An excellent hotel, with beautiful rooms and a great view of Lake Como. It has a gorgeous garden right by the side of the lake, where you can bask in the sun while enjoying breakfast. The only down side to this fantastic hotel is the close proximity to a very busy road. This slighty ruins the ambience while enjoying a glass of Prosecco on your balcony. Make sure you ask for a room in the middle of the hotel! However, I must add that the double glazing works wonders so you have peace and quiet at night. Although the hotel was busy the bar and restaurant were empty at night, so I wouldn't recommend planning your evening there. Instead go up the mountain 10mins (by car) to Il Gatto Nero, fabulous food with a view second to none! A complete hidden gem.

The hotel could be a very good address. It has been nicely redecorated and offers a beautiful view of Como and the lake. It is however a bit noisy fro the traffic (we had a lake view room, I don't wish to know how guests on the back can sleep). Unfortunately, the staff is not very helpful (except at the restaurant), the breakfast is poor for a pricey room (with paying supplements for eggs, etc). The parking is 25€ (no way to park without it), although it is quoted 22 on the website. The Wifi is terrible and very expensive at 8€ an hour. It is beyond my understanding that hotel owners can still think wifi is a luxury commodity to be priced accordingly. By the way the hotel still relies on the old italian law which requires a personal identification of every guest using the hotel wireless connexion. This law has been changed on Jan. 1. 2011.

We were in Italy for 3 weeks and visited/stayed in many hotels & BBs. We stayed here on July 17th to 19th. This hotel was one of the more expensive, yet least pleasant places we stayed, the room had cobwebs on the balcony, inside the doors; the shower was ridiculous, water splashed all over the floor. Also there was a loud, constant banging sound which we informed the receptionist about after check in and were promised that it would be looked into; the banging went on uniterrupted for the whole time (2 nights) we were there and no one got back to us either. The restaurant was a joke, food was terrible and they behaved so haughty and uptight; one might have thought it was a critic's choice restaurant until you sit down then you see the old mouldy interiors, the decor, uniforms, everything is old and dank. Breakfast was even worse, had to ask twice for hot undiluted coffee. Since it was included in the price, we didn't expect much but thought we'd atleast get a hot cup of coffee, after all we were in Italy but silly us. And the price for an omelet, if you dare to order....ridiculous! There was one restaurant outside the hotel within walking distance, fantastic food, service and energy about the place. The hotel needs major renovation and needs to inject some life into it, many times we felt like we were the only living souls there, creepy! Will not be recommending it or going back, just not worth the money. Como itself was beautiful, the natural scenery was breathtaking and peaceful but we should've enjoyed it on a day trip, too boring to stay.

Very nice. Especially good that one can leave the car in the garage and go by ferryboat in 8 minutes to Como. Marvellous view on the lake. Wonderful breakfast by the lake. Wouldn't go to the restaurant (dinner) again, quite expensive and not that excellent.

We spend only one Night as a stop over,,, It was a very beautiful suite with an amazing view @ the see, but absolutely not worth the money that spend! The Hotel stuff is quite inflexible and a little nose up... But yah you're in Italy so I guess it needs to be that way..! If you don't mind the price and the poor breakfast, than that's your hotel!
