool, calm and collected. It's located in a part of Copenhagen that might make the prudish slightly uncomfortable. But it's close to the main station, so what do you expect? The staff are disconcertingly young and casual dress is the order of the day. But they're uniformly delightful - charming, efficient, helpful and friendly. The fabulously funky evening buffet is unlike anything I've come across in a hotel before. We loved that the chef wandered around the dining room chatting to everyone about what was on offer, what would be ready in half an hour's time and what people thought of his new healthy version of a Ceasar dressing (excellent, since you ask). The veggie lasagne was one of the best lasagnes I've eaten and I'm not even a vegetarian. Something to do with the sweet potato and pumpkin, I think. My only complaint would be that we didn't stay long enough to try the spa. I'll be putting that right next time. This is now officially my favourite hotel in Copenhagen.

The staff were very friendly and the hotel itself was 'interesting' some good ideas gleaned from the visit. One criticism was that the breakfast seating could have been better and the table clearance more efficient, it was a busy period when I was staying there and the staff could just not cope, there was a long wait for a table and you had to find your own way around the buffet breakfast, again the buffet serving table was on the small size and there were queues forming. The rooms were small but good but the bathroom could have done with a shower curtain and shower bracket over the bath, I like shower but not one handed, the water was everywhere!

Excellent hotel, clean, friendly. Next to the train station. But I would not like to walk arround in this city area late at night just on my own.

I would definitely stay here again. The room was clean, spacious & comfortable. The organic breakfast (although not included in the price) was lovely. It was convenient to the central train station and staff were welcoming and friendly. Overall, a really pleasant environment.

The hotel claims to be environmental friendly and ecological and still they change all the linen "by force" daily that is totally unnecessary.

Excellent one-night stop-over on my car trip from Greece to Finland. Conveniently situated near the Tivoli and railway station, the hotel was easy to reach by car. Parking was safe but expensive in parking house around the corner. Being lucky, my single room reservation was upgraded to a suite, so price/quality was excellent. Hotel surroundings shaping up. Delicious bio-breakfast served from handmade dishes. Beautiful indonesian kimonos for sale to take home as souvenir or gift :) Nice staff.

An excellent hotel, the staff, breakfast foods, room facilities were all first rate, similar to at least the quality of a five star. Only negatives were room was little noisy being closest to a lift, heels easily heard walking in corridor all hours and upstairs guests easily heard walking around in their room. Some attention to accoustics of hard floors would not go astray. I will definitely stay there again. Surrounding areas not overly encouring but hotel still close to everything with a short walk.
