Great hotel probably the best I've stopped in ! lovely location and staff! had a great drink in the bar one night with the owner and his son in law who was very friendly. I gave it everything a full 10 out of 10. I came back late one night at around 1.30 and the hotel seemed all shut up and the bar which did worry me a bit, but i rang the bell and the owner got up and let me in!! So ten out of ten - book it enjoy the stay and enjoy the views - amazing :)

I really am neutral about this hotel as it niether excited or really dissapointed me The view from the hotel down the valley is stunning but is let down due to a sports complex being bult right in front of the hotel. Apparently this has been going on for about six years but they seem to of finished the heavy/noisy work and only having the fitting out work to do. We got some noise on the day we arrived but they moved all the heavy machinary off site the following day and there was nothing after that The hotel car park is a secure compound but access is down a STEEP slope. The food at the hotel is OK but not startling and the staff were always very obliging and helpful Competa itself was a disapointment, pretty certainly but it has sold its soul to to the many British residents who live there. It certainly was not the "Spanish" experiance we were seeking

We cannot compliment the staff highly enough - unfortunately my girlfriend's bag went missing on the flight, and the gentleman on reception couldn't have done more to help us. The bungalows were excellent; really near to the pool, very clean, and it was nice to have use of kitchen facilities during a week-long stay.

This was a first visit to this Hotel and most certainly will not be the last. We found it very friendly from the moment we arrived to leaving, the staff being very pleasant and helpfull. The views from the terrace are second to none and the village of Cómpeta would be difficult to improve upon with it's beatiful flowers, well kept houses and very clean throughout.The Hotel and village are a credit to all concerned.

Difficult to find the hotel due to the fact that main entrance of the city was closed for works and lack of signposting. Access not easy by car, very narrow streets. For the rest, very quiet place, located in a typical white village. Good welcoming

Ideal for somewhere peaceful and reasonably priced, only 30 min away from beaches. Good restaurant with terrace seating, good pool, interesting town. staff very welcoming.

How to reach Hotel Balcón de Cómpeta
By carFrom Malaga city, take the N340 highway until Motril, ignoring the various side turnings. Continue on the N340 passing Velez-Malaga exit and take Algarrobo exit. At the first roundabout, take the third exit and go straight over the next roundabout until Cómpeta. Stay on this road through Algarrobo and Sayalonga. About a kilometre before you reach Cómpeta you will pass a petrol station on the right hand side.
Once you arrive in Cómpeta drive down into the village and where the road splits, take the right hand fork up. You will pass the main car park on your left. Then turn left at the Y-junction and follow the signs to Ermita de San Anton.
