Hotel with great external view but rooms are very deceiving for a 4 stars (aging bathroom, few complementary services, no slippers). The view on the lake is blocked by too many trees. The hotel is not directly located on the street so it is quite quiet taking into consideration the traffic. Location is great to visit historical center of Como and easy acces to boats.

The location of the Hotel is just perfect and easy to find. Since it is a historical building, the room space is limited but fairly adapted to today's standard. However, we could not find a safe in our room and the door locking system asks for an improvement. Nice breakfast buffet, even though the coffee tast was not realy exiting.

The hotel was in a very good location for visiting the lake.I got the impression that it was once a grand establishment that is now in decline.. Apart from this - the rooms are comfortable & clean. I would suggest that some interest from all the staff except the young ladies at the front counter would improve the "warmness" of the establishment

Friendly staff, room quite small, quite poor amenities in the room (no slippers, no thoot brush), check out with mistakes and not so friendly like the welcoming, good breakfast, excellent location, parking in an open garden charged like a secured garage. but in average good and I reccomend it

VERY NICE HOTEL TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE OFFER. QUIET AND THE BEST LOCATION. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS TO REACH IT, IS NOT VERY WELL INDICATED AND NOT EVEN THE POLICE WAS ABLE TO EXPLAIN HOW TO GET THERE.

Great location. The rooms are a little on the small size and a bit dated but the location and ease of parking makes up for it.

Excellent location. Directly across the street from the ferry boats to the other towns. 1 block from the main piazza for shopping. We ate dinner at Il Vecchio Borgo and it was excellent!

We enjoyed our stay at the Palace Hotel, however they did not have quad rooms for the four of us (2 adults plus 11 and 14 year olds) so we were required to book two rooms during our stay which made the stay particularly expensive for us (1500 euros or ~ $2400 for four nights). The rooms were nice, but not $300/night/room nice. The outside of the hotel was beautiful and the location was right across the street from the lake which were both nice to haves. The town of Como is more metropolitan than other towns on the lake but is near two train stations so have easy access to wherever you want to go in Europe or Italy.

We had a problem in our TV that they couldn't fix (only the day after) but refused to change the room because it was used already. For 2 days we asked to talk with the manager but he never show up and ignore also our request to contact us. This behaviour caused us big disapointment and we wanted to share it with hotelsonline.com surfers.

This hotel was great because it's right on the lake. It's also by a lot of restaurants and bars.

VERY POOR QUALITY SERVICE AND ROOM FOR THE PRICE PAID. Very small room with cheap mismatched furniture. Not what you would expect from a hotel like this, and for the price paid. Room was basically a closet that had been converted - next to the janitor’s closet. Very loud. Floor was very hot in room due to some sort or equipment underneath. . Requested change but hotel would not accommodate. Maids had not cleaned properly, no turndown service. etc. Poor selection for Breakfast buffet with limited service and impersonal dining room Beautiful hotel on the exterior, great location in Como on the water, but the rooms were terrible!

This hotel was expensive but worth it. Upon arriving we were shown this tiny room and for the price was not worth it. When I complained they stated that for another 50E I could have a different room. Well, the bathroom in the new room was bigger then the bedroom of the original one we were booked in. We paid the extra euros but it made this even more expensive. All I can say is it was worth it. We had a beautiful room, the hotel is right on the marina so easy excess to all the ferries to tour all of lake Como, the funicular was an easy walking ditance away and numerous restaurants within easy walking disance. We took the ferry all the way up to the top to Calico and loved it. The only problem we had was trying to find a safe internet cafe. If you don't have a laptop with you the hotel does not have an internet for you to use. And the places in Como are not great! Take the funicular up to the town to see the view of Como, it's amazing but there is a restaurant right by the funicular where the man who owns the place makes his own beer, wine and pasta and prides himself on these items. The beer is great, the wine is tasty and the paste is to die for!!!! And I can't say enough about the hotel staff. They we extremely helpful, fun and friendly.

We stayed 3 nights in como and booked a double superior bed with the best view on the lake:the room was very nice. But as usual in italy, for a hotel this kind, breakfast was not that remarkable.Nice stay anyhow because of the location.

Very neat and welcoming staff. OK breakfast, My car was somehow to wide for the garage, so had to park outside on private area that was also safe. Great location and surroundings, even though the lake looks somewhat small from the town shore. The rooms are practically the same size w/wo the view.

Stayed for 2 nights with children 10 and 11 yrs. Enjoyed every minute of the stay. Great location. The breakfast was not bad. The rooms were great. A bit noisy from the traffic on the main road, but I would gladly put up with the noise in exchange for the stunning lake views from the room. The station to catch the train back to Milan was a short 3-minute walk. I will definitely go back to this hotel.

This seemed a wonderful hotel, specially because we are talking about a "palace". But once we got there, we were disappointed by the hotel and room decoration (very basic), bathroom was small (it only had shower) and the lift is minimal. In general we didn't really feel ourselves in a palace except for the nice façade... The positive aspects were location, having Lake como across the street and the old city centre not even 5 minutes walking, and the staff friendliness. Overall the stay was good but for the price (around 150€) i believe you can get better and with a good location also. Remember their transport boats pass very often in the initial part of the Lake.

For our first time to Como, it was a welcome experience. We are looking to return ASAP. The Hotel was very classy, both in looks and location. It is next to one of the train stations that serve Como, this one being the Nord Stationze which does a local run to Milan, and the San Giorgorino Stationze being the long distance. I would be to really only mention one negative and that is the lack of some type of rubber mat in the shower so you don.t slip. There is no where to grab to steady wet, slippery feet and the potential for serious accidents is very prevalent. They could never get awat with such an unsafe condition in the USA. Otherwise, highly recommended and a good stay. Lou and Artemis Herrold

Rooms need complete renovation and new furniture. Breakfast was a disaster with insufficient tables and the buffet ran out of food, coffee and drinks several times during the hour we were there. Clearly insuffient numbers of staff to manage that amount of customers.

Excellent location tho difficult to find by car. Large area of scruffy grass/earth in front of hotel which I assume used to be garden but is now a car park. BUT this is not available for hotel guests despite it being largely empty during our stay. Most of this hotel buildings on ground floor off-limits to hotel guests! I assume this is for conference people only. Another hotel only really interested in conference guests So, no public areas - for a 4-star hotel, this is not good.

The Hotel Palace is located directly on Lake Como and only minutes from the train station. We took a taxi from the train station for 7.5 euros. You can walk into the town of Como and enjoy the cafe's at the Piazza, shopping and dinner. We also took a day trip to Bellagio, the boat departs from the docks across the street from the Hotel. We would definetly stay there again.
